La muestra, producida por la Fundaci\u00f3n ICO<\/strong>, recorre la trayectoria vital y profesional de una de las sociedades de arquitectos m\u00e1s creativas del siglo XX en Espa\u00f1a, integrantes de la generaci\u00f3n del 25.<\/p>\n

El Museo ICO presenta a partir del pr\u00f3ximo 4 de octubre la exposici\u00f3n:\u00a0Carlos Arniches y Mart\u00edn Dom\u00ednguez \u201cLa Arquitectura y la Vida\u201d<\/strong><\/a>. La muestra, producida por la Fundaci\u00f3n ICO, recorre la trayectoria vital y profesional de una de las sociedades de arquitectos m\u00e1s creativas del siglo XX en Espa\u00f1a, integrantes de la generaci\u00f3n del 25.<\/p>\n

Entre 1923\u00a0y 1937, Carlos Arniches\u00a0y Mart\u00edn Dom\u00ednguez formaron una de las sociedades de arquitectos m\u00e1s creativas del s.XX en Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

Influidos por las ideas de la Instituci\u00f3n Libre de Ense\u00f1anza y de la Residencia de Estudiantes, donde Dom\u00ednguez fue residente, sus proyectos en los \u00e1mbitos de la educaci\u00f3n, el turismo o el ocio fueron el reflejo de su compromiso con las nuevas corrientes de pensamiento europeo. Realizaron algunas obras brillantes como el Instituto Escuela (1931), los Albergues de Carretera (1928-1935) y, especialmente, el Hip\u00f3dromo de la Zarzuela (1935), proyectado junto a Eduardo Torroja. Tras la Guerra Civil, sus carreras se separaron. Arniches comenz\u00f3 un largo exilio interior. Dom\u00ednguez se exili\u00f3 y desarroll\u00f3 una destacada carrera en Cuba, donde sobresali\u00f3 en el \u00e1mbito de la vivienda, para exiliarse nuevamente en 1960 a los Estados Unidos. Sus \u00faltimos diez a\u00f1os los pas\u00f3 como docente en la Universidad de Cornell (Ithaca, Nueva York).<\/p>\n

El exilio es un castigo pol\u00edtico y social que trasciende al momento concreto y perdura m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del tiempo vital. El olvido no s\u00f3lo enturbia el pasado, sino que redefine el futuro. Esta exposici\u00f3n tratar\u00e1 de recuperar su memoria.<\/p>\n

\u201cLa muestra recupera la memoria de estos dos arquitectos, destacados integrantes de la generaci\u00f3n del 25.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Las obras de estos arquitectos se enmarcan en el contexto de la \u00e9poca, caracterizado por la transformaci\u00f3n social, cultural, educativa y econ\u00f3mica. Ambos se hab\u00edan formado en la Escuela de Arquitectura de Madrid y este \u00faltimo tambi\u00e9n en la Residencia de Estudiantes, instituci\u00f3n en la que en pocos a\u00f1os coincidieron con toda una generaci\u00f3n brillante de artistas, cient\u00edficos e intelectuales, como Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca, Salvador Dal\u00ed, Severo Ochoa o Luis Bu\u00f1uel. De esos a\u00f1os son algunas de sus obras m\u00e1s importantes como el Instituto Escuela, el auditorio de la Residencia de Estudiantes y especialmente el Hip\u00f3dromo de la Zarzuela.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cSus proyectos\u00a0fueron el reflejo de su compromiso con las nuevas corrientes de pensamiento europeo.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Con el fin de la Rep\u00fablica,la guerra civil y el exilio de ambos arquitectos -de car\u00e1cter interior el de Carlos Arniches y en Cuba y Estados Unidos el de Mart\u00edn Dom\u00ednguez- lo que hab\u00eda sido una trayectoria conjunta, se bifurca definitivamente a finales de 1936.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cUna exposici\u00f3n in\u00e9dita que recorre la trayectoria vital y profesional de ambos artistas, autores de obras tan emblem\u00e1ticas como el Hip\u00f3dromo de Madrid.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Museum ICO presents from next October 4 the exhibition: Carlos Arniches\u00a0and Mart\u00edn Dom\u00ednguez \u201cThe Architecture and the Life\u201d<\/strong><\/a>.. The sample produced by the Foundation ICO, crosses the vital and professional path of one of the architects’ more creative companies of the 20th century in Spain, members of the generation of 25.<\/p>\n

Between 1923 and 1937, Carlos Arniches and Martin Dom\u00ednguez formed one of the architects’ more creative companies of s. The XXth in Spain.<\/p>\n

Influenced by the ideas of the Free Institution of Education and of the Students’ Residence, where Dom\u00ednguez was resident, his projects in the areas of the education, the tourism or the leisure were the reflection of his commitment with the new currents of European thought.\u00a0Some brilliant works realized as the Institute School (1931), the Lodgings roads (1928-1935) and, specially, the Racetrack of the Operetta (1935), projected together with Eduardo Torroja. After the Civil war, his careers separated. Arniches began a long interior exile. Dom\u00ednguez went into exile and developed an out-standing career in Cuba, where it stood out in the area of the housing, to go into exile again in 1960 to the United States. His last ten years it spent them as teacher in Cornell’s University (Ithaca, New York).<\/p>\n

The exile is a political and social punishment that comes out of the concrete moment and lasts beyond the vital time. The oblivion not only muddies the past, but it re-defines the future. This exhibition will try to recover his memory.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sample recovers the memory of these two architects, emphasized members of the generation of 25.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The works of these architects place in the context of the epoch, characterized by the social, cultural, educational and economic transformation. Both had been formed in the School of Architecture of Madrid and the latter also in the Students’ Residence, institution with which with a few years they coincided with the whole brilliant generation of artists, scientific and intellectual, as Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca, Salvador Dal\u00ed, Severo Ochoa or Luis Bu\u00f1uel. Of these years they are some of his more important works as the Institute School, the audience of the Students’ Residence and specially the Racetrack of the Operetta.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cHis projects were the reflection of his commitment with the new currents of European thought.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In order the Republic, the civil war and the exile of both architects – of interior character that of Carlos Arniches and in Cuba and The United States that of Martin Dom\u00ednguez – what had been a joint path, one bifurcates definitively at the end of 1936.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cAn unpublished exhibition that crosses the vital and professional path of both artists, authors of works as emblematic as the Racetrack of Madrid.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Curated for Paul Rabasco and Martin Dom\u00ednguez Ruz will be able turn in the ICO Museum from the next October 4 until January 21.<\/p>\n
