Uno no se lo imagina como capit\u00e1n del equipo de f\u00fatbol de su instituto ni como un antih\u00e9roe canalla. No. Su porte desgarbado, su cr\u00e1neo despoblado y esas gafas redondas le confieren un aire de hombre gris, de esos que te encontrar\u00edas al otro lado de cualquier mostrador institucional. Este autor no imagina superh\u00e9roes ni provoca carcajadas. Su est\u00e9tica es g\u00e9lida, sus personajes as\u00e9pticos y sus escenarios hier\u00e1ticos. Cubre p\u00e1ginas enteras con vi\u00f1etas solo sutilmente diferentes entre s\u00ed para lograr un ritmo repetitivo que parece suspender la narraci\u00f3n, dando como resultado unas asombrosas p\u00e1ginas fractales; en otras ocasiones, intercala alambicados diagramas o instrucciones para dar forma a un recortable en medio de la historia; y siempre subyacen en su est\u00e9tica agudas referencias al dise\u00f1o gr\u00e1fico americano de d\u00e9cadas ya lejanas.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_95054\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-95054\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-95054\" src=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Chris-Ware-The-Smartest-Kid-on-Earth-epR-gr-021.jpg\" alt=\"Chris Ware, The Smartest Kid on Earth epR gr-021\" width=\"1024\" height=\"416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Chris-Ware-The-Smartest-Kid-on-Earth-epR-gr-021.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Chris-Ware-The-Smartest-Kid-on-Earth-epR-gr-021-300x122.jpg 300w, https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Chris-Ware-The-Smartest-Kid-on-Earth-epR-gr-021-696x283.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-95054\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Chris Ware<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Al mismo tiempo, Ware es consciente de la importancia que ha tenido el formato en la historia del c\u00f3mic, desde las tiras de prensa de finales del XIX hasta las actuales novelas gr\u00e1ficas. Y \u00e9l ha ensayado todos ellos de una forma libre, promiscua, casi lasciva. Su\u00a0<em>Building Stories<\/em>\u00a0ha sido el experimento total desde ese punto de vista; imposible mirar un tebeo con los mismos ojos despu\u00e9s de haber tenido esa obra en las manos. Como imposible es mirarse a uno mismo del mismo modo despu\u00e9s de haber conocido a Jimmy Corrigan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Notas<br \/>\n<sup>1<\/sup>. Durante una charla dentro de un <a href=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/es\/ciudad-y-dibujo-%C2%B7-taller-de-verano-2014-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">curso sobre arquitectura y dibujo<\/a>\u00a0present\u00e9 a varios autores de c\u00f3mic cuyo trabajo se relacionaba con la ciudad; mostr\u00e9 trabajos de Mattotti, Fior o Delisle. Por \u00faltimo hice referencia a <em>Building Stories<\/em>. Al finalizar, pregunt\u00e9 a los presentes qu\u00e9 grafismo les hab\u00eda resultado m\u00e1s atractivo y cu\u00e1l menos.
