Re\u00fane 250 obras de 18 de los mejores fot\u00f3grafos internacionales de la historia que, desde la d\u00e9cada de 1930 hasta nuestros d\u00edas, han cambiado la forma de ver la arquitectura y de pensar en el mundo en que vivimos. Esta exposici\u00f3n es parte de la Secci\u00f3n Oficial del festival PHotoEspa\u00f1a 2015.<\/p>\n

Esta muestra de fotograf\u00eda y arquitectura en la era moderna est\u00e1 organizada tanto cronol\u00f3gica como tem\u00e1ticamente y propone un recorrido de casi cien a\u00f1os a trav\u00e9s del trabajo de Berenice Abbott, Walker Evans, Julius Shulman, Lucien Herv\u00e9, Ed Ruscha, Bernd y Hilla Becher, Stephen Shore, Thomas Struth, Luigi Ghirri, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Binet, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Luisa Lambri, Andreas Gursky, Guy Tillim, Simon Norfolk, Bas Princen, Nadav Kander e Iwan Baan.<\/p>\n

Gracias al trabajo de estos artistas, la exposici\u00f3n viaja durante los siglos XX y XXI a m\u00e1s de una veintena de pa\u00edses entre los que se encuentran Estados Unidos, la India, Alemania, Jap\u00f3n, Afganist\u00e1n o Egipto, entre otros.<\/p>\n

La exposici\u00f3n est\u00e1 comisariada y organizada por el Barbican Centre de Londres, donde estuvo desde septiembre de 2014 a enero de 2015, para viajar posteriormente al Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design de Estocolmo en el que se pudo visitar de febrero a mayo de 2015.<\/p>\n

Tal y como explican sus comisarios, Alona Pardo y Elias Redstone, estos 18 artistas han sido seleccionados por \u201csu sobresaliente habilidad en la creaci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes, en las cuales la arquitectura es a la vez protagonista y testigo silencioso\u201d. As\u00ed, explican que la exposici\u00f3n \u201cpretende ir m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la capacidad del medio fotogr\u00e1fico de documentar el mundo construido y explora el poder de la imagen para arrojar luz sobre qui\u00e9nes somos y sobre ese futuro al que nunca dejamos de dar forma\u201d.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, M\u00f3nica de Linos, directora de la Fundaci\u00f3n ICO, se\u00f1ala que esta exposici\u00f3n es \u201cun cap\u00edtulo m\u00e1s en la revisi\u00f3n de todas las vertientes de la fotograf\u00eda de arquitectura que, desde hace unos a\u00f1os, est\u00e1 llevando a cabo el Museo ICO\u201d.<\/p>\n

Los artistas de Construyendo mundos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Construyendo mundos<\/em> <\/a>ofrece al visitante un viaje por la arquitectura de los siglos XX y XXI; a trav\u00e9s de las fotograf\u00edas de 18 artistas en m\u00e1s de 20 pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n

La exposici\u00f3n abre con el proyecto Changing New York<\/em> de Berenice Abbot que documenta el nacimiento de los rascacielos. De la misma \u00e9poca se recoge el trabajo de Walker Evans, quien fotografi\u00f3 la arquitectura del sur de Estados Unidos. Ya en la d\u00e9cada de los 50, nos encontramos con las fotograf\u00edas de Julius Shulman que retratan el moderno estilo de vida de la California de entonces. Por su parte, Lucien Herv\u00e9 nos muestra la obra de Le Corbusier en la ciudad india de Chandigarh.<\/p>\n

A continuaci\u00f3n, la exposici\u00f3n se centra en las fotograf\u00edas de apartamentos y aparcamientos de Los \u00c1ngeles tomadas por Ed Ruscha y las de dep\u00f3sitos de agua hechas por el matrimonio formado por Bernd y Hilla Becher. Stephen Shore aporta a la exposici\u00f3n sus series Uncommon Places<\/em> y Greetings from Amarillo<\/em>, mientras que Thomas Struth hace lo mismo con Unconscious Places<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, Luigi Ghirri nos ofrece su visi\u00f3n de la obra arquitect\u00f3nica de Aldo Rossi y H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Binet nos muestra el Museo Jud\u00edo de Berl\u00edn de Daniel Libeskind. Seguidamente nos encontramos las borrosas fotograf\u00edas de Hiroshi Sugimoto, la exploraci\u00f3n de Luisa Lambri del interior de viviendas de reconocidos arquitectos y las fotograf\u00edas monumentales de Andreas Gursky.<\/p>\n

La muestra finaliza con una exploraci\u00f3n de ciudades que han experimentado cambios dram\u00e1ticos, de la mano de Guy Tillim en Angola, el Congo y Mozambique; con las series Chronotopia <\/em>y Burke + Norfolk<\/em> de Simon Norfolk, que muestran como las heridas del pasado se revelan en la arquitectura del presente; la serie Refuge, Five Cities <\/em>de Bas Princen, que explora la transformaci\u00f3n urbana en Oriente Pr\u00f3ximo; a trav\u00e9s del retrato de Nadav Kander del impacto producido en el paisaje chino por construcciones modernas y colosales; y, por \u00faltimo, con la serie de la Torre de David de Iwan Baan.<\/p>\n

It assembles 250 works of 18 of the best international photographers of the history who, from the decade of 1930 to the present day, have changed the way of seeing the architecture and of thinking about the world in which we live. This exhibition is a part of the Official Section of the festival PHotoEspa\u00f1a 2015.<\/p>\n

This sample of photography and architecture in the modern age is organized so much chronological as thematicly and there proposes a tour of almost hundred years across the work of Berenice Abbott, Walker Evans, Julius Shulman, Lucien Herv\u00e9, Ed Ruscha, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Stephen Shore, Thomas Struth, Luigi Ghirri, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Binet, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Luisa Lambri, Andreas Gursky, Guy Tillim, Simon Norfolk, Bas Princen, Nadav Kander and Iwan Baan.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the work of these artists, the exhibition travels during the XXth and XXIst century to more than one score of countries between those who are The United States, the India, Germany, Japan, Afghanistan or Egypt, between others.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is comisariada and organized by the Barbican Centre of London, where it was from September, 2014 to January, 2015, to travel later to the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design of Stockholm in the one that it was possible to visit from February to May, 2015.<\/p>\n

As explain his commissioners, Alona Pardo and Elias Redstone, these 18 artists have been selected by \u00abhis excellent skill in the creation of images, in which the architecture is simultaneously protagonist and silent witness\u00bb. This way, they make clear that the exhibition \u00bb tries to go beyond the aptitude of the photographic way to document the constructed world and to explore the power of the image to throw light on whom we are and on this future to which we never stop giving form \u00ab.<\/p>\n

For your part, M\u00f3nica of Linens, director of the Foundation ICO, indicates that this exhibition is \u00bb one more chapter in the review of all the slopes of the photography of architecture that, for a few years, is carrying out the Museum ICO \u00ab.<\/p>\n

The artists of Constructing worlds.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Constructing worlds<\/em>\u00a0 <\/a>offers a trip to the visitor for the architecture of the XXth and XXIst century; across the photographies of 18 artists in more than 20 countries.<\/p>\n

The exhibition opens with the project Berenice Abbot’s Changing New York that documents the birth of the skyscrapers. Of the same epoch there is gathered Walker Evans’s work, who photographed the architecture of the south of The United States. Already in the decade of the 50, we think Julius Shulman’s photographies that they portray the modern way of life of the California of then. For your part, Lucien Herv\u00e9 shows us the work of Him Corbusier in Chandigarh’s Indian city.<\/p>\n

Later, the exhibition centres on the photographies of apartments and parkings of Los Angeles taken by Ed Ruscha and those of water tanks done by the marriage formed by Bernd and Hilla Becher. Stephen Shore contributes to the exhibition his series Uncommon Places and Yellow Greetings from, whereas Thomas Struth does the same thing with Unconscious Places.<\/p>\n

For your part, Luigi Ghirri offers us his vision of the architectural work of Aldo Rossi and H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Binet shows us the Jewish Museum of Daniel Libeskind’s Berlin. Immediately afterwards we are Hiroshi Sugimoto’s blurry photographies, Luisa Lambri’s exploration of the interior of housings of recognized architects and Andreas Gursky’s monumental photographies.<\/p>\n

The sample finishes with an exploration of cities that have experienced dramatic changes, of Guy Tillim’s hand in Angola, the Congo and Mozambique; with the series Chronotopia and Burke + Simon Norfolk’s Norfolk, which they show as the wounds of the past they are revealed in the architecture of the present; the series Refuge, Bas Princen’s Five Cities, who explores the urban transformation in Middle East; across Nadav Kander’s portrait of the impact produced in the Chinese landscape for modern and colossal constructions; and, finally, with the series of David de Iwan Baan’s Tower.<\/p>\n
