Exit Through the Gift Shop narra la amistad entre Banksy (probablemente el más famoso y talentoso artista urbano del mundo) y Thierry Guetta, un obsesivo francés que vive en LA, quien fascinado por el arte urbano pasó años filmando a Banksy, Space Invader, Shepard Fairey y otros artistas más.
La polémica comienza cuando Guetta, decide ser un artista, bajo el nombre de Mr. Brainwash, tomando una fama inusitada y ganando millones de dólares a partir del «Arte». Al final podemos hacernos muchas preguntas; nosotros sólo hacemos una: ¿por qué los museos siempre terminan en la tienda de regalos.
