Architects and, nevertheless, investigators | Stepienybarno

Magazines indexed of the first level in architecture |

The world of the investigation and the architecture they have never gone too much of the hand. In fact, surely, there have dressed as investigation things that it were not and other many investigations have never come to the academic area. Of this form, and for the importance that has the investigation inside academic world, we believe that it is a topic more than interesting to put on the table.

For it, if you want to know more on question, you do not have any more than to happen, to read and if you encourage to comment better than better. Thousand graces for our generous collaborators who have made possible this post: Miguel Villegas of Arquitextonica, Juanjo López de la Cruz of Sol 89 and Rodrigo Almonacid C. of  r-arquitectos.

We begin the courses of doctorate five years ago, without knowing very well where we were getting, later we did the DEA or tesinas, obtaining the investigative sufficiency, still without having very clearly what age it of being investigators. Nowadays, we are tied by our doctoral theses and, finally, we see that we have crossed a way that, at least, allows us to place the topic and to be conscious of what the history goes.

This way, the today post is a consequence of a marvellous debate that came untied a few days ago in our wall of facebook  (consulting here)and that we did not want that it was getting lost in the depths of this social network. For it, we have called for three of the protagonists of this conversation in order that they answer to 10 questions that we have prepared on the world of the investigation in the area of the architecture.

There the interview goes. We hope that it is of your interest.

Which is your situation inside the educational area? Might you tell us how it has been your experience inside the world of the investigation?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ I am an associate teacher of the School of Architecture of Seville from 2005. I returned to the School across a contest for which there was valued more the professional path than the investigator, unlike others where it is the academic tour the most valued thing. I would not like to lose the sensation that I come from the exterior space. The return to the School has allowed me to confirm that to investigate, to plan and to give classes is the same thing with different form; I believe in the project as investigation, in the investigation as deepening of the worries that allows to discover others and in the teaching as a return to beginning, an own question that moves to the set of the students in order that his own questions are done.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _ For seven years I am a teacher in the School of Design CEADE-Leonardo, from last year in the artistic top educations of design. My experience like investigator has been erratic enough. In my student’s stage, I was more linked to the theory of the architecture, with a scholarship of the MEC. When I finished the career and started producing architecture, I understood that what I was interested was to apply the theory to the practice of the architectural project.

In 2005 I realized the courses of doctorate in the ETSA of Seville, but for professional motives I left in pause the production of the tesina and the thesis. I took again them in 2010, for what I changed to the model máster in search of certain investigative discipline. I obtained the title of máster, what one supposes that it certifies my investigative aptitudes for beginning my doctoral thesis.

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ Nowadays I have a part-time contract of associate teacher, to the wait of being able to be an assistant doctor once recognized my accreditation as doctor.

To collective level the experience like investigator is insignificant, so if you do not possess the doctor’s qualifications your contributions to a group of investigation they are considered of minor value, though sometimes you imply yourself more than the majority than those who presume to appear in this “equipment”. To individual level, already from student he was a scholar of the Dpto. Projects and I got hooked up with this labor, though the truth is that the supposed work of investigation that you promise to realize during the scholarship is not in the habit of mattering for anybody and always remaining unpublished, died by starvation.

Why do you believe that the architecture and the architects have not had habitually a narrow relation with the academic investigation?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ ecause they have not needed it. Always the investigation has existed in the architecture, in all his areas, technical or cultural, practical or theoretical, but his form of expression has not been necessarily academic. The investigators’ current proliferation, másters and thesis, with his advantages and disadvantages, owes to a professionalization of the investigator forced in many cases for the successive normative steps that it is necessary to give to be able to satisfy an educational vocation. In this multiplication of the investigative activity big experts of the architecture continue arising as Ángel Martínez García-Posada, Santiago de Molina, Jacobo García-Germán, Jaime Ferrer or Mayka García-Hípola, for speaking about some young doctors with a brilliant career dedicated to the architectural thought.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _ During the years that passed between the ending of the courses of doctorate and my step to máster I happened for many stages of doubts and dilemmas about the approach of my investigation. It was difficult to me to accept very much that what I understood for investigation, was not scientific investigation and less university level. Thanks to my tutor of investigation, Luz Fernandez-Valderrama, I obtained, in spite of being in deep disagreement, entering reason and learning to work inside the academic orthodoxy.

Probably the problem that I had is extrapolable to the rest of companions. We confuse test isolated with iterative experiment, creativity with science, density of work with rigor, expression with documentation. For if it does not remain clear, the test, creativly, with great quantity of work and a rich expressiveness it is to what we are accustomed in architecture. The science, I believe, it is more near the iterative experiment, with applied science, rigorously and documented to the maximum.
Many companions will think, like it was making it I, that his architecture is since I have described the science, it was difficult to my me years and displeasures to accept that I was wrong.

Rodrigo Almonacid C. r-arquitectos _ It is simple to deal. To turn into “doctor” increases the professional attributions of the architect in Spain, so except that you have interests in your promotion as teacher inside an ETSA it is not worth it. In other countries he supposes a very considered range, gives prestige, but in ours and in our dear profession it is sometimes even despised by the market, where it predominates over the anti-meritocracia. In the last years this has changed, but more for need than for investigator’s authentic vocation. Since now there is no work, newly licentiates are convinced to prolong his studies in courses of doctorate, and sometimes enclosedly to doing the thesis, in spite of the fact that there are no hollows for new teachers. But as the Department in question it signs so much …

On what subject matters you have been investigating in these years and how has it been the process that you have followed?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ It seems to me that an architect advances with multiple investigations simultaneously, some of them never stay awake and others are publicized by appearance of books, thesis, classes, projects or constructions. For my part, the questions that I have investigated always have had a strong personal entail, already out from a trip, a realized project or a chance meeting, I believe that if it is not like that everything is more difficult. I do not reject any area of investigation, the specialization does not exist in architecture any more that in her itself, for what when I try to penetrate into a question, the cultural thing, the constructive thing and also what is not properly architectural they are in the habit of converging on my table, it is the own look the one that amalgamates all this complex. I have assembled investigations on the reutilization as cultural fact, on the occupation of left places, on the room in the American postwar period, on some northern architect that anduvo for Morocco, Italy and France to the search of the lost light or on the genesis of the creative processes in the area of the project. In coherence, I will say that with every project, together with Maria Gonzalez, I inaugurate or continue a new folder where we accumulate convergences that are giving form to future inquiries, this way we have investigated on the formation of the cities as an accumulation, on the urban not planned genesis, on the construction of the emptiness, on the recovery of lost spaces or on the project as one sequence of actions. I want to think that still I am an investigative amateur, in the first sense of the term, always I have collected matters that were calling me the attention and in some occasion I have put them in order in the shape of articles, classes, some book and investigation of máster, now I walk trying to arrange my doctoral thesis.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _ Here the process also seemingly erratic, but alone seemingly, and it has led me to obtaining a line that I believe that it has certain coherence.

I began in 2003 from, investigating and writing on architecture and company network. I continued working on computational design, a very instrumental branch of the production of architecture and that, in spite of his power, goes very much suffering the ignorant disdain of many. I tried to conquer the reticences that I was, proposing an investigation in the one that was producing to herself a direct application of the computational design to the project of architecture. On having seen the enormous descreimiento that existed, not only on the possibilities of his application, if not on informacional, for my base of the computational thing, in yes same, I decided that it had to be the object of the first part of my investigation, and this way there appeared the object of my tesina “Conceptual Tools for an Operative Comprehension of the Company of the Information”.

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ Most of the time I have been investigating on the interpretation of the keys of the landscape as material for the project of architecture, specially in the northern environment and about the exemplary work of the Danish Arne Jacobsen. Finally it has crystallized in the shape of doctoral thesis (“Arne Jacobsen: el paisaje codificado”), which has been an enormous personal happiness, since the process started firstly in a trip, then with several articles in books and some presentation, and it had been a shame not to have finished off the process of any more than one decade of work.

*** For if to someone it can interest him, I have hung a summary of my thesis on my [r-blog] to disburden it in PDF

How do you see the current structure of the educational world? What do they look like to you the másters of architecture in general and those that lead to the doctoral thesis especially?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ I feel unable to think about the generality of the educational and investigative world. If I limit myself to my short experience, I give lessons in the first course of projects of the career and continue being present been charmed with at the moment in which a student opens the eyes as plates because it has seen beyond what he believed, it is necessary to believe to see. I am a witness from my years of student of a progressive loss of hours of teaching of the career and of the project subject (excuse that I refer only to her but it is that me compete), nowadays the half with regard to when I studied, which I do not believe that it is good, seems to be complicated that where the time is so important one gives a matter with so many urgencies. In any case, I think that the universitary education is not but a prelude, you upset an invitation to begin to walk and to discover your own paths. In architecture, I imagine that in other disciplines equal, it is necessary to continue being formed to be able to construct an own thought. The advantage of the current másters with regard to the former procedures that they were enabling to do the thesis, is that the times are more ruled and there is a major follow-up of your investigative work, opposite to that solitary sniper of the former regulations who could happen years bet without shooting not even an alone shot. The most negative side is a luck of automation of the investigative career, in which the protagonist yields in occasions excessive autonomy to the máster, carrying out investigations that sometimes he is not interested not him itself. The solution, as so many other times, the personal search and the interest for the things beyond the immediate incomes that they provide.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _ The structure of the educational world seems to me to be excessively bureaucratized. From my stage like student there have been realized legal reforms that were trying to finish with the nepotism and the clientelismo in the university.

It seems that it has been obtained enough, but the public university that now I perceive I do not like. Everything diminishes to accumulation of publications, accreditations, reports, educational plans, the bureaucratic load of the system seems to me to be excessive. And I am afraid that the system of regulations, contests, stays, scholarships, collaborations, interims and this length etc, while system, it can be perverted. I do not believe that it is infallible.
The private university gives me other guarantees with regard to my responsibility and that of my companions. It is true that our access to the teaching is more discreccional, but once inside, the teachers we are constant submitted to scrutiny. If we do not give good results, we do not work. There are no “places”.

Respect of the másters, my experience at the public university has not been good, but I cannot say that it should have been disappointing, and probably this is worse still, because it was waiting for me. It was looking for a specialized formation and of professional level and I met an extension course of the career. There was no difference in the educational methodology, the contents were, the majority of the times, excessively elementary and the too low implication.

I believe that the másters should have a level of very much major exigency. We are speaking about given teaching not to university students if not to university, some already professional licentiates in exercise. And the level, at least that I perceived, was stopping much that to wish. I believe that, one of the routes of solution of this problem would be to establish a temporary minimal distance between the master and the máster, and other one between the máster and the doctorate. In Spain a student can deal a degree, a máster and his thesis and be a doctor with less than 30 years. It looks like to me a barbarity. And I believe that the system of investigation and current accreditation is what he is promoting. He is competing for a university professionalized investigation, something seemingly very positive, if it was not because a strong disconnection of the investigators can provoke respect of the reality of his sector.

These experiences, between others, are those who me move as teacher to be very demanding with me and with my pupils. I believe that a major conscience of the responsibility must exist of some and others and to do that the level of exigency, and that of consistent excellence, is identical to this one.

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ The departmental structure of the Spanish university, as I see it, it is excessively hierarchic, which prevents from progressing for lines that are not proposed from the dome. It was a valid formula for a past time, but that needs to be checked to be able to extend the gun-sights and give content to new educational and investigative experiences, and to return to fit with the company the one that (supposedly) serves.

The masters should contribute a professional qualification of “specialist”, and often it is very difficult to offer from universities of medium or small size like that I know. To assemble a series of real experts in a matter is very complicated, but alone from criteria of maximum quality they make sense, if not … it is to lose the time. The courses of postdegree for PhD students are, in general, much worse, because they do not possess a common idea and are not in the habit of preparing you for a matter on which to investigate, and often not even to be able to investigate in a scientific way. And less in the new environments of knowledge 2.0., where it of the “treatment of contents” him sounds to Chinese to (almost) all the teachers of this type of courses, unfortunately.

How would you define a Doctoral thesis? In what there differs a doctoral thesis of an investigation (if it is that there is difference)? Has some particularity a thesis of architecture?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ Again I am not most adapted to answer since I have not done any doctoral thesis. Since reader of thesis might answer that it seems to me that, understood well, a thesis is an excuse favoured to be able to dedicate your time to investigating in a worry that will finish revealing yourself a little of you itself, the theses in that more I am interested reveal theirs so much of the object investigated like of the investigator. As for the particularities of a thesis, at first, this one must be an instrument to share knowledge, of there that should answer to a way that should guarantee the transfer of what in her is said, though I do not believe that this means that there is the only formula of doing a thesis since they defend some. It seems to me to be beautiful to that a thesis attends to what others said on the investigated matter, there is something humble in assuming that one does not do but to advance in a collective, universal work; the doubt arises on having asked how much us has a thesis of architecture of personal contribution removed from the scientific rigors, on having done this question to us is inevitable to spy things to left side and to right, without glasses …

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _ Altar my still is a hanging topic; little I can reach beyond impressions. But something if that I have to say. It seems to me, and this is only an opinion, that one of the problems of the production of doctoral theses in the area in that I am interested, that of architectural projects, is the lack of scientific work. I see constant project thesis, and let’s not forget that to project it means to throw ahead, whose object of work is a past architecture. I do not see a solid and coherent line on the project of architecture towards the future.

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ A thesis is a determination for finding the most important questions brings over of a question of relevancy, at least in the personal thing. I have described it as a “trip”, in which the longed Ítaca is it of less, the interesting thing is in the way. If he does not fill with enthusiasm the topic it is better to leave it urgently, so it is sure that you will not end the trip, is too hard as not to be ultra-motivated. It is there where there resides the principal particularity of a thesis of architecture: that the way we cover alone, each one for frees, without they are a part of a line of investigation more wide and shared by other members of a department. It that yes scientist – technology happens with a thesis, in that a thesis puts in order a series of results obtained after a “experiment” and that in addition has to be published in order that it cannot only obsolete, in order that not different divulgue before that you. Because of it his size and dedication cannot be infinite, since yes it is in the habit of happening with those of humanities on the other hand.

Of what does an article of investigation consist? Which do you believe that it is his importance? What does look like to you the system of evaluation of the Aneca?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ Since you know, an article of investigation must be a text that lights a knowledge or a new look on a concrete matter, has to expire also with a series of academic procedure that allow to give continuity to this text with the past (across the mentioned sources) and with the future (across the bibliography that allows to continue investigating). It tries to move away from the simple spreading (across the deepening) and of the mere opinion (arguing said with confirmed sources). His importance depends on the quality of the article, as a post of a blog, a bound edition or a message in a bottle, they are good and bad. The evaluations like those of the ANECA try to control that the educational and investigative activity of a teacher who wants to advance in his academic career is kept alive, across a categorization curricular that guarantees a minimum of qualit production. The problem is that in this attempt probably injustices take place because the standardizations remove badly with the singularities and in his attempt of guaranteeing that the contributed values are of sufficient quality others despise, less ruled, that can be interesting but of improbable checking. In addition a lasting claim exists from the area of the architecture for which one attends to the particularities of this discipline, where there do not exist channels of investigation so consolidated like in others and in which the professional activity can be tied also to the investigation. Another possible perversion happens when the academic career turns into one I run for managing to accumulate the merits that more puntúan, beyond his specific interest, though I imagine that this always has been like that. Neither be much of the matter, the ANECA collaborator evaluated me positively for teacher but it never served me for anything.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ The consideration of an article is foreign to the own text, depends on external agents (agencies like the ANECA, scientific committees of the magazines, institutes of investigation, etc.), depending on the case. In the relative thing to the Architecture it is difficult to indicate in what measure this consideration of top range granted, for example, to the being published in an indexed magazine is really opportune in terms of “impact”, preponderant value (and principal “it runs aground of measuring”) of any classification of this type. In Architecture it is very difficult to establish: you can read very interesting texts and with high degree in his contribution to a certain theoretical speech and lack a methodological rigor, of what we consider to be a scientific perfectly documented labor (precedents in the investigation, erudition in the sources, originality, correction, etc.); and vice versa, so there is articles wonderfully elaborated in the form but whose content is not relevant, or at least only it it is in 10 % of his speech, since it is a question of reelaborations or updates on a topic (enclosed this happens with the theses, specially the historiográficas, that they are “documentary makers” but nothing propositivas, which does not affect in a vivificación of these historical files).

Of the system of evaluation of the ANECA only I will comment on the strange incongruities observed all over, so a few times you see to since accreditations are granted to professor without scarcely having written not even an alone book of individual form, and the opposite turns out to be other times that it happens. I have not suffered it still but it seems to be very unjust, I suspect that more induced from the needs of endowment of squares of certain ETSAs that for other motives. But it is what exists …

What particularities have the magazines that publish articles of investigation? Which is your relation with the scientific magazines that we have inside our area of the architecture?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ The major singularity is that the articles publish according to an anonymous external criterion of evaluation to the own publishing advice of the magazine, where the evaluated author who sends a text does not know his assessors and vice versa. It is the double blind system called, for which two knowledgeable assessors of the matter of the article to valuing think independently if this one must be published. In addition a scientific magazine must guarantee a periodicity of publication that guarantees an effort continued by the diffusion of the knowledge, a fall endogamia, this is, that the columnists are in the main foreign to the institution or group that promotes the magazine, and to possess a scientific committee integrated by recognized investigators. In my case, I am a member of the publishing advice of the scientific magazine Project Progress Architecture, my assignment, together with that of the rest of the advice, it is of proposing the temáticas of the numbers to publishing, verifying if the articles sent in the corresponding summons attend to the proposed subject matter and have scientific form and, finally, to confirm that the author abides by the considerations carried out by the external and anonymous assessors in case they are.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ The lawful conditions that impose them to these indexed magazines are very rigorous in general, and in the area of the Architecture they have not adapted well to the peculiarities of our discipline. Such it is so, lucky, from 2011 the Directors’ Conference of the Schools of Architecture of Spain goes being employed at it, and he has just presented does little more than one month an alternative offer that adjusts in major measure to our investigative reality. We will see if it is accepted and how it is implemented.

In my case the relation with this type of magazines is almost void up to the date, since there are so small the number of the indexed ones and so many the demand of the teachers or investigators in Architecture that not everything can be published though it should assemble criteria of scientific quality more than recognized. It is a shame to lose so much work for lack of recognized platforms of spreading.

How is it an indexed magazine? What consequences has it to publish in a magazine indexed of the first level? How there measures up the impact of these magazines?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ The common characteristic to the indexed publications is that they form a part of a documentary area that allows his tracking and location for his consultation. The more prestigious is the institution than incorporates the magazine to his index, at first, major number of investigators will accede to her and major impact they will have the articles that it contains. In Spain it is the National Commission Assessor of the Investigative Activity the one that defines the established criteria in order that a publication is recognized like “of impact”. Anyhow, the first reason exists to take part in this type of publications, already be from his organization or as columnist, who should prevail over any other one, it is the satisfaction that provides the patient investigation and the imaginative speculation, the excitation of sharing with the others our look on the world, I believe that we should not lose this of sight.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ It of the measurement of the “impact” it is very subjective in the area of the Architecture. One is capable of understanding how the public spreading of certain scientific discovery allows to encourage hopes of an improvement of the conditions of the human life, for putting the case. But it works this way neither in Architecture, nor even in those areas in which the experimentalidad can be a discharge, since in the manufacturing processes of the materials or in those of the behavior of certain constructive solutions measured in laboratories for approved tests.

The “impact”of an article often owes more to the platform from where it is spread that to the merit in yes of the work. It we all it deal with the classic magazines of architecture, which columnists (generally of undoubted value, just person is to say it) reach major impact depending on the press-run figure sold of the magazine where is published his article that for the scientific committee that supports his publication, since in many of the magazines more internationally known it does not even exist, and everything it decides the publishing advice.

¿Qué papel creéis que juega internet, las nuevas tecnologías y la sociedad de la información dentro de mundo de la investigación en la arquitectura?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ The advantages of the diffusion and the connection are evident, Internet is the metaphor of the universalization of the knowledge to the one that inhales the university community, is known that it arose as a matter of links between universities. It does not seem to me that the problem or the virtue of the investigation belongs to support but to criterion, to the investigator, to the publisher and to the reader, if someone of the three weakens does not matter that we read in paper, on a screen or in the identical street one, it will not be worth having written it.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _ I go away to allowing to join all the questions, because again from my peripheral position, I believe that something fails in the system of scientific university investigation when it depends to such a level of the publications.

If the structure was:
I investigate> write> public> other investigators investigate> write> publish> …

We would be in a perfect process of expansion of the knowledge, something marvellous and necessary for the advance of the humanity.

But is here a problem. In the step between publishing and investigating, the indexed magazines establish a canon, the generally highest, for the access to the contents that they publish (contained by that rarely, for never saying, they pay). An agent of the chain decides to place in a position of force and to do business, with what the possibility of expansion of the knowledge meets united for determining economic.

Another topic is the establishment of the value and the academic reputation of the same ones. I am not going to discuss it, but it does not seem to me to be sufficient.

The scientific publications are a good of consumption, and this seems to me to be terrible. The company of the information is a fact and I believe that we have in our hands the tools and aptitudes to dismantle these system and that the science and the knowledge that this one generates, in any field, make accessible to the humanity. The Open Journal Systems is an example of initiatives in this direction, but I do not believe that it is the only route.

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ Sincerely, I do not believe that we could suspect how the evolution of the world is going to affect 2.0. In the investigation of Architecture. My opinion is it of which we cannot “unhook” ourselves of these new tools at the moment of creating and to share knowledge, it is wonderful!! In addition, if in other sectors or you discipline already they have overcome this change of mentality of the classic academic spreading as relating only one, why are we going to be less we? We cannot resign it, a world of opportunities is opened, since it is this one on having shared with you (Stepien and Barnó) my opinions in environments 2.0.

Surely it will finish for taking place a strong restructuring of the publishing world, and the universities will start entering these new dynamics, more obliged than convinced. Though, since before, not always the qualit criteria will occupy first place in the repercussion of the text, but yes that at least will be more opened the possibilities of doing it without academic obstacles for way.

Finally, what advice you would give to a young person (or not so young!!) architect who is thinking to enter the world of the investigation?

Juanjo López de la Cruz, Sol 89 _ More than an advice it is a follow-up that I do to me same. We should have present that tries to live to count it and not upside-down, that is more important to read that to write and that on having investigated we investigate in addition on us themselves, for what the motive of the investigation must arise from our worries and curiosities.

Miguel Villegas, Arquitextonica _ I believe that we must transform the company of the information into the company of the knowledge. The network is there, there is a lot of digital garbage, but also there is a lot of wonderful information. The whole human knowledge should be in the network, but now only there is a lot of information. How do we transform information into knowledge? Easy. Connecting, establishing connections, attributions, logics, references, making evident our processes of thought and investigation, and making them evident in order that others could take, make them his them and to make them grow.
For me, the information, and for extension the knowledge, must be, thank you especially to the hermeneutics and the digital thing, the only thing in the universe that contradicts the beginning of conservation of the energy. If we transmit (we) (share) information, not only we do not lose it, if not that we multiply and we make it grow turning her into something different and richer.
Connecting with the topic of the publications, I must enliven one it pisses fault. The perverse of the system, and the search of academic profitability, has led me to not publishing anything of my work end of máster.

For coherent being with my arguments it should have published them in free access some time ago, but if I want to follow a career as investigated university student, my aim they must be the scientific publications. For my this one is the problem without resolving.

Rodrigo Almonacid C., r-arquitectos _ Passion, passion, and passion. Investigating is “to walk to you try”, to think about the best questions and to answer only when certainties should be had. And it is very hard, it is not necessary to venture ado, so at the time we border on the literature and leave of the scientific, clear area.

First it is necessary to be an eager reader, a lover of the books. Probably like that, alone like that, could start one establishing relations between seemingly unconnected information, wherefrom the central idea of a text can arise. Then it is necessary to be methodical and very rigorous, not to want to force the speech and to put an order in all this tangle of limp ideas. And finally, with the time, they can turn into words corresponded with certain precision, and up to with formal skill. Though digámoslo clear, there are very few architects who write well, it is true, which does not mean that one is not a good investigator, certainly!!

I would encourage to investigating, but I would do it from the epoch of student, where the pruritus does not have to worry anybody. But if one finds the taste at the time for reading and then to write … so forward!!
