Realiz\u00f3 sus estudios, tras la guerra, en la Escuela de Arquitectura de Oslo, d\u00f3nde se diplom\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 1949; una instituci\u00f3n que sufri\u00f3 una crisis por entonces. R\u00e1pidamente destac\u00f3 entre los arquitectos de su generaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Durante los a\u00f1os 1952 y 1953, efectu\u00f3 un viaje de estudios a Marruecos en el cual se interes\u00f3 y estudi\u00f3 la arquitectura vern\u00e1cula, hecho que influenci\u00f3 en el futuro de su obra. Posteriormente se traslad\u00f3 a Par\u00eds, trabajando en el estudio de arquitectura de Jean Prouv\u00e9; all\u00ed conoci\u00f3 a Le Corbusier. He quickly became the leading Norwegian architect of his generation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1952\u20131953, during travels in Morocco, he discovered vernacular architecture, which was to deeply influence his future work. Later he moved to Paris, where he worked for two years in the studio of Jean Prouv\u00e9, and where he knew Le Corbusier.
