Los primeros pilotos volaban tan solo mirando hacia el horizonte y los puntos de referencia en tierra. Esto ten\u00eda una seria desventaja, ya que las nubes a menudo obstaculizaban la visi\u00f3n del horizonte y de tierra firme. Archie William League (1907-1986), quien es reconocido como el primer controlador a\u00e9reo, el fue contratado por la ciudad para dirigir el creciente trafico en San Luis Lambert Field y su torre de control era una carretilla que usaba para cargar en el verano una sombrilla de playa, una silla, su almuerzo una libreta para anotaciones y un par de banderillas para dirigir los aviones.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7298\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7298\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/h1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7298\" title=\"h1\" src=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/h1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7298\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">por atcchile.cl<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La creciente demanda de fiabilidad en el transporte y en los servicios de vuelos de pasajeros llev\u00f3 al desarrollo de instrumentaci\u00f3n de vuelo, se comenz\u00f3 con la introducci\u00f3n en 1921 de los faros rotatorios colocados entre Columbus y Daytona, Ohio a distancias de 80nm entre si los cuales eran visibles a los pilotos y giraban a intervalos de 10 segundos, esto hizo posible la implementaci\u00f3n de la ruta durante las noches pero aun as\u00ed esto no era suficiente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El desarrollo de la radio fue de gran importancia para la aviaci\u00f3n ya para la primera guerra se utilizaba en algunos aviones pudiendo comunicarse el piloto con personas en la tierra su primer uso fue para transmitir el estado meteorol\u00f3gico. Con el aumento del tr\u00e1fico se hizo necesario alg\u00fan tipo de control coordinado y fue entonces cuando naci\u00f3 el servicio de control a\u00e9reo. El departamento de comercio de los estados unidos hizo construir 83 radiofaros que para 1932 estaban operables transmitiendo se\u00f1ales las cuales los pilotos pod\u00edan seguir hasta su destino luego vinieron los NDB y los VOR. El control a\u00e9reo se desenvolv\u00eda usando el tiempo como la base para el control. Cada aeronave ten\u00eda un preciso horario de despegue y tiempos de cruces fijos. Los aeroplanos que volaban por la misma ruta eran guiados usando figurillas de pl\u00e1stico movidas manualmente a lo largo de enormes mapas horizontales en las salas de ATC. Uno ascend\u00eda y el otro descend\u00eda. El Congreso mand\u00f3 que se hiciese algo y se cre\u00f3 el ATC basado en radar.
