Por mucho que haya existido durante gran parte del siglo XX\u00a0un esfuerzo desde la teor\u00eda por reivindicar la autonom\u00eda de la disciplina, hoy sabemos que la arquitectura se circunscribe, en realidad, en\u00a0un complejo proceso que est\u00e1 afectado por lo econ\u00f3mico, lo social o lo legal. Pretender que\u00a0<em>s\u00f3lo<\/em>\u00a0la arquitectura nos\u00a0<em>salvar\u00e1<\/em>\u00a0es quedarse con una visi\u00f3n reducida de todo esto. Sin embargo, es en ella\u00a0donde mejor se siguen reflejando los cambios, los aciertos y los fracasos detr\u00e1s de determinadas pol\u00edticas, en la medida en que es su concreci\u00f3n material y espacial.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De ah\u00ed su fuerza simb\u00f3lica: de ah\u00ed que la ca\u00edda y la destrucci\u00f3n de un edificio o la violencia que impone, sirven, casi siempre, como met\u00e1fora perfecta de nosotros mismos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2 de octubre de 1968 (6:10 pm)<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00abYo era feliz contigo [\u2026]<br \/>\nHasta que despert\u00e9 de mi locura.<br \/>\nY pude comprender que me ment\u00edas\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1964 el Conjunto Urbano Presidente Adolfo L\u00f3pez Mateos de Nonoalco Tlatelolco luce radiante. LIFE lo retrata con orgullo entre sus p\u00e1ginas como imagen del\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.taringa.net\/posts\/imagenes\/15663386\/Unidad-Habitacional-Tlatelolco-Mexico-de-AYER-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milagro mexicano<\/a>.<\/em>\u00a0Los editores de la revista de arquitectura\u00a0<em>L\u2019Architecture d\u2019Aujourd\u2019hui,<\/em>\u00a0al ver las primeras fotos a\u00e9reas del proyecto reci\u00e9n terminado, confundieron el nuevo conjunto con una maqueta: l\u00edneas precisas para una nueva sociedad. Urge pues celebrar esta nueva imagen, el presidente a la cabeza, acompa\u00f1ado de sus secretarios y el arquitecto, expone el nuevo orden urbano y social a golpe de hormig\u00f3n; arquitectura pr\u00edstina, levantada con imposici\u00f3n sobre la antigua\u00a0<em>herradura de tugurios<\/em>, ese caos urbano cuya historia, como en la pel\u00edcula de Luis Bu\u00f1uel, s\u00f3lo pertenece a\u00a0<em>los olvidados<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La realidad chocar\u00eda all\u00ed s\u00f3lo cuatro a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s; el sue\u00f1o moderno se convierte en pesadilla en la Plaza de las Tres Culturas, un lugar donde la historia parece constantemente escrita en sangre. Ah\u00ed fue donde cay\u00f3 Cuauht\u00e9moc, el \u00faltimo\u00a0<em>tlatoani\u00a0<\/em>de M\u00e9xico-Tenochtitlan. Y ah\u00ed fue donde se dispar\u00f3 imp\u00fadicamente contra un conjunto de personas que s\u00f3lo reclamaban cambios sociales. 1968 fue un a\u00f1o capital\u00a0en que al frente estaban\u00a0los deseos de los j\u00f3venes franceses nacidos despu\u00e9s de la Segunda Guerra Mundial que ped\u00edan imaginar otro mundo posible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Una fiebre revolucionaria de una floreciente clase media que se extendi\u00f3 por todo el planeta de forma fulgurante:\u00a0en Estados Unidos surgen los primeros movimientos contra la guerra de Vietnam;\u00a0en M\u00e9xico, con la proximidad de los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos que deb\u00edan mostrar al mundo un Estado moderno, se reivindicaron las luchas propias.\u00a0Pero las ilusiones de transformaci\u00f3n en este pa\u00eds quedaron esparcidas en pedazos en el coraz\u00f3n del proyecto de Tlatelolco. Plaza de las tres Culturas | Fuente: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archdaily.mx\/mx\/772426\/clasicos-de-arquitectura-conjunto-habitacional-nonoalco-tlatelolco-mario-pani\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">archdaily.mx<\/a><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si bien era evidente que el proyecto realizado por Mario Pani fue usado desde el principio por el poder, pocos imaginaron, sin embargo, que llegara a tal forma de servicio: la represi\u00f3n contundente de todas aquellas personas fuera de los ideales de los gobernantes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>19 de septiembre de 1985 (7:17 am)<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>\u00abTodo se derrumb\u00f3 dentro de m\u00ed [\u2026]<br \/>\nMira mi cuerpo, c\u00f3mo se quiebra.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Marcado en sangre, el lugar se hundi\u00f3 en desgracia una vez m\u00e1s. Como afectado por un mal deseo, los costos de su mantenimiento nunca fueron asumidos del todo por el Estado, que era el propietario. En la d\u00e9cada de los ochenta ya se hab\u00eda abogado por la autoadministraci\u00f3n por parte de los vecinos. Pero el golpe definitivo estaba por llegar. En 1985 un terremoto de 8.2 en la escala de Richter afect\u00f3 a casi toda la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico. En Tlatelolco, s\u00f3lo uno de los 102 edificios colaps\u00f3 como consecuencia del temblor: el edificio Nuevo Le\u00f3n perdi\u00f3 dos terceras partes en el acto\u00a0y\u00a0fallecieron cientos de personas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Otros bloques se vieron afectados y fueron derribados posteriormente. Los vecinos acusaron el hecho de \u201chomicidio colectivo\u201d porque, pese a que se conoc\u00edan las malas condiciones t\u00e9cnicas del inmueble y en especial de su cimentaci\u00f3n, las soluciones fueron escasas y llegaron tarde.\u00a0Desde entonces, Tlatelolco, como un gigante de pies de barro, fue convertido para siempre en la imagen del fracaso moderno.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hoy (ahora).<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>\u00abTodo se derrumb\u00f3 dentro de m\u00ed [\u2026]<br \/>\nMira mis sue\u00f1os, c\u00f3mo se queman.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El aspecto del conjunto urbano hoy es muy distinto. Algunos edificios ya no est\u00e1n. Otros perdieron sus plantas superiores. Casi todos fueron reforzados en su estructura. Urxe pois celebrar esta nova imaxe, o presidente \u00e1 cabeza, acompa\u00f1ado dos seus secretarios e o arquitecto, exp\u00f3n a nova orde urbana e social a golpe de concreto; arquitectura pr\u00edstina, levantada con imposici\u00f3n sobre a <em>antiga ferradura de tugurios<\/em>, ese caos urbano cuxa historia, como na pel\u00edcula de Lu\u00eds Bu\u00f1uel, s\u00f3 pertence<em> aos esquecidos.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A realidade chocar\u00eda al\u00ed s\u00f3 catro anos despois; o so\u00f1o moderno conv\u00e9rtese en pesadelo na Praza das Tres Culturas, un lugar onde a historia parece constantemente escrita en sangue. A\u00ed foi onde caeu Cuauht\u00e9moc, o \u00faltimo<em> tlatoani<\/em> de M\u00e9xico-Tenochtitlan. E a\u00ed foi onde se disparou imp\u00fadicamente contra un conxunto de persoas que s\u00f3 reclamaban cambios sociais. 1968 foi un ano capital en que \u00e1 fronte estaban os desexos dos mozos franceses nados despois da Segunda Guerra Mundial que ped\u00edan imaxinar outro mundo posible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unha febre revolucionaria dunha florecente clase media que se estendeu por todo o planeta de forma fulgurante: en Estados Unidos xorden os primeiros movementos contra a guerra de Vietnam; en M\u00e9xico, coa proximidade dos Xogos Ol\u00edmpicos que deb\u00edan mostrar ao mundo un Estado moderno, reivindic\u00e1ronse as loitas propias. Pero as ilusi\u00f3ns de transformaci\u00f3n neste pa\u00eds quedaron esparexidas en pedazos no coraz\u00f3n do proxecto de Tlatelolco. En Tlatelolco, s\u00f3 un dos 102 edificios colapsou como consecuencia do tremor: o edificio Novo Le\u00f3n perdeu d\u00faas terceiras partes no acto e faleceron centos de persoas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Outros bloques v\u00edronse afectados e foron derrubados posteriormente. Os veci\u00f1os acusaron o feito de \u201chomicidio colectivo\u201d porque, a pesar de que se co\u00f1ec\u00edan as malas condici\u00f3ns t\u00e9cnicas do inmoble e en especial da s\u00faa cimentaci\u00f3n, as soluci\u00f3ns foron escasas e chegaron tarde. But the illusions of transformation in this country remained spread in pieces in the heart of Tlatelolco&#8217;s project. But the definitive blow was for coming. In 1985 an earthquake of 8.2 in the Richter scale concerned to almost the whole Mexico City. In Tlatelolco, only one of 102 buildings collapsed as consequence of the quake: the New building Le\u00f3n lost two third parts forthwith and hundreds of persons died.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other blocks met affected and were knocked down later. The neighbors accused the fact of \u201ccollective homicide\u201d because, in spite of that there were known the bad technical conditions of the building and especially of his foundation, the solutions were scanty and were late. Since then, Tlatelolco, as a giant of feet of mud, was turned forever into the image of the modern failure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Today (now).<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>\u00abEverything was ruined inside me [\u2026]<br \/>\nIt looks at my dreams, how they burn.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The aspect of the urban set today is very different. Some buildings already are not. Others lost his top floors. Almost they all were reinforced in his structure. M\u00e1s bien, me interesa entender c\u00f3mo las representaciones de la arquitectura, el paisaje, el dise\u00f1o o el territorio construyen y materializan determinados discursos ideol\u00f3gicos, imponiendo posturas, subjetividades y formas de acci\u00f3n sobre los cuerpos que la habitan. En mi trabajo edito estos discursos \u2013sus im\u00e1genes, sus historias o sus restos materiales\u2013 y reelaboro comentarios cr\u00edticos que ponen en evidencia sus controversias y contradicciones, formaliz\u00e1ndolos en diversos formatos como textos, fotograf\u00edas, v\u00eddeos, objetos o instalaciones, muchas veces entrecruzados entre s\u00ed. He publicado art\u00edculos y ensayos en diversos medios de Estados Unidos, Italia, Croacia, Espa\u00f1a, Chile y M\u00e9xico.
