In Venecia, of 29 August to 25 November 2012 the Pavilion of Spain –promoted by the Ministry responsible for public works with the collaboration of Spanish Cultural Action (AC/And) and the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for the development (AECID)– will open his doors to the visitors that want to participate of an intense architectural experience and adentrarse in the privacy of the projects and methods of investigation that the Spanish architects have at present on the table and in roads of construction.
Seven installations, corresponding to each one of the seven teams participants, will show the scientific processes that look for the balance between the ideas and his necessary materialisation, trascending the products finished to give access to the reasons and emotions that have done them possible, to the incomplete versions, to the references of which nourish and to the findings. The installations, far to represent certainties, will serve of excuse to the distinct teams to follow exploring, testar his ideas and build prototypes of his works in course, sharing like this his field of work more alive.
The images, works, outlines and objects fruit of these investigations will exhibit in the pavilion like information in crude, without prepare, gathered in a space under construction, as it is it a laboratory or a study of architecture; that will invite to the visitor to read between lines and will look for to cause the learning. And in this atmosphere of creativity and invention convivirán very diverse approximations and understandings of what is and can be the architecture, all they pertinent and engaged with our time and our culture and our society.
SPAINLAB, the bet of the commissioners and also architects, Débora Table and Antón García-Abril, that with big enthusiasm have supported the institutions promoters and patrocinadoras of the sample, arises with a clear strategy: show that the true value of the works is not in the final image that represent and that the future of the Spanish architecture goes through the support and the protection of the processes of personal investigation; like essence of the genetics that will give life to the works.
The sample complete with a book, SPAIN-lab, that documents the work of the teams to traves of dialogues and critical texts . This book has been coordinated by Inma Maluenda and Enrique Encabo that have interviewed to the teams selected, and contains an introductory text of Nader Tehrani, “head” of the department of architecture of the MIT, that will offer a vision criticises and reflected of the investigation in Spain. An unpublished interview of Hans Ulrich Obrist with the teacher of the architectural innovation in Spain, Miguel Fisac, concludes the book. The architects Daniel Ibañez and Pablo Rey have designed a digital platform that complete and opens to a greater scientific community, academic, professional and institutional the doors of the SPAIN lab, with the vocation to extend the inertia of the exhibition in Venecia and trascend in the message to the society. The identity grafica has been developed by the prestigious artist Alberto Corazón, and the architect Artemio Fochs has commissioned of the audiovisual platform, with videos unpublished of the processes of work of the teams that presented in the sample and in the digital platform. All the physical setting of the exhibition has been coordinated by the technical architect Javier Cuesta.

On the teams expositores
The seven teams participants selected, in spite of his very different paths, have important points in common: all they have known to develop his extraneous professional activity to styles or fashions, no without a true professional risk; and all they have built his private universe and look for the materialisation of his ideas like the most precise way to be useful to the society for which work. They suppose a small witness of the true heritage of the new architecture in Spain, based in the investigacion.
All they work internationally and apply his innovative ideas in projects at present developing and to all the scales.
