Siempre ha capturado nuestra atenci\u00f3n porque representa lo que parece escasear m\u00e1s en el momento actual en el mundo de la arquitectura: la coherencia entre discurso y vida. Coherencia que adem\u00e1s, en el caso de Le Corbusier, ata\u00f1e a un estilo de vida austero destinado en forma muy importante a comprobar en s\u00ed mismo, en sus h\u00e1bitos, lo que propon\u00eda como arquitecto. Cuya idea central era mejorar las condiciones de vida del hombre mediante la edificaci\u00f3n de una arquitectura que respondiera a nuevos modos de hacer ciudad, de organizar el espacio cotidiano, nuevos criterios sobre los patrones de la vida en familia y en sociedad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esa coherencia es lo que llev\u00f3 a Le Corbusier a construir este Cabanon de dimensiones m\u00ednimas (3.66 x 3.66 m.) en el patio lateral del restorancito (\u201cL\u2019\u00c9toile de Mer\u201d) de su viejo amigo Thomas Rebutato, en la ladera que desciende desde la l\u00ednea f\u00e9rrea que sirve a Roquebrune-CapMartin, hacia el mediterr\u00e1neo. Le Corbusier hab\u00eda hecho amistad con \u00e9l gracias a sus asiduas visitas a la cercana casa de la arquitecta y dise\u00f1adora irlandesa Eileen Gray y Jean Badovici, \u00e9ste \u00faltimo editor de los primeros escritos de Le Corbusier, construida en 1927 seg\u00fan los criterios racionalistas del temprano \u201cMovimiento Moderno\u201d. Le Corbusier solicit\u00f3 autorizaci\u00f3n para construir la caba\u00f1a a su amigo Rebutato y, seg\u00fan su testimonio, el 30 de Diciembre de i951, sobre una de las mesas del restor\u00e1n, la dise\u00f1\u00f3:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2026dibuj\u00e9, para regal\u00e1rselos a mi mujer con motivo de su cumplea\u00f1os, los planos de una caba\u00f1ita \u2026hechos en \u00be de hora\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pero la realizaci\u00f3n detallada, la \u201cpuesta en limpio\u201d habr\u00eda de tardar mucho m\u00e1s tiempo, tan estudiado fue el equipamiento interno, cuyo dise\u00f1o segu\u00eda las normas del sistema dimensional desarrollado por Le Corbusier, el Modulor, Durante ese per\u00edodo el gran ingeniero franc\u00e9s Jean Prouv\u00e9 (1901-1984) fue llamado como colaborador con la aparente intenci\u00f3n de construirla en acero. Sin embargo, esa colaboraci\u00f3n no continu\u00f3 y tanto el mobiliario interno como el envoltorio exterior se realiz\u00f3 en madera. Un peque\u00f1o lavamanos met\u00e1lico separa la mesa de la cama y junto a la cabecera de esta \u00faltima est\u00e1 el cub\u00edculo del WC, separado del ambiente por una cortina de lona, enfrentado al pasadizo de entrada decorado por un hermoso mural pintado por el arquitecto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se trata de un min\u00fasculo container concebido como el interior de un camarote destinado a dormir y asearse justo al lado del lugar donde podr\u00eda comer como un parroquiano m\u00e1s. M\u00e1s all\u00e1, hacia la izquierda de la vista al mar, a unos pasos de distancia, hay otra caba\u00f1ita, m\u00e1s provisional, m\u00e1s desprovista y no accesible al visitante tur\u00edstico, que es el sitio de trabajo donde dibujaba sus planos o pintaba, en esos treinta d\u00edas al a\u00f1o de verano caliente y descanso, t\u00edpicamente europeos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ya en el a\u00f1o en el que Le Corbusier construye el Cabanon era un hombre de fama universal. Mientras lo hac\u00eda estaba terminando la Unidad de Marsella y comenzaba los estudios de la nueva ciudad de Chandigarh en La India. Pero en lugar de ver su residencia veraniega como una \u201cvilla\u201d m\u00e1s a la orilla del mar, decide establecer un \u201cpunto de mira\u201d un espacio m\u00ednimo vital que no desea irrumpir en su entorno, para convivir con el d\u00eda a d\u00eda de ese lugar recluido que hab\u00eda aprendido a amar. Toma entonces el arquitecto el deseo de estar all\u00ed en sitio privado como una oportunidad de experimentaci\u00f3n en s\u00ed mismo en t\u00e9rminos de contenci\u00f3n, de disfrute con la naturaleza, de convivencia quieta con un ambiente humano y natural.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por eso hablo de coherencia, de testimonio, de modo de vivir que quiere ser frugal. Una actitud radicalmente diferente a la que hoy prevalece.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Al visitar esta especie de celda de monje secular que es un testimonio vivo de una filosof\u00eda de vida estamos a mucha distancia de la fiesta de amaneramientos costosos que es la arquitectura de estos d\u00edas. Ha sido declarada monumento patrimonial, el m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o de Francia, un pa\u00eds colmado de castillos fabulosos. Esa decisi\u00f3n nos habla de lo que constituye una cultura. Entre tantas cosas, la huella de los hombres claves en el transcurrir humano. M\u00e1is al\u00f3, cara \u00e1 esquerda da vista ao mar, a uns pasos de distancia, hai outra caba\u00f1ita, m\u00e1is provisional, m\u00e1is desprovista e non accesible ao visitante tur\u00edstico, que \u00e9 o sitio de traballo onde debuxaba os seus planos ou pintaba, neses trinta d\u00edas ao ano de ver\u00e1n quente e descanso, tipicamente europeos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Xa no ano no que Le Corbusier constr\u00fae o Cabanon era un home de fama universal. Mentres o fac\u00eda estaba a terminar a Unidade de Marsella e comezaba os estudos da nova cidade de Chandigarh na India. It has always captured our attention because it represents what seems to be scarce at the present time in the world of architecture: coherence between discourse and life. Consistency that also, in the case of Le Corbusier, concerns an austere lifestyle destined in a very important way to verify in himself, in his habits, what he proposed as an architect. Whose central idea was to improve the living conditions of man by building an architecture that responded to new ways of making a city, of organizing daily space, new criteria on the patterns of life in family and society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That coherence is what led Le Corbusier to build this Cabanon of minimum dimensions (3.66 x 3.66 m.) In the side patio of the restorancito (\u201cL&#8217;\u00c9toile de Mer\u201d) of his old friend Thomas Rebutato, on the slope that descends from the railway line that serves Roquebrune-CapMartin, towards the Mediterranean. Le Corbusier had made friends with him thanks to his frequent visits to the nearby house of the Irish architect and designer Eileen Gray and Jean Badovici, the latter editor of the first writings of Le Corbusier, built in 1927 according to the rationalist criteria of the early \u201cMovement Modern\u201d. Le Corbusier requested authorization to build the cabin to his friend Rebutato and, according to his testimony, on December 30, i951, on one of the restaurant tables, he designed it:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c&#8230; I drew, to give them to my wife on the occasion of her birthday, the plans of a little cabin &#8230; made in \u00be hour &#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But the detailed realization, the \u00abcleanup\u00bb would take much longer, so studied was the internal equipment, whose design followed the norms of the dimensional system developed by Le Corbusier, the Modulor, During that period the great French engineer Jean Prouv\u00e9 (1901-1984) was called as a collaborator with the apparent intention of building it in steel. However, this collaboration did not continue and both the internal furniture and the outer wrapping were made of wood. A small metal sink separates the table from the bed and next to the headboard of the latter is the toilet cubicle, separated from the environment by a canvas curtain, facing the entrance passageway decorated by a beautiful mural painted by the architect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is a tiny container conceived as the interior of a cabin destined to sleep and clean right next to the place where you could eat like a parishioner. Beyond, to the left of the ocean view, a few steps away, there is another cabin, more provisional, more devoid and not accessible to the tourist visitor, which is the workplace where he drew his plans or painted, in those thirty Hot summer days and rest, typically European.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Already in the year in which Le Corbusier built the Cabanon was a man of universal fame. While doing so he was finishing the Marseille Unit and began studying the new city of Chandigarh in India. But instead of seeing his summer residence as a \u201cvilla\u201d more on the seashore, he decides to establish a \u201cpoint of view\u201d a minimum vital space that he does not want to break into his surroundings, to live with the day to day of that place secluded who had learned to love. The architect then takes the desire to be there in a private place as an opportunity for experimentation in itself in terms of containment, enjoyment with nature, quiet coexistence with a natural and human environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That is why I speak of coherence, of testimony, of a way of life that wants to be frugal. A radically different attitude to what prevails today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By visiting this kind of cell of a secular monk that is a living testimony of a philosophy of life, we are a long way from the costly daybreak party that is the architecture of these days. It has been declared a heritage monument, the smallest in France, a country full of fabulous castles. That decision tells us what constitutes a culture.
