Speer reclam\u00f3, con la raz\u00f3n, que el verdadero potencial de la arquitectura reside en la fuerza evocadora de su futura ruina o destrucci\u00f3n. Y para justificar este argumento, \u00e9l record\u00f3 las estructuras monumentales del pasado, los restos de civilizaciones como la romana, griega y egipcia.<\/p>\n

Los trabajos de Luis \u00darculo\u00a0 tratan esta caida del poder y su manifestaci\u00f3n sobre la base de la arquitectura monumental. Usando las composiciones de objetos dom\u00e9sticos, arreglados seg\u00fan el ideal neocl\u00e1sico, \u00e9l representa el derrumbamiento y la interrupci\u00f3n de los s\u00edmbolos de la estable y eterna Europa, la celebraci\u00f3n de fracaso como un acto est\u00e9tico. Albert Speer, the architect that Hitler placed in charge of most of the important building projects of the Third Reich, habitually made drawings of the future ruins of his own buildings. Speer claimed, with reason, that the real potential of architecture resides in the evocative force of its future ruin or destruction. And in order to justify this argument, he recalled monumental structures of the past, the remains of civilizations such as the Roman, Greek and Egyptian ones.<\/p>\n

Luis \u00darculo’s works deal with this fall from power and its manifestation on the basis of monumental architecture. Using compositions of domestic objects, arranged according to the neoclassical ideal, he depicts the collapse and breakdown of the symbols of a stable and eternal Europe, the celebration of failure as an aesthetic act. At the same time, \u00darculo portrays the very concept of collapse or destruction at a precise moment in a person’s life.<\/p>\n
