La calle Hintze Ribeiro es una de las calles más agradables del centro de Leça da Palmeira, donde la ciudad se construye con edificios de baja altura, acompañados de vegetación que mejora el espacio público. «Hay vida de barrio», en gran medida gracias a los pequeños comercios y servicios que todavía existen. Allí se vive bien. Además, el mar está a tan solo unos metros.
El cliente es siempre el primer arquitecto. Definió muy bien el producto comercial, con superficies rigurosas para responder a las demandas del mercado, y solicitó una construcción racional y optimizada que respondiera con calidad y coherencia al encargo. El ejercicio consistía en crear un producto de alto valor añadido para ofrecer al público, mediante el arte, el ingenio y la eficiencia.

Nuestra propuesta consistió en definir un módulo muy riguroso con el que trabajar, desde el garaje hasta la cubierta. Dentro de esta retícula modular y estructural, orientamos todos los dormitorios y los accesos verticales hacia la fachada norte, la calle Hintze Ribeiro, y todas las áreas sociales hacia el centro de la manzana. Una solución clásica en una ciudad consolidada.
Adoptamos el hormigón visto como principal material de construcción con el objetivo de optimizar la ejecución. Encoframos, desencoframos y obtuvimos la fachada terminada. Además, existía la posibilidad de trabajar con elementos prefabricados, aunque finalmente esta opción no llegó a confirmarse.

Durante el proceso, apareció el ladrillo macizo como revestimiento de la fachada, reforzando el lenguaje de diseño asociado al cliente.
