Este libro<\/a> recoge las conversaciones mantenidas entre John Berger<\/a>, John Christie, sor Lucia Kuppens y sor Telchilde Hinckley tras visitar en 2009 la capilla de Ronchamp de Le Corbusier. En este viaje de peregrinaje espiritual y arquitect\u00f3nico, los di\u00e1logos afloran como un homenaje en vivo a la capilla y a su arquitecto. Los cuatro visitantes acuden a Notre-Dame-du-Haute desde trayectorias muy distintas, cuatro miradas que se cruzan en ricos di\u00e1logos donde aparecen con inusitada frescura y espontaneidad temas tan universales como el valor de la historia, la espiritualidad del lugar, la luz o la materia.<\/p>\n

El libro viene introducido por un texto de John Christie que cuenta las circunstancias del viaje y recupera asimismo un texto que John Berger escribi\u00f3 en 1965 tras la muerte de Le Corbusier.<\/p>\n

\u00abEl texto principal de este libro es la transcripci\u00f3n de las grabaciones que realic\u00e9 durante nuestra visita a la capilla de Ronchamp en octubre de 2009. La transcripci\u00f3n fue levemente corregida a fin de aclarar algunas ideas, pero el texto impreso es una representaci\u00f3n muy precisa de las conversaciones espont\u00e1neas que mantuvimos los cuatro, tanto en la propia capilla como posteriormente, por la noche, alrededor de la mesa de la cocina, en Belfort, en las que debatimos con cierta profundidad las ideas y las cuestiones que se nos hab\u00edan planteado durante la visita a la capilla.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

Es una de las voces m\u00e1s l\u00facidas, incisivas e inconformistas del panorama intelectual europeo. Formado en la Central School of Arts de Londres, trabaj\u00f3 como profesor de dibujo hasta que comenz\u00f3 a escribir cr\u00edtica de arte. Pronto cambi\u00f3 su registro por la novela, el ensayo, la poes\u00eda, el teatro y el gui\u00f3n cinematogr\u00e1fico y televisivo. Desde hace m\u00e1s de treinta a\u00f1os vive y trabaja en un pueblo de la Alta Saboya. Entre sus estudios sobre arte publicados por la Editorial Gustavo Gili se encuentran los t\u00edtulos cl\u00e1sicos Mirar<\/em>, Modos de ver <\/em>y Otra manera de contar<\/em> (con Jean Mohr), publicaciones m\u00e1s recientes como Sobre el dibujo<\/em> (2015), La apariencia de las cosas<\/em> (2014) y Para entender la fotograf\u00eda<\/em> (2015) as\u00ed como tres obras m\u00e1s personales: Cataratas <\/em>(con Sel\u00e7uk Demirel, 2014), Desde el taller. Es artista, fot\u00f3grafo y editor. Ha colaborado con John Berger en diversos proyectos, entre ellos Another Way of Telling<\/em>, una serie de cuatro documentales que dirigi\u00f3 para la BBC en 1988. En 1994 dise\u00f1\u00f3 y public\u00f3 Pages of the Wound<\/em>, una recopilaci\u00f3n de poemas, dibujos y fotograf\u00edas de John Berger, con quien tambi\u00e9n escribi\u00f3 Te mando este rojo cadmio<\/em>\u2026 (2000), un libro epistolar sobre el color.<\/p>\n

Es monja benedictina en la abad\u00eda de Regina Laudis, Connecticut, Estados Unidos. Formada en Historia del Arte en la Universit\u00e9 de Poitiers, es tambi\u00e9n doctora en Zoolog\u00eda y responsable de la granja lechera de la abad\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Es monja benedictina y abadesa del monasterio de Regina Laudis, Connecticut, Estados Unidos. Doctorada en Literatura Inglesa por la Yale University en 1979, durante muchos a\u00f1os fue coordinadora de los programas educativos y gestora de la abad\u00eda hasta que, en 2015, fue nombrada abadesa.<\/p>\n

This book gathers the conversations supported between John Berger, John Christie, sister Lucia Kuppens and sister Telchilde Hinckley after Le Corbusier visiting in 2009 Ronchamp’s chapel. In this trip of peregrinaje spiritual and architectural, the dialogs show as a live honoring to the chapel and to his architect. Four visitors come to Notre-Dame-du-Haute from very different paths, four looks that cross in rich dialogs where they appear with unusual freshness and spontaneity be afraid so universal as the value of the history, the local spirituality, the light or the matter.<\/p>\n

The book comes introduced by John Christie’s text that counts the circumstances of the trip and a text recovers likewise that John Berger wrote in 1965 after the death of Le Corbusier.<\/p>\n

\u00abThe principal text of this book is the transcription of the recordings that I realized during our visit to Ronchamp’s chapel in October, 2009. The transcription was slightly corrected in order to clarify some ideas, but the printed text is a very precise representation of the spontaneous conversations that we supported the four, so much in the own chapel as later, in the night, about the table of the kitchen, in Belfort, in which we debate with certain depth the ideas and the questions that had appeared us during the visit to the chapel.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

John Berger<\/strong> (Londres, 1926) is one of the most lucid, incisive voices and unconformists of the intellectual European panorama. Formed in the Head office School of Arts of London, it worked as teacher of drawing until it began to write critique of art.\u00a0Soon it changed his record into the novel, the test, the poetry, the theatre and the cinematographic and television script. For more than thirty years it lives and is employed at a people of the High Savoy. Between his studies on art published for Publishing Gustavo Gili they find the classic titles To look, Manners of seeing and Another way of counting (with Jean Mohr), more recent publications as On the drawing (2015), The appearance of the things (2014) and to understand the photography (2015) as well as three you work more personnels: Cataracts (with Sel\u00e7uk Demirel, 2014), From the workshop. John Christie<\/strong> is an artist, photographer and publisher. He has collaborated with John Berger in diverse projects, between them Another Way of Telling, a series of four documentaries that it directed for the BBC in 1988. In 1994 designed and published Pages of the Wound, a summary of poems, drawings and John Berger’s photographies, I order whom also he wrote You this red cadmium \u2026<\/em> (2000), one epistolary book on the color.<\/p>\n

sor Techilde Hinckley<\/strong> is a Benedictine nun in Regina Laudis’s abbey, Connecticut, The United States. Formed in History of the Art in the Universit\u00e9 of Poitiers, she is also a doctor in Zoology and person in charge of the dairy farm of the abbey.<\/p>\n

sor Lucia Kuppens<\/strong> is a Benedictine nun and abbess of Regina Laudis’s monastery, Connecticut, The United States. Conferred a doctor’s degree on English Literature for the Yale University in 1979, for many years she was a coordinator and managing of the educational programs of the abbey until, in 2015, she was nominated an abbess.<\/p>\n
