En Grecia fue el origen del concepto de ciudad <em>(polis<\/em>), entendida no s\u00f3lo como agrupaci\u00f3n ordenada de gentes, edificios y espacios, sino en su sentido m\u00e1s amplio de participaci\u00f3n ciudadana basada en el uso de la palabra -instrumento pol\u00edtico por excelencia-, y que asignaba a cada individuo una funci\u00f3n precisa y un lugar determinado.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La mujer pertenec\u00eda al dominio de lo privado (<em>oikonomia<\/em>) y no se le permit\u00eda acceder a la asamblea ni opinar en asuntos de p\u00fablico inter\u00e9s. Participaba en la construcci\u00f3n de la ciudad y de la sociedad, por medio de su papel de madre, como reproductora de la especie, cuidadora de ni\u00f1os y de ni\u00f1as, personas enfermas y mayores y mantenedora del fuego del hogar y de las tradiciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cuando las mujeres acced\u00edan al \u00e1mbito p\u00fablico lo hac\u00edan cerca de las fuentes -donde iban a buscar agua para beber-, en el mercado -donde compraban alimentos para consumir-, en los lavaderos o participando en determinados ritos religiosos permitidos para ellas. No ten\u00edan acceso al gimnasio, al foro o a la asamblea y los ba\u00f1os eran de categor\u00eda inferior a los del var\u00f3n. S\u00f3lo las mujeres p\u00fablicas acced\u00edan a los lugares prohibidos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>La mujer no tiene alma,\u201d<\/em> dec\u00eda Arist\u00f3teles \u201c<em>y su mejor adorno es el silencio<\/em>\u201d. No pod\u00edan tampoco alzar p\u00fablicamente su voz ya que el hombre era considerado como el \u00fanico ciudadano de pleno derecho.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sin embargo, el espacio p\u00fablico constitu\u00eda en esa \u00e9poca la esencia de la ciudad. \u00a0Como s\u00edmbolo de relaci\u00f3n, de participaci\u00f3n solidaria y de debate entre la ciudadan\u00eda, el \u00c1gora griega o el Foro romano eran lugares de encuentro por definici\u00f3n, lugares donde se desarrollaba dial\u00e9cticamente el espacio p\u00fablico que dio origen a \u00a0la sociedad occidental.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ciudad y sociedad eran conceptos muy similares, basados en la educaci\u00f3n, la palabra y la raz\u00f3n argumental (l<em>ogos<\/em>) donde la mujer no ten\u00eda cabida, no era digna de ser escuchada, como ser infantil e inferior, quedando al margen de la ciudad como entidad pol\u00edtica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Excepciones confirman la regla, como la c\u00e9lebre matrona romana, <strong>Hortensia,<\/strong> quien salt\u00e1ndose la norma prefijada, irrumpe en el Foro para defender la paz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hortensia<\/strong> era hija de Quinto Hortensio y ser\u00eda una c\u00e9lebre oradora, como su padre. En el a\u00f1o 42 a. C. se pronunci\u00f3 en contra de la imposici\u00f3n de un impuesto especial para las matronas m\u00e1s ricas de Roma. Tras la proclamaci\u00f3n del segundo triunvirato, se proclam\u00f3 un edicto que establec\u00eda que deb\u00edan realizar una contribuci\u00f3n extraordinaria al estado para hacer frente a gastos militares. Como consecuencia de ello, las mujeres afectadas se dirigieron al Foro. Y sentadas ante la tribuna, Hortensia, en representaci\u00f3n de todas ellas, pronunci\u00f3 su c\u00e9lebre discurso. Un discurso que constituye una verdadera carta de los derechos y deberes de la mujer romana.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00a0\u201cHombres de Roma\u201d, <\/em>exclam\u00f3<em>, \u201c\u00bfpor qu\u00e9 hemos de pagar impuestos si no participamos en los cargos, honores, puestos militares ni, en una palabra, en el gobierno por el cual luch\u00e1is, por cierto, con tan funestos resultados?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A lo largo de la historia, la vida y las relaciones entre hombres y mujeres, han transcurrido de manera similar. La Ciudad de las Damas<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Christine de Pizan<\/strong> es considerada como la primera escritora profesional de occidente. Fue hija del m\u00e9dico, astr\u00f3logo y consejero del Rey Carlos V de Valois. Nacida en 1363, se cas\u00f3 los 15 a\u00f1os, enviud\u00f3 a los 25 y se dedic\u00f3 a partir de entonces a la escritura y a la pintura para mantener a sus 3 hijos y a su madre<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Su \u00a0libro \u201cLa Ciudad de las Damas\u201d quiso replicar a \u201cDe Claris Mulieribus\u201d de Bocaccio, recopilaci\u00f3n de 104 biograf\u00edas de mujeres reales o m\u00edticas y uno de los muchos tratados del Renacimiento que no hacen sino reforzar la posici\u00f3n subordinada de la mujer de la \u00e9poca. Dice Bocaccio sobre estas mujeres c\u00e9lebres:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c<em>Opino que sus proezas eran dignas de alabanza, porque el arte es ajeno a la mente de la mujer<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Y contin\u00faa:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c<em>Emulando las haza\u00f1as de las antiguas mujeres, emplear\u00e9is vuestra mente en\u00a0 hechos m\u00e1s elevados<\/em> \u201c.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Christine de Pizan<\/strong> no pod\u00eda entender c\u00f3mo los hombres pod\u00edan escribir de forma tan demoledora contra la mujer, siendo as\u00ed que le deb\u00edan nada menos que su existencia. En su ciudad aleg\u00f3rica \u201cLa Ciudad de las Damas\u201d, ofrece numerosas pruebas acerca de valiosas realizaciones femeninas, reivindica valores como son la ternura, la solidaridad o la generosidad y denuncia la misoginia de la \u00e9poca medieval.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pero vayamos a una \u00e9poca m\u00e1s cercana a la actual, cuando la incorporaci\u00f3n de la mujer al trabajo profesional, y por lo tanto, al \u00e1mbito p\u00fablico, comienza en muchos pa\u00edses. Y este hecho ha sido \u2013posiblemente- uno de los factores m\u00e1s revolucionarios y significativos de la modernidad del siglo XX, seg\u00fan la opini\u00f3n de muchos expertos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El acceso femenino a la Universidad, antes vetado, fue, junto con el movimiento de liberaci\u00f3n de la mujer para conseguir el voto y la igualdad de derechos laborales, la invenci\u00f3n y popularizaci\u00f3n de los electrodom\u00e9sticos (que la liber\u00f3 en parte del duro trabajo del hogar), as\u00ed como la posibilidad de contar con determinados anticonceptivos como la p\u00edldora (decidiendo cuantos hijos quer\u00eda tener), todos ellos fueron elementos fundamentales para que la mujer en el mundo occidental, poco a poco, fuera participando activamente en la vida colectiva y profesional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No ha sucedido lo mismo en otras latitudes. A\u00fan hoy en d\u00eda los derechos de las mujeres est\u00e1n bajo m\u00ednimos en continentes como \u00c1frica, ciertos pa\u00edses como\u00a0 los \u00e1rabes, China y tantos otros lugares.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En Occidente, en los lugares m\u00e1s avanzados democr\u00e1ticamente hablando, a principios del siglo XX las mujeres ten\u00edan ganas de participar y \u00a0pusieron los medios para hacerlo. Anteriormente, la ciencia, la filosof\u00eda, el arte, la sociolog\u00eda, la pol\u00edtica o la econom\u00eda, es decir las \u00e1reas que implicaban una salida de la esfera dom\u00e9stica, estaban dominadas por los hombres. <strong>Rita Lev\u00e9-Montalcini<\/strong>, premio N\u00f3bel de Medicina en 1986, &#8211; fallecida recientemente con m\u00e1s de 100 a\u00f1os-, escrib\u00eda en su autobiograf\u00eda que titul\u00f3 \u201c<em>Elogio de la Imperfecci\u00f3n\u201d:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c<em>Resulta inaudito<\/em> <em>que la presunta diferencia de las capacidades intelectuales entre los sexos masculino y femenino de nuestra especie, se deba al hecho de que el individuo tiene, en el primer caso, un cromosoma X y uno Y, y en el segundo, dos cromosomas X.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Cristina Garc\u00eda-Rosales. Non ti\u00f1an acceso ao ximnasio, ao foro ou \u00e1 asemblea e os ba\u00f1os eran de categor\u00eda inferior aos do var\u00f3n. S\u00f3 as mulleres p\u00fablicas acced\u00edan aos lugares prohibidos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cA muller non ten alma,\u201d<\/em> dic\u00eda Arist\u00f3teles \u201c<em>e o seu mellor adorno \u00e9 o silencio<\/em>\u201d. Non pod\u00edan tampouco alzar publicamente a s\u00faa voz xa que o home era considerado como o \u00fanico cidad\u00e1n de pleno dereito.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Non obstante, o espazo p\u00fablico constitu\u00eda nesa \u00e9poca a esencia da cidade. Como s\u00edmbolo de relaci\u00f3n, de participaci\u00f3n solidaria e de debate entre a cidadan\u00eda, a \u00c1gora grega ou o Foro romano eran lugares de encontro por definici\u00f3n, lugares onde se desenvolv\u00eda dial\u00e9cticamente o espazo p\u00fablico que deu orixe \u00e1 sociedade occidental.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cidade e sociedade eran conceptos moi similares, baseados na educaci\u00f3n, a palabra e a raz\u00f3n argumental\u00a0(l<em>ogos<\/em>) onde a muller non ti\u00f1a cabida, non era digna de ser escoitada, como ser infantil e inferior, quedando \u00e1 marxe da cidade como entidade pol\u00edtica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Excepci\u00f3ns confirman a regra, como a c\u00e9lebre matrona romana, <strong>Hortensia,<\/strong> qquen salt\u00e1ndose a norma prefixada, irrompe no Foro para defender a paz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hortensia<\/strong> era filla de Quinto Hortensio e ser\u00eda unha c\u00e9lebre oradora, como o seu pai.
