La llegada del Tren de Alta Velocidad (AVE) a la ciudad de Murcia supondrá la transformación de los barrios del Carmen y Santiago el Mayor. Tras 24 años de lucha vecinal por el soterramiento de las vías, el AVE llegará por superficie.
La implementación de las vías de alta velocidad supondrá una fractura definitiva, un muro infranqueable que aislará los barrios del sur.
Pero no es esta la única barrera que amenaza a la ciudad.
