La Fundación del Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid (COAM) celebrará el jueves 10 de noviembre, junto a la embajada de Holanda, el seminario ‘Drafts, Plans & Barcodes: La ciudad en tiempo futuro’. Además, se inaugurará a exposición retrospectiva ‘Stills’ del estudio holandés Wiel Arets Architects. La muestra recorre de manera exhaustiva toda su trayectoria, desde sus inicios hasta las actuaciones más recientes. Siempre teniendo como telón de fondo la investigación del espacio como respuesta a las necesidades humanas y el entendimiento del contexto y la elección de los materiales como herramientas claves para la arquitectura.
Después de más de veinticinco años de innovación continua, ha llegado el momento de presentar una exposición de la obra de Wiel Arets Architects. Con más de cincuenta proyectos construídos, veinte monografías, una serie de productos en producción, incontables conferencias y cátedras ofrecidas por Wiel Arets y cuatro nuevas publicaciones en camino, el momento es perfecto. STILLS Wiel Arets Architects se fundó en 1983 y a lo largo de estos años se ha convertido en un nombre reconocido internacionalmente. La empresa tiene sus raíces en la región de Limburgo, en los Países Bajos y cuenta con oficinas en Ámsterdam, Maastricht y Zúrich. STILLS muestra el desarrollo de su obra, se sumerge en el fondo teórico que documenta la obra, y profundiza en las fuentes de inspiración y fascinación de Wiel Arets; desde sus inicios, hasta sus enseñanzas y proyectos actuales. En seis cortometrajes documentales, el arquitecto guía al visitante a través de las ciudades de Tokio, Zúrich, Berlín y Milán, exponiendo su visión de futuro sobre la arquitectura y la construcción urbana.

With more than fifty projects construct you, twenty monographs, a series of products in production, countless conferences and chairs offered by Wiel Arets and four new publications in way, the moment is perfect. STILLS Wiel Arets Architects was founded in 1983 and throughout these years it has turned into a name recognized internationally. The company has his roots in Limburgo’s region, in the Netherlands and possesses offices in Ámsterdam, Maastricht and Zúrich. STILLS shows the development of his work, submerges in the theoretical bottom that documents the work, and penetrates into the sources of inspiration and Wiel Arets’s fascination; from his beginnings, up to his educations and current projects. In six documentary shorts, the architect guides to the visitor across the cities of Tokyo, Zúrich, Berlin and Milan, exposing his vision of future on the architecture and the urban construction.
