Toda maqueta es una prospecci\u00f3n a futuro, una promesa, un deseo, la imagen ideal de un pensamiento de lo que deber\u00e1 ser la arquitectura. Arquitectura antes de la arquitectura o arquitectura sin un lugar o arquitectura en cualquier lugar.<\/p>\n

Construir una maqueta es anticipar ese futuro; es establecer de antemano (y sin riesgo de equivocarse) una determinada concepci\u00f3n del mundo o de un territorio; una representaci\u00f3n a escala de una idea que devendr\u00e1 espacio tangible, real, habitable. Como apunta el escritor y periodista Juan Jos\u00e9 Millas<\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cEn las maquetas no hay huelguistas, ni manifestantes, ni pobres, no hay cacas de perro, no hay viento, jam\u00e1s llueve, no hace ni fr\u00edo ni calor. De la maqueta no llegan gritos de contribuyentes indignados preguntando a las autoridades de d\u00f3nde van a sacar el dinero para la obra fara\u00f3nica que se proponen perpetrar. En las maquetas, los retretes est\u00e1n siempre limpios y los \u00e1rboles son de hoja perenne y el agua del estanque es cristalina.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Por eso la maqueta es la herramienta preferida de pol\u00edticos y arquitectos que, que como no pueden controlar el mundo que les rodea, prefieren imaginarlo en miniatura, respondiendo a lo que dec\u00eda Bachelard<\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201c[poseemos] el mundo tanto m\u00e1s cuanta mayor habilidad tenga[mos] para miniaturizarlo\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

La destrucci\u00f3n (parcial) de la maqueta no s\u00f3lo contestar\u00eda a la idea establecida por Millas, sino que trata de posicionarse en la voluntad de que la arquitectura no puede solidificar modelos ideales, limpios y ordenados.<\/p>\n

Si una maqueta es, como ya se ha dicho, una mirada al futuro, la maqueta quemada representa entonces la propia noci\u00f3n de fracaso: Una promesa frustrada, un futuro imperfecto, una utop\u00eda sin utop\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Constru\u00edr unha maqueta \u00e9 anticipar ese futuro; \u00e9 establecer de antem\u00e1n (e sen risco de equivocarse) unha determinada concepci\u00f3n do mundo ou dun territorio; unha representaci\u00f3n a escala dunha idea que devir\u00e1 espazo tanxible, real, habitable. Como apunta o escritor e xornalista Juan Jos\u00e9 Millas<\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cNas maquetas non hai folguistas, nin manifestantes, nin pobres, non hai cacas de can, non hai vento, xamais chove, non fai nin fr\u00edo nin calor. Da maqueta non chegan berros de contribu\u00edntes indignados preguntando \u00e1s autoridades de onde van sacar o di\u00f1eiro para a obra fara\u00f3nica que se propo\u00f1en perpetrar. Nas maquetas, os retretes est\u00e1n sempre limpos e as \u00e1rbores son de folla perenne e a auga do estanque \u00e9 cristalina.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Por iso a maqueta \u00e9 a ferramenta preferida de pol\u00edticos e arquitectos que, que como non poden controlar o mundo que lles rodea, prefiren imaxinalo en miniatura, respondendo ao que dic\u00eda Bachelard<\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n

A destruci\u00f3n (parcial) da maqueta non s\u00f3 contestar\u00eda \u00e1 idea establecida por Millas, sen\u00f3n que trata de posicionarse na vontade de que a arquitectura non pode solidificar modelos ideais, limpos e ordenados.<\/p>\n

Se unha maqueta \u00e9, como xa se dixo, unha mirada ao futuro, a maqueta queimada representa ent\u00f3n a propia noci\u00f3n de fracaso: Unha promesa frustrada, un futuro imperfecto, unha utop\u00eda sen utop\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Any model is an exploration to future, a promise, a desire, the ideal image of a thought of what will have to be the architecture. Architecture before the architecture or architecture without a place or architecture in any place.<\/p>\n

Constructing a model is to anticipate this future; it is to establish in advance (and without risk of being wrong) a certain conception of the world or of a territorio; a representation to scale of an idea that will develop tangible, royal, inhabitable space. Since there appears the writer and journalist\u00a0Juan Jos\u00e9 Millas<\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the models there are neither strikers, nor demonstrators, nor poor, there are no shits of dog, there is no wind, it never rains, does neither cold nor heat. From the model there do not come shouts of indignant contributors asking the authorities wherefrom they are going to extract the money for the pharaonic work that they propose to perpetrate. In the models, the lavatories are always clean and the trees are of everlasting leaf and the water of the reservoir is crystalline.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Because of it the model is the favorite tool of politicians and architects who, that since they cannot control the world that they makes a detour, prefer imagining it in miniature, answering to what\u00a0Bachelard<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>was saying:<\/p>\n

\u201c(We) [possess] the world so much more all the major skill has [have] to miniaturize it\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The (partial) destruction of the model not only would answer to the idea established by Miles, but it tries to be positioned in the will of which the architecture cannot harden ideal, clean and tidy models.<\/p>\n

If a model is, since already a look has been said, to the future, the burnt model represents then the own notion of failure: A frustrated promise, an imperfect future, a Utopia without Utopia.<\/p>\n

M\u00e1s bien, me interesa entender c\u00f3mo las representaciones de la arquitectura, el paisaje, el dise\u00f1o o el territorio construyen y materializan determinados discursos ideol\u00f3gicos, imponiendo posturas, subjetividades y formas de acci\u00f3n sobre los cuerpos que la habitan. En mi trabajo edito estos discursos \u2013sus im\u00e1genes, sus historias o sus restos materiales\u2013 y reelaboro comentarios cr\u00edticos que ponen en evidencia sus controversias y contradicciones, formaliz\u00e1ndolos en diversos formatos como textos, fotograf\u00edas, v\u00eddeos, objetos o instalaciones, muchas veces entrecruzados entre s\u00ed. He publicado art\u00edculos y ensayos en diversos medios de Estados Unidos, Italia, Croacia, Espa\u00f1a, Chile y M\u00e9xico.
