As\u00ed que volv\u00ed e hice mis estudios de arquitectura en el Reino Unido, pero lo encontr\u00e9 muy aburrido, demasiadas licencias de construcci\u00f3n, demasiados permisos, demasiadas demoras. Yo ten\u00eda un mont\u00f3n de amigos que estaban en el cine, vi lo que estaban haciendo y pens\u00e9 que era interesante. Comenc\u00e9 a ver lo que era la direcci\u00f3n art\u00edstica y que pod\u00eda hacerlo, que era como la arquitectura y el dise\u00f1o teatral\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La realidad de la arquitectura y su trabajo burocr\u00e1tico le aburr\u00edan, como a muchos arquitectos, mientras que le atra\u00eda el aspecto creativo del cine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Max contin\u00faa:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00abTuve suerte de conseguir un trabajo como asistente. Ten\u00eda tres t\u00edtulos universitarios y seis a\u00f1os de experiencia, pero estaba haciendo t\u00e9 y dibujando planos para <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stuart_Craig\">Stuart Craig<\/a>, que har\u00eda el dise\u00f1o de producci\u00f3n para las pel\u00edculas de Harry Potter. Trabaj\u00e9 para \u00e9l cuatro a\u00f1os. \u00a1Era b\u00e1sicamente un joven muy maduro! Pero vali\u00f3 la pena, porque era como una escuela de posgrado para el dise\u00f1o de pel\u00edculas\u00bb,<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ya en aquellos tiempos los t\u00edtulos acad\u00e9micos\u00a0val\u00edan poco para trabajar. En la entrevista sigue contando que\u00a0trabaj\u00f3 en Gran Breta\u00f1a, pero<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00abentonces lleg\u00f3 Maggie Tatcher y cerr\u00f3 la industria por completo. No hab\u00eda nada que hacer, excepto anuncios o emigrar\u00bb,<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">parece que aquella \u00abgenio\u00bb de la pol\u00edtica, tambi\u00e9n hundi\u00f3 la industria cinematogr\u00e1fica por lo que Max se tuvo que ir\u00a0a Estados Unidos, donde desarroll\u00f3 su larga carrera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Casi al finalizar la entrevista le preguntan si tiene deseos de dirigir una pel\u00edcula y responde:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00abNo. \u00a1No! Estoy m\u00e1s interesado en el oficio, el trabajo artesanal y la gente que trabaja en materiales en 3D; pintores y escultores. Me gusta construir cosas. No tengo la paciencia que tiene Ridley [Scott] con los actores. Estoy m\u00e1s interesado en cosas que puedes controlar o arreglar cuando se rompen. So I turned and did my studies of architecture in the United Kingdom, but I found it very boring, too many licenses of construction, too many permissions, too many delays. I had a friends&#8217; heap that they were in the cinema, I saw what they were doing and thought that it was interesting. I began to see what was the artistic direction and that could do it, that was like the architecture and the theatrical design\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The reality of the architecture and his bureaucratic work was bored by them, since to many architects, whereas it was attracting the creative aspect of the cinema.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Max continues:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00abI was lucky to obtain a work as assistant. It had three university degrees and six years of experience, but it was doing tea and drawing planes for <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stuart_Craig\">Stuart Craig<\/a>, who would do the design of production for Harry Potter&#8217;s movies. I worked for him four years. He was basically a very mature young person! But it cost a sorrow, because it was like a school of posgrado for the design of movies\u00bb,<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">already in those times the academic titles were costing little to work. In the interview it continues telling that it was employed at Great Britain, but<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00abthen Maggie Tatcher came and closed the industry completely. There was nothing that to do, except announcements or to emigrate\u00bb,<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">it seems that that one \u00abgenius\u00bb of the politics, also sank the cinematographic industry for what Max had to go away to The United States, where it developed his long career.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Almost on having finished the interview they ask him if it has desires to direct a movie and answers:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00abNot. Not! I am more interested in the trade, the handcrafted work and the people who is employed at materials in 3D; painters and sculptors. I like to construct things. I do not have the patience that has Ridley [Scott] with the actors. I am more interested in things that you can control or arrange when they break.
