¿Qué opina sobre la arquitectura que se está construyendo actualmente en las ciudades? De las tres preguntas que hemos hecho a distintos paseantes que cruzaron la plaza Colón de Madrid la semana pasada voy a intentar profundizar en ésta. Se habla mucho (siempre entre arquitectos por supuesto) de la necesidad de establecer un diálogo abierto entre la arquitectura y la sociedad. Se han escrito numerosos artículos, tesis, libros e incluso se han dado ponencias sobre el tema, desde mi punto de vista, demasiado intelectualizados.
Tengo que decir que la pregunta tenía una intención. Corroborar lo que ya sabía. Que las ciudades que estamos construyendo, salvo excepciones, son ajenas a los gustos del habitante. En líneas generales, de las respuestas que han dado los ciudadanos podemos sacar una conclusión. No están satisfechos con la arquitectura actual. Insípida, precaria, fea, pobre son algunos de los adjetivos que se han utilizado para definir (estéticamente) los nuevos barrios de las ciudades y yo les doy la razón.
¿Quién tiene la culpa?, ¿Los políticos?, ¿los promotores? La respuesta tajante es NINGUNO DE ELLOS.

Fálase moito (sempre entre arquitectos por suposto) da necesidade de establecer un diálogo aberto entre a arquitectura e a sociedade. Escribíronse numerosos artigos, teses, libros e ata se deron relatorios sobre o tema, desde o meu punto de vista, demasiado intelectualizados.
Teño que dicir que a pregunta tiña unha intención. Corroborar o que xa sabía. Que as cidades que estamos construíndo, salvo excepcións, son alleas aos gustos do habitante. En liñas xerais, das respostas que deron os cidadáns podemos sacar unha conclusión. Non están satisfeitos coa arquitectura actual. Insípida, precaria, fea, pobre son algúns dos adjetivos que se utilizaron para definir (estéticamente) os novos barrios das cidades e eu doulles a razón.
¿Quen ten a culpa?, ¿os políticos?, ¿os promotores? A resposta taxante é NINGÚN DELES.
What does think about the architecture that is constructed nowadays in the cities? In general lines, of the answers that the citizens have given we can extract a conclusion. They are not satisfied by the current architecture. Insipid, precarious, ugly, poor they are some of the adjectives that have been in use for defining (aesthetically) the new neighborhoods of the cities and I give them the reason.
The one who has the fault?, the politicians?, the promoters? The incisive response is NONE OF THEM.
