Una casa en medio del jardín, con dos volúmenes claramente diferenciados,uno más esbelto y cerrado con los espacios de menor intensidad vital y el otro,transparente y horizontal, donde se vive la mayor parte del tiempo, y se relaciona familia y amistades.
Entorno
Aunque la casa se ubica en una urbanización, se ha concebido para evitar esta sensación centrando la atención en la propia parcela. Mediante pequeños recursos arquitectónicos se ha procurado que desde del interior siempre haya visuales al exterior verde para poder disfrutar del paso de las estaciones, con los cambios de cromatismos de árboles y plantas, con conciencia del tiempo, la lluvia, el sol, el viento… un espectáculo constante alrededor del espacio vital de la casa.
Programa
Una vivienda para una familia. Un espacio simple, sencillo y austero donde no sobra ni falta espacio, con un presupuesto ajustado y con un equilibrio entre el espacio, la función y el coste.
Transparencia
Una sucesión de planes de transparencia entre el parque de delante de la casa, el jardín de enfrente, el espacio de estar, el patio de atrás y la vegetación del arroyo del final, un diálogo constante del verde entre fuera y dentro, con el espacio central, como un gran porche situado en medio del jardín.
Materiales
La casa se ha realizado con materiales nobles: texturas puras de madera, hierro, hormigón y cerámica, evitando elementos sintéticos. Todos estos materiales requieren de mínimos procesos de fabricación y por lo tanto son de baja huella ecológica.
Ecoeficiencia
Casa Nostra tiene un óptimo comportamiento térmico con un consumo muy bajo de calefacción en invierno debido a que se calienta de forma natural con el sol y conserva muy bien la temperatura. Cuenta con inercia térmica del suelo para aprovechar el calentamiento natural y con ventilación natural para el verano, mucha luz natural y protección solar sin sistemas activos, con cortinas y persianas de librillo regulables de madera. La casa cuenta con sistema gota a gota para las plantas, y materiales ecológicos como la madera certificada, el corcho, el aislamiento con celulosa proyectada o los ladrillos cerámicos manuales, además de sistemas prefabricados como las placas del techo de madera, y un microclima que ayuda a regular la temperatura de la vegetación del entorno del jardín.

Unha casa no medio do xardín, con dous volumes claramente diferenciados,un máis esvelto e pechado cos espazos de menor intensidade vital e o outro,transparente e horizontal, onde se vive a maior parte do tempo, e relaciónase familia e amizades.
Contorna
Aínda que a casa sitúase nunha urbanización, concibiuse para evitar esta sensación centrando a atención na propia parcela. Mediante pequenos recursos arquitectónicos procurouse que desde do interior sempre haxa visuais ao exterior verde para poder gozar do paso das estacións, cos cambios de cromatismos de árbores e plantas, con conciencia do tempo, a choiva, o sol, o vento… un espectáculo constante ao redor do espazo vital da casa.
Programa
Unha vivenda para unha familia. Un espazo simple, sinxelo e austero onde non sobra nin falta espazo, cun orzamento axustado e cun equilibrio entre o espazo, a función e o custo.
Transparencia
Unha sucesión de plans de transparencia entre o parque de diante da casa, o xardín de en fronte, o espazo de estar, o patio de atrás e a vexetación do arroio do final, un diálogo constante do verde entre fóra e dentro, co espazo central, como un gran soportal situado no medio do xardín.
Materiais
A casa realizouse con materiais nobres: texturas puras de madeira, ferro, formigón e cerámica, evitando elementos sintéticos. Todos estes materiais requiren de mínimos procesos de fabricación e por tanto son de baixa pegada ecolóxica.
Ecoeficiencia
Casa Nostra ten un óptimo comportamento térmico cun consumo moi baixo de calefacción no inverno debido a que se quenta de forma natural co sol e conserva moi ben a temperatura. Conta con inercia térmica do chan para aproveitar o quecemento natural e con ventilación natural para o verán, moita luz natural e protección solar sen sistemas activos, con cortinas e persianas de librillo regulables de madeira. A casa conta con sistema pinga a pinga para as plantas, e materiais ecolóxicos como a madeira certificada, a cortiza, o illamento con celulosa proxectada ou os ladrillos cerámicos manuais, ademais de sistemas prefabricados como as placas do teito de madeira, e un microclima que axuda a regular a temperatura da vexetación da contorna do xardín.

A house in the middle of a garden, designed for our way of living and feeling; with two clearly differentiated volumes. One of them slender and closed, which contains our less vital intensity spaces, like bathrooms, stairs, bedrooms or storage, and the other one, horizontal and transparent, where we spend most of the time, with our family and friends.
Concept & program
This space acts as the vital center of the house; like a large porch in the middle of the garden, between plants and trees. It consists of two floors, with 30% of the program on the first floor, dedicated to the spaces of our children; Nil and Nora. Thus, the formal clarity is also manifested in its division and functional organization, with the different areas to be used.
House surroundings
The house is located in a typical urbanization extension area of a small village, mostly dominated by single-family houses; although our house has been conceived to avoid the sensation of being immersed in it. This is why the attention has been focused on the plot itself, and, through small architectural resources, it has been designed to always have nice visuals to the exterior from the inside. In this way the passage of seasons all around the year is constantly enjoyed, with the changes of chromatisms of trees and plants; being continually conscientious of the natural elements like rain, sun, clouds or wind, … a daily show around the central space of the house.
Textures
For the horizontal volume, a succession of transparency planes dominates the central space, between the park in front of the house, the front garden, the living space, the backyard and the creek at the end. A constant communication of green between inside and outside, a world of day reflections and nightlights; where the crossed visuals are the protagonists.
For the vertical volume, the smooth light plaster, the manual brick, painted with the same mortar and the wood blinds conform the envelope. Fragments of subtle textures which define the shape and volumes.
Finally, the garden vegetation, incorporated as natural architecture and tectonics companion, with a varied species of flowers, plants and trees. Every day bring out the coloration, shades and seasonal variations that culminate the spatial atmospheres, enriching the experience of living and feeling the house.
Tectonics
Most of the materials used are noble, with pure and natural finishes… wood, iron, ceramic or concrete are some of the examples. This allows to enjoy the visual and tactile characteristics of the elements with the natural composition and appearance of their fibers, the patina and the productive processes. In this way, during the design process, we have tried to avoid the introduction of synthetic materials, elements or components to the house.
Eco-efficiency energy and building sustainability
In winter, the house is heated naturally by the sun’s rays and the thermal inertia of the ground. The wall and ceiling insulation maintains the indoor temperature and the wood stove provides an alternative to heating the spaces in winter.
In hotter periods, the orientation of the windows provides good natural cross ventilation, and the adjustable slats of the wooden shutters control and filter light and solar radiation. For the large glass windows an external «screen» system has been installed, complemented with exterior curtains increases the shade factor and prevents internal heating by direct radiation from the sun.
The surrounding vegetation lowers the temperature in the summer, especially in the north façade, which receives more hours of shade.
Sustainable construction systems, such as solar panels for domestic hot water and a drip irrigation system, are complemented by the partial use of prefabricated systems, eco-friendly insulation with compacted cellulose, wood, handmade brick, cork and other elements that have a lower impact on the life cycle and, hence, the calculation of the ecological footprint.
Building cost
It is a simple and austere house for a family, where there is no excess, but there is no lack of space, with a tight budget and a constant search for the balance between spatial quality, function and cost. The construction systems, the elements and the interior finishes have been optimized in order to avoid the extra cost of construction, with minimum solutions to guarantee the desired level of comfort.
