Mediante sucesivas operaciones de encapsulamiento y como si de una narraci\u00f3n de Borges se tratase, el pintor renacentista ubica un espacio dentro de otro y este dentro de uno m\u00e1s. El cuadro enmarca una pared, cuya puerta enmarca un espacio g\u00f3tico dentro del cual una compleja pieza de mobiliario enmarca al santo que da nombre al cuadro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La serie de enmarcaciones sucesivas no se acaba en el protector <em>Scriptorium<\/em> construido entorno a la persona de San Jer\u00f3nimo. La mirada del santo nos dirige hacia la c\u00e1psula definitiva, un contenedor en cuyo interior cabe todo: un libro. A\u00a0San Jer\u00f3nimo se atribuye la primera traducci\u00f3n al lat\u00edn del antiguo testamento conocido como <em>la vulgata<\/em>. Es precisamente ese libro el que brilla con luz propia en el centro \u201caureo\u201d del cuadro y constituye el contenedor definitivo: la narraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tanto el pintor como el traductor centran su mirada en ese libro, si bien ambos lo contemplan desde la distancia. La pose hier\u00e1tica del santo es tan r\u00edgida como la sucesi\u00f3n de enmarcaciones del pintor.\u00a0El complejo y r\u00edgido aparato formado por el mobiliario es como el complejo y r\u00edgido aparato de la perspectiva. Dos productos culturales destinados a enmarcar la narraci\u00f3n, a dirigir nuestra mirada hacia ella. A mirada do santo dir\u00edxenos cara \u00e1 c\u00e1psula definitiva, un colector en cuxo interior cabe todo: un libro. By means of successive operations of encapsulamiento and as if about a story of Borges it was treating itself, the Renaissance painter locates a space inside other one and this inside one more. The picture frames a wall, which door frames a Gothic space inside which a complex piece of furniture frames the saint who gives name to the picture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The series of enmarcaciones successive is not ended in the protector constructed <em>Scriptorium<\/em> I half-close the person of San Jer\u00f3nimo. The look of the saint directs us to the definitive capsule, a container in whose interior fits everything: a book. It attributes the first translation to San Jer\u00f3nimo to the Latin of the former testament known as the vulgata. It is precisely this book the one that shines with own light in the \u201caureum\u201d center of the picture and constitutes the definitive container: the story.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Both the painter and the translator centre his look on this book, though both contemplate it from the distance. Put it hier\u00e1tica of the saint it is so rigid as the succession of enmarcaciones of the painter. The complex and rigid device formed by the furniture is like the complex and rigid device of the perspective. Two cultural products destined to frame the story, to directing our look to her.
