Ljubljana es de Ravnikar, tanto o m\u00e1s que de <a href=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/tag\/joze-plecnik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ple\u010dnik<\/a>, aunque no siempre se reconoce. Junto con <a href=\"https:\/\/sl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edo_Mihevc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Edo Mihevc <\/a>fue el fundador de la nueva escuela de arquitectura de la Eslovenia socialista o Eslovenia yugoslava que dio paso a la Eslovenia actual. Hablamos de un pa\u00eds de peque\u00f1a escala, compacto aunque no homog\u00e9neo, entre los Alpes y el Adri\u00e1tico y, por extensi\u00f3n, Mediterr\u00e1neo, con una identificaci\u00f3n racional con la Mitteleuropa \u2013 Austria y Chequia sobre todo- y otra, sentimental, con el sur. Gracias a la sucesi\u00f3n Ple\u010dnik-Ravnikar, la arquitectura eslovena consigui\u00f3 una transici\u00f3n a la modernidad coherente, consecuente con su tradici\u00f3n y sin rupturas t\u00edpicas de los pa\u00edses del este donde el cambio del sistema pol\u00edtico o giros dentro del mismo sistema dictaban cambios de representaci\u00f3n arquitect\u00f3nica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La nueva Yugoslavia que resucit\u00f3 de la Segunda guerra mundial reunificada bajo el signo socialista, sigui\u00f3, en una primera etapa, la arquitectura del realismo socialista, nacional en la forma y socialista en el contenido. Los primeros a\u00f1os de la posguerra fueron tiempo de la fren\u00e9tica b\u00fasqueda por una forma nacional en cada una de las rep\u00fablicas constituyentes. Al mismo tiempo hubo una b\u00fasqueda por una representaci\u00f3n arquitect\u00f3nica del estado plurinacional, concentrada en los grandes proyectos para Belgrado, la capital. Pero, antes de que tuviera capacidad econ\u00f3mica para construir a grane escala, Yugoslavia rompi\u00f3 las relaciones con la URSS en 1948 y antes que el resto de los pa\u00edses socialistas empez\u00f3 el proceso de desestalinizaci\u00f3n. Este proceso tuvo su reflejo arquitect\u00f3nico mucho m\u00e1s potente que el primero. Sus primeras colaboraciones con su maestro en la Biblioteca nacional y un breve paso por el despacho de Le Corbusier en 1939, marcar\u00edan la capacidad de Ravnikar de hacer de puente entre las narrativas pol\u00edticamente determinadas y aparentemente contradictorias.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Su primer gran proyecto individual, la Galer\u00eda del Arte\u00a0Moderno de Ljubljana, proyectada entre 1936 y 1939, pero acabada ya en el socialismo, en 1951, sigui\u00f3 la ense\u00f1anza de Ple\u010dnik. El impacto del aprendizaje directo de Le Corbusier se revel\u00f3 primero en dos propuestas urban\u00edsticas de los primeros a\u00f1os de la posguerra: en 1947 Ravnikar proyect\u00f3 el centro de Nueva Belgrado (o centro de la futura gran Belgrado) sobre una base de ciudad radiante con la \u201ccity\u201d completamente dedicada a las funciones de administraci\u00f3n y direcci\u00f3n estatal. En su propuesta para el rascacielos del Comit\u00e9 Central del Partido Comunista (por el cual gan\u00f3 uno de los segundos premios en el concurso sin ganador) qued\u00f3 incrustado el famoso rascacielos de Argelia, proyecto en el que hab\u00eda trabajado en Paris. Otra ciudad que no se realiz\u00f3 seg\u00fan su proyecto de 1948 fue Nova Goriza, la primera ciudad socialista eslovena situada delante de la Vieja Goriza que el nuevo trazado de fronteras dej\u00f3 en Italia capitalista. Otra vez consider\u00f3 el urbanismo de Le Corbusier un veh\u00edculo ideal, no s\u00f3lo para un funcionamiento \u00f3ptimo de la ciudad, sino tambi\u00e9n como una herramienta representativa para expresar la modernidad del nuevo sistema pol\u00edtico.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_66331\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66331\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-66331\" src=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Filtro-local-de-Edvard-Ravnikar-Jelena-Prokopljevi\u0107-rab-1024x803.jpg\" alt=\"Memorial Kampor, isla de Rab. Maqueta<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La primera ciudad realizada de Ravnikar fue una necr\u00f3polis: el cementerio y memorial a las v\u00edctimas del campo de concentraci\u00f3n de los fascistas italianos en Kampor, isla de Rab en la actual Croacia. La obra se inaugur\u00f3 en 1953, para conmemorar el d\u00e9cimo aniversario de la liberaci\u00f3n de los prisioneros. En la \u00e9poca del todav\u00eda vigente realismo socialista y su ret\u00f3rica figurativa en temas monumentales y memoriales, Ravnikar propuso una necr\u00f3polis arcaica, con planta de la ciudad funcional organizada alrededor de la avenida central con hileras de bloques de piedra que marcan las tumbas. La necr\u00f3polis est\u00e1 cerrada con pared opaca perimetral que limita el paso pero no la vista, construida de piedra local colocada como en las casas tradicionales de Dalmacia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El recinto se organiza en forma de recorrido, de una <em>promenade architecturelle<\/em>, empezando por el vest\u00edbulo de piedra, con dos columnas aparentemente d\u00f3ricas de media altura y una urna cil\u00edndrica. El memorial no pertenece a ninguna religi\u00f3n, tampoco a ninguna naci\u00f3n: en un acto po\u00e9tico, la urna recoge la tierra de lugares de origen de los muertos que se pudieron identificar. El camino, de hecho el canal pluvial central, transcurre entre las tumbas, que tambi\u00e9n forman las terrazas del terreno, descendiendo y quebr\u00e1ndose. Hacia el final est\u00e1 el peque\u00f1o museo que al principio conten\u00eda las reliquias macabras del campo: el l\u00e1tigo y las cadenas. M\u00e1s que museo es una cripta, que repite la forma de la cripta de la Iglesia de Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n de Praga de Ple\u010dnik. Tambi\u00e9n utiliza las viguetas de piedra que sobresalen de la cubierta al estilo de las catedrales d\u00e1lmatas (sobre todo, la de \u0160ibenik del m\u00edtico Juraj Dalmatinac).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Al final del recorrido no hay nada: abertura en la pared para ver el mar. Kampor es una mezcla de referencias de <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jo%C5%BEe_Ple%C4%8Dnik\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ple\u010dnik<\/a>, Terragni, Le Corbusier, de los cl\u00e1sicos y de la arquitectura y artesan\u00eda local, un monumento moderno y arcaico, concebido desde la proximidad y las sensaciones, como la mejor manera de explicar las complejidades hist\u00f3ricas del lugar.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_66338\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66338\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-66338\" src=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Filtro-local-de-Edvard-Ravnikar-Jelena-Prokopljevi\u0107-museo-o-cripta-exterior-1024x371.jpg\" alt=\"Museo o cripta exterior | Museo interior\" width=\"640\" height=\"232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Filtro-local-de-Edvard-Ravnikar-Jelena-Prokopljevi\u0107-museo-o-cripta-exterior-1024x371.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Filtro-local-de-Edvard-Ravnikar-Jelena-Prokopljevi\u0107-museo-o-cripta-exterior-300x109.jpg 300w, https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Filtro-local-de-Edvard-Ravnikar-Jelena-Prokopljevi\u0107-museo-o-cripta-exterior.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-66338\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Museo o cripta exterior | Museo interior<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1960 Ravnikar gan\u00f3 el concurso para el nuevo centro pol\u00edtico de Ljubljana, la Plaza de la Revoluci\u00f3n \u2013hoy Plaza de la Republica- cuya construcci\u00f3n se prolong\u00f3 durante m\u00e1s de 20 a\u00f1os, suponiendo importantes cambios en el dise\u00f1o. Se trata de la plaza m\u00e1s grande de la ciudad y, por supuesto, del s\u00edmbolo de la nueva Ljubljana. Con el parlamento nacional en el extremo norte, la plaza se compone de dos potentes verticales que hacen de portal y varios vol\u00famenes bajos de oficinas, centro comercial, instituto y centro cultural y de congresos Cankarjev Dom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Inicialmente, las dos torres de planta triangular, que al final de la construcci\u00f3n s\u00f3lo llegaron a la altura de 12 plantas, iban a ser la sede del Comit\u00e9 Central del Partido Comunista Esloveno y el Consejo Ejecutivo de la Rep\u00fablica. Acabaron siendo las an\u00f3nimas TR2 y TR3, sedes administrativas de la compa\u00f1\u00eda electr\u00f3nica Iskra y del Banco de Ljubljana. Las torres marcan y delimitan por un lado la plaza del parlamento \u2013plaza de rituales socio-pol\u00edticos y, por el otro, la plaza urbana con los contenidos, recorridos y v\u00ednculos. El exceso de planificaci\u00f3n socialista hizo que la plaza del parlamento en pocas ocasiones dejara de ser utilizada como parking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Consciente de estar marcando el perfil de la ciudad, Ravnikar piensa la Plaza y sus contenidos, desde la proximidad, desde la perspectiva peatonal y desde las vistas que se abren y tapan hacia la plaza o hacia sus barrios vecinos. Como en la isla de Rab, los materiales y las texturas son su filtro local: las dos torres tienen un acabado de placas de piedra fijadas con tornillos que recuerdan detalles Wagnerianos, as\u00ed como el cobre oxidado verde de las exageradas plantas t\u00e9cnicas (que marcan el n\u00facleo estructural y suplementan la altura perdida), acercan al contexto centroeuropeo. La planta baja \u2013las entradas a las torres y otros centros- fue tratada de manera muy variada: se insisti\u00f3 en la pluralidad de formas, materiales, desniveles y recorridos, para crear un paisaje urbano, antes que una plaza central. Ravnikar entendi\u00f3 las continuas modificaciones impuestas como parte de un proceso proyectual abierto, incorporando elementos de sus proyectos posteriores e influencias extranjeras: ladrillo del complejo residencial Ferantov Vrt o del hotel Creina de Kranj; hormig\u00f3n brut de Le Corbusier, elementos prefabricados \u2013estructurales y no estructurales- que en los a\u00f1os 70 ten\u00edan un gran protagonismo en la arquitectura yugoslava; aplacado met\u00e1lico como en el centro comercial Globus de Kranj (que de hecho fue la primera fachada de acero cor-ten en Yugoslavia); aplacados de piedras y grandes superficies de vidrio, ya t\u00edpicos del modernismo socialista.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La forma y detalles del centro cultural Cankarjev Dom a menudo se han relacionado con el centro Finlandia de Alvar Aalto. Quiso replantearse el clasicismo local de Ple\u010dnik que lo hab\u00eda impreso sobre Ljubljana no como formas propias, sino como proyecci\u00f3n que mejor le sentaba. Volvi\u00f3 creyendo que no exist\u00eda contradicci\u00f3n importante entre el mejor modernismo y la esencia del clasicismo. En 1957 habl\u00f3 sobre su maestro de una manera que tambi\u00e9n se refiere a su propia obra:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cPle\u010dnik dominaba a la perfecci\u00f3n la expresi\u00f3n en arquitectura. La expresi\u00f3n que significa parte de la vida inscrita en el material de construcci\u00f3n. Tal vez esta particularidad es la caracter\u00edstica m\u00e1s inaccesible de la arquitectura; a saber, que la traza de la mano humana en el material constructivo es uno de los recuerdos m\u00e1s \u00edntimos que se dirige directamente a la inteligencia. Se puede leer con fluidez siglos m\u00e1s tarde, incluso si fuera creado en el otro lado del mundo. Ljubljana \u00e9 de Ravnikar, tanto ou m\u00e1is que de <a href=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/gl\/tag\/joze-plecnik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ple\u010dnik<\/a>, a\u00ednda que non sempre se reco\u00f1ece. Xunto con <a href=\"https:\/\/sl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edo_Mihevc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Edo Mihevc<\/a> foi o fundador da nova escola de arquitectura da Eslovenia socialista ou Eslovenia iugoslava que deu paso \u00e1 Eslovenia actual. Falamos dun pa\u00eds de pequena escala, compacto a\u00ednda que non homox\u00e9neo, entre os Alpes e o Adri\u00e1tico e, por extensi\u00f3n, Mediterr\u00e1neo, cunha identificaci\u00f3n racional coa Mitteleuropa \u2013\u00a0Austria e Chequia sobre todo\u2013\u00a0e outra, sentimental, co sur. Grazas \u00e1 sucesi\u00f3n Ple\u010dnik-Ravnikar,\u00a0, a arquitectura eslovena conseguiu unha transici\u00f3n \u00e1 modernidade coherente, consecuente coa s\u00faa tradici\u00f3n e sen rupturas t\u00edpicas dos pa\u00edses do leste onde o cambio do sistema pol\u00edtico ou xiros dentro do mesmo sistema ditaban cambios de representaci\u00f3n arquitect\u00f3nica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A nova Iugoslavia que resucitou da Segunda guerra mundial reunificada baixo o signo socialista, seguiu, nunha primeira etapa, a arquitectura do realismo socialista, nacional na forma e socialista no contido. Os primeiros anos da posguerra foron tempo da fren\u00e9tica procura por unha forma nacional en cada unha das rep\u00fablicas constitu\u00edntes. Ao mesmo tempo houbo unha procura por unha representaci\u00f3n arquitect\u00f3nica do estado plurinacional, concentrada nos grandes proxectos para Belgrado, a capital. Pero, antes de que tivese capacidade econ\u00f3mica para constru\u00edr a grane escala, Iugoslavia rompeu as relaci\u00f3ns coa URSS en 1948 e antes que o resto dos pa\u00edses socialistas empezou o proceso de desestalinizaci\u00f3n. Este proceso tivo o seu reflexo arquitect\u00f3nico moito m\u00e1is potente que o primeiro. As s\u00faas primeiras colaboraci\u00f3ns co seu mestre na Biblioteca nacional e un breve paso polo despacho de Le Corbusier en 1939, marcar\u00edan a capacidade de Ravnikar de facer de ponte entre as narrativas politicamente determinadas e aparentemente contraditorias.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O seu primeiro gran proxecto individual, a Galer\u00eda da arte Moderno de Ljubljana, proxectada entre 1936 e 1939, pero acabada xa no socialismo, en 1951, seguiu o ensino de Ple\u010dnik. O impacto da aprendizaxe directa de Lle Corbusier revelouse primeiro en d\u00faas propostas urban\u00edsticas dos primeiros anos da posguerra: en 1947 Ravnikar proxectou o centro de Nova Belgrado (ou centro da futura gran Belgrado) sobre unha base de cidade radiante coa \u201ccity\u201d completamente dedicada \u00e1s funci\u00f3ns de administraci\u00f3n e direcci\u00f3n estatal. Na s\u00faa proposta para o ra\u00f1aceos do Comit\u00e9 Central do Partido Comunista (polo cal ga\u00f1ou un dos segundos premios no concurso sen ga\u00f1ador) quedou incrustado o famoso ra\u00f1aceos de Alxeria, proxecto no que traballara en Paris. Outra cidade que non se realizou segundo o seu proxecto de 1948 foi Nova Goriza, a primeira cidade socialista eslovena situada diante da Vella Goriza que o novo trazado de fronteiras deixou en Italia capitalista. Maqueta<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A primeira cidade realizada de Ravnikar foi unha necr\u00f3pole: o cemiterio e memorial \u00e1s v\u00edtimas do campo de concentraci\u00f3n dos fascistas italianos en Kampor, illa de Rab na actual Croacia. A obra inaugurouse en 1953, para conmemorar o d\u00e9cimo aniversario da liberaci\u00f3n dos prisioneiros. Na \u00e9poca do a\u00ednda vixente realismo socialista e a s\u00faa ret\u00f3rica figurativa en temas monumentais e memoriales, Ravnikar propuxo unha necr\u00f3pole arcaica, con planta da cidade funcional organizada ao redor da avenida central con fileiras de bloques de pedra que marcan as tumbas. A necr\u00f3pole est\u00e1 pechada con parede opaca perimetral que limita o paso pero non a vista, constru\u00edda de pedra local colocada como nas casas tradicionais de Dalmacia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O recinto organ\u00edzase en forma de percorrido, dunha <em>promenade architecturelle<\/em>, empezando polo vest\u00edbulo de pedra, con d\u00faas columnas aparentemente d\u00f3ricas de media altura e unha urna cil\u00edndrica. El camino, de hecho el canal pluvial central, transcurre entre las tumbas, que tambi\u00e9n forman las terrazas del terreno, descendiendo y quebr\u00e1ndose. Hacia el final est\u00e1 el peque\u00f1o museo que al principio conten\u00eda las reliquias macabras del campo: el l\u00e1tigo y las cadenas. M\u00e1s que museo es una cripta, que repite la forma de la cripta de la Iglesia de Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n de Praga de Ple\u010dnik. Tambi\u00e9n utiliza las viguetas de piedra que sobresalen de la cubierta al estilo de las catedrales d\u00e1lmatas (sobre todo, la de \u0160ibenik del m\u00edtico Juraj Dalmatinac).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por iso, tampouco ten un foco \u2013tan s\u00f3 d\u00faas verticais de pedra para marcar o territorio. O cami\u00f1o, de feito a canle pluvial central, transcorre entre as tumbas, que tam\u00e9n forman as terrazas do terreo, descendendo e quebr\u00e1ndose. Cara ao final est\u00e1 o pequeno museo que ao principio conti\u00f1a as reliquias macabras do campo: o l\u00e1tigo e as cadeas. M\u00e1is que museo \u00e9 unha cripta, que repite a forma da cripta da Igrexa de Sacro Coraz\u00f3n de Praga de Ple\u010dnik. Tam\u00e9n utiliza as viguetas de pedra que sobresaen da cuberta ao estilo das catedrais d\u00e1lmatas (sobre todo, a de \u0160ibenik do m\u00edtico Juraj Dalmatinac).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ao final do percorrido non hai nada: abertura na parede para ver o mar. Tr\u00e1tase da praza m\u00e1is grande da cidade e, por suposto, do s\u00edmbolo da nova Ljubljana. Co parlamento nacional no extremo norte, a praza componse de d\u00faas potentes verticais que fan de portal e varios volumes baixos de oficinas, centro comercial, instituto e centro cultural e de congresos Cankarjev Dom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Inicialmente, as d\u00faas torres de planta triangular, que ao final da construci\u00f3n s\u00f3 chegaron \u00e1 altura de 12 plantas, \u00edan ser a sede do Comit\u00e9 Central do Partido Comunista Esloveno e o Consello Executivo da Rep\u00fablica. Acabaron sendo as an\u00f3nimas TR2 e TR3, sedes administrativas da compa\u00f1\u00eda electr\u00f3nica Iskra e do Banco de Ljubljana. As torres marcan e delimitan por unha banda a praza do parlamento \u2013praza de rituais socio-pol\u00edticos e, polo outro, a praza urbana cos contidos, percorridos e v\u00ednculos. O exceso de planificaci\u00f3n socialista fixo que a praza do parlamento en poucas ocasi\u00f3ns deixase de ser utilizada como parking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Consciente de estar a marcar o perfil da cidade, Ravnikar pensa a Praza e os seus contidos, desde a proximidade, desde a perspectiva peonil e desde as vistas que se abren e tapan cara \u00e1 praza ou cara aos seus barrios veci\u00f1os. Como na illa de Rab, os materiais e as texturas son a s\u00faa filtro local: as d\u00faas torres te\u00f1en un acabado de placas de pedra fixadas con parafusos que lembran detalles Wagnerianos, as\u00ed como o cobre oxidado verde das esaxeradas plantas t\u00e9cnicas (que marcan o n\u00facleo estrutural e suplementan a altura perdida), achegan ao contexto centroeuropeo. A planta baixa \u2013as entradas \u00e1s torres e outros centros- foi tratada de maneira moi variada: insistiuse na pluralidade de formas, materiais, desniveis e percorridos, para crear unha paisaxe urbana, antes que unha praza central. Ravnikar entendeu as continuas modificaci\u00f3ns impostas como parte dun proceso proyectual aberto, incorporando elementos dos seus proxectos posteriores e influencias estranxeiras: ladrillo do complexo residencial Ferantov Vrt ou do hotel Creina de Kranj; formig\u00f3n brut de Le Corbusier, elementos prefabricados \u2013estruturais e non estruturais\u2013 que nos anos 70 ti\u00f1an un gran protagonismo na arquitectura iugoslava; aplacado met\u00e1lico como no centro comercial Globus de Kranj (que de feito foi a primeira fachada de aceiro cor-ten en Iugoslavia); aplacados de pedras e grandes superficies de vidro, xa t\u00edpicos do modernismo socialista.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A forma e detalles do centro cultural Cankarjev Dom a mi\u00fado relacion\u00e1ronse co centro Finlandia de Alvar Aalto. Quixo reformularse o clasicismo local de Ple\u010dnik que o hab\u00eda impreso sobre Ljubljana non como formas propias, sen\u00f3n como proxecci\u00f3n que mellor lle sentaba. Volveu crendo que non exist\u00eda contradici\u00f3n importante entre o mellor modernismo e a esencia do clasicismo. En 1957 falou sobre o seu mestre dunha maneira que tam\u00e9n se refire \u00e1 s\u00faa propia obra:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cPle\u010dnik dominaba \u00e1 perfecci\u00f3n a expresi\u00f3n en arquitectura. A expresi\u00f3n que significa parte da vida inscrita no material de construci\u00f3n. Talvez esta particularidade \u00e9 a caracter\u00edstica m\u00e1is inaccesible da arquitectura; a saber, que a traza da man humana no material construtivo \u00e9 un dos recordos m\u00e1is \u00edntimos que se dirixe directamente \u00e1 intelixencia. P\u00f3dese ler con fluidez s\u00e9culos m\u00e1is tarde, mesmo se fose creado no outro lado do mundo. Ljubljana is of Ravnikar, so much or more than of <a href=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/tag\/joze-plecnik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ple\u010dnik<\/a>, though not always it is recognized. Together with <a href=\"https:\/\/sl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edo_Mihevc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Edo Mihevc<\/a> he was the founder of the new school of architecture of the socialist Slovenia or Yugoslavian Slovenia who gave step to the current Slovenia. We speak about a country of small scale, compact though not homogeneous, between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea and, for extension, Mediterranean, with a rational identification with the Mitteleuropa -Austria and Chequia on everything- and other one, sentimental, with the south. Thanks to the succession Ple\u010dnik-Ravnikar, the Slovene architecture obtained a transition to the coherent modernity, consistent with his tradition and without typical breaks of the countries of the East where the change of the political system or drafts inside the same system they were dictating changes of architectural representation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new Yugoslavia that revived of the Second world war reunified under the socialist sign, followed, in the first stage, the architecture of the socialist, national realism in the form and Socialist in the content. The first years of the postwar period were a time of the frantic search for a national form in each of the constituent republics.\u00a0At the same time there was a search for an architectural representation of the condition plurinacional, concentrated in the big projects for Belgrade, the capital. But, before it had economic aptitude to construct to grane scale, Yugoslavia broke the relations with the USSR in 1948 and before that the rest of the socialist countries began the process of desestalinizaci\u00f3n. This process had his architectural great reflection more powerful than the first one. His first collaborations with his teacher in the national Library and a brief step along the Le Corbusier\u00b4s\u00a0office in 1939, would mark Ravnikar&#8217;s aptitude to do of bridge between the politically certain and seemingly contradictory narratives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His first great individual project, the Gallery of the Modern Art of Ljubljana, projected between 1936 and 1939, but ended already in the socialism, in 1951, it followed Ple\u010dnik&#8217;s education.\u00a0The impact of the direct learning Le Corbusier was revealed firstly in two urban development offers of the first years of the postwar period: in 1947 Ravnikar the center projected of New Belgrade (or I centre of future great Belgrade) on a base of radiant city with the \u201ccity\u201d completely dedicated to the functions of administration and state direction.\u00a0In his offer for the skyscraper of the Central Committee of the Communist party (for which it gained one of the second prizes in the contest without winner) there remained incrusted the famous skyscraper of Algeria, project in which it had been employed at Paris. Another city that was not realized according to his project of 1948 was Nova Goriza, the first socialist Slovene city placed in front of the Old woman Goriza that the new tracing of borders left in capitalist Italy. Again Le Corbusier considered the urbanism of ideal vehicle, not only for an ideal functioning of the city, but also as a representative tool to express the modernity of the new political system.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_66331\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66331\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-66331\" src=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Filtro-local-de-Edvard-Ravnikar-Jelena-Prokopljevi\u0107-rab-1024x803.jpg\" alt=\"Memorial Kampor, isla de Rab. The work was inaugurated in 1953, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the liberation of the prisoners. In the epoch of the still in force socialist realism and his figurative rhetoric in monumental topics and briefs, Ravnikar proposed an archaic necropolis, with plant of the functional city organized about the central avenue with rows of blocks of stone that mark the tombs. The necropolis is closed by opaque wall perimetral that limits the step but the sight constructed of local stone placed like in the traditional houses of Dalmatia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The enclosure is organized in the shape of tour, of a promenade architecturelle, beginning for the foyer of stone, with two seemingly Doric columns of half a height and a cylindrical urn. The brief does not belong to any religion, to any nation either: in a poetical act, the urn gathers the land of places of origin of the dead men who could identify. Towards the end there is the small museum that initially was containing the macabre relics of the field: the whip and the chains. More than museum it is a crypt, which repeats the form of the crypt of the Church of Sacred Heart of Ple\u010dnik&#8217;s Prague. Also it uses the joists of stone that stand out of the cover in the style of the dalmatian cathedrals (especially, that of Sibenik of the mythical Juraj Dalmatinac).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of the tour there is nothing: opening in the wall to see the sea. It is a question of the biggest square of the city and, certainly, of the symbol of the new Ljubljana. With the national parliament in the north end, the square consists of two vertical powerful ones that do of portal and several low volumes of offices, mall, institute and cultural center and of congresses Cankarjev Dom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Initially, both towers of triangular plant, which at the end of the construction only came at a height of 12 plants, were going to be the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Slovene Communist party and the Cabinet of the Republic. They ended up by being the anonymous ones TR2 and TR3, administrative headquarters of the electronic company Iskra and of the Bank of Ljubljana. The towers mark and delimit on the one hand the square of the parliament &#8211; square of socio-political rituals and, for other one, the urban square with the contents, tours and links. The excess of socialist planning did that the square of the parliament in few occasions was stopping being used as parking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Conscious of being marking the profile of the city, Ravnikar thinks the Plaza and his contents, from the proximity, from the pedestrian perspective and from the sights that they open and cover towards the square or towards his neighboring neighborhoods. Since in Rab&#8217;s island, the materials and the textures are his local filter: both towers have end of plates of stone fixed with screws that remember Wagnerian details, as well as the rusty green copper of the exagerate technical plants (that mark the structural core and suplementan the lost height), they bring over to the Central European context. The ground floor &#8211; the income to the towers and other centers &#8211; was treated as a very varied way: one insisted on the plurality of forms, materials, differences and tours, to create an urban landscape, before that a central square. Ravnikar understood the continuous modifications imposed as report of a process proyectual opened, incorporating elements of his later projects and foreign influences: brick of the residential complex Ferantov Vrt or of the hotel Creina de Kranj; concrete brut of\u00a0Le Corbusier, prefabricated units &#8211; structural and not structural &#8211; that in the 70s had a great protagonism in the Yugoslavian architecture; appeased metal-worker as in the mall Globus de Kranj (that of fact was the first front of steel cut in Yugoslavia); appeased of stones and big surfaces of glass, already typical of the socialist modernism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The form and details of the cultural center Cankarjev Dom often has related to the center Alvar Aalto&#8217;s Finland. One wanted to restate Ple\u010dnik&#8217;s local classicism that had printed it on Ljubljana not as own forms, but as projection that better was sitting him. It returned thinking that important contradiction did not exist between the best modernism and the essence of the classicism. In 1957 he spoke on his teacher in such a way that also it refers to his own work:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cPle\u010dnik was dominating to the perfection the expression in architecture. The expression that means part of the life inscribed in the material of construction. Maybe this particularity is the most inaccessible characteristic of the architecture namely, that the trace of the hand humanizes in the constructive material is one of the most intimate recollections that goes directly to the intelligence. It is possible to read fluently centuries later, even if it was created in another side of the world. And the anonymity only makes it more powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div id='gallery-12' class='gallery galleryid-66329 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure Adem\u00e1s, suele impartir conferencias y participar en coloquios en lugares como la ETSAB, la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Barcelona (UAB), la fundaci\u00f3n Amigos de la UNESCO de Barcelona o la Universidad Ion Mincu de Bucarest. Adem\u00e1s, suele impartir conferencias y participar en coloquios en lugares como la ETSAB, la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Barcelona (UAB), la fundaci\u00f3n Amigos de la UNESCO de Barcelona o la Universidad Ion Mincu de Bucarest.
