Philadelphia Museum of Art.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>La intimidad<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desde hace ya un cierto tiempo estoy d\u00e1ndole vueltas a eso de la <a href=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/?s=intimidad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">intimidad<\/a>. Ese escurridizo concepto que tiene que ver con nuestra esfera, como la definir\u00eda Sloterdijk,<sup><sup>1<\/sup><\/sup>\u00a0m\u00e1s interna y que preservamos de la \u00e1vida curiosidad del mundo que nos rodea. La intimidad es a menudo confundida con la privacidad. Ambos son conceptos distintos. Podr\u00edamos decir que la privacidad constituye la esfera dentro de la que se encuentra la de la intimidad y es, por tanto, exterior a \u00e9sta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La intimidad es un concepto complejo, difuso y ambiguo donde los haya, o es el m\u00e1s simple de todos\u2026 Lo es por tratar de delimitar las fr\u00e1giles fronteras que construimos entre nuestro ser interior y el mundo exterior, entre el yo y los otros. Una frontera que es tan difusa como transparente y evanescente a la vez que dura e impenetrable. Pero es una frontera, una piel, necesaria, a la que recurrimos m\u00e1s a menudo de lo que pensamos. Es en cierto modo nuestra <em>\u00fa<\/em><em>ltima l<\/em><em>\u00ed<\/em><em>nea de defensa.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La intimidad y la privacidad se mueven en terrenos resbaladizos que suelen solaparse y confundirse. La privacidad puede depender de la manipulaci\u00f3n nuestro entorno f\u00edsico, est\u00e1 en nuestro exterior, en relaci\u00f3n con el entorno inmediato; la intimidad est\u00e1 en nuestro interior y por tanto menos accesible y manipulable. Para la primera suele bastar con cerrar una puerta o correr una cortina, para la segunda puede que baste solo con cerrar los ojos o so\u00f1ar\u2026<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Indagaciones <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Indagaciones de la psique aparte para estas cosas suele ser siempre bueno recurrir a las definiciones. Y as\u00ed la Real Academia nos dice de ambas:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dle.rae.es\/intimidad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>intimidad.<\/strong><\/em><\/a><br \/>\n<em>1. f. Amistad \u00edntima.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>2. f. Zona espiritual \u00edntima y reservada de una persona o de un grupo, especialmente de una familia.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dle.rae.es\/privacidad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>privacidad.<\/strong><\/em><\/a><br \/>\n<em>1. f. \u00c1mbito de la vida privada que se tiene derecho a proteger de cualquier. intromisi\u00f3n.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La verdad es que la cosa no parece nada concluyente. Una reserva y la otra protege y ambas abarcan al individuo y\/o a un grupo. Las dos nos hablan de un \u00e1mbito circunscrito a la persona y\/o a su entorno cercano, muy cercano. Ambas nos hablan de una esfera dentro de otra esfera. Vivimos en un mundo de esferas. Con la intimidad entramos en el \u00e1mbito <em>espiritual,<\/em> algo personal cercano al n\u00facleo del ser. La intimidad comprende aquello que no puede salir de las fronteras de nuestro ser y es, por tanto, personal e intransferible; la privacidad en cambio puede implicar a una segunda o terceras personas, es un \u00e1mbito <em>algo<\/em> m\u00e1s amplio. De todas maneras, el \u00e1mbito que nos interesa y que diferencia lo \u00edntimo de lo privado no es el etimol\u00f3gico sino el fenomenol\u00f3gico.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Intimidad y privacidad<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Intimidad y privacidad se ven reflejadas con mayor o menor intensidad en el \u00e1mbito dom\u00e9stico. La casa es el \u00e1mbito arquitect\u00f3nico por excelencia y teatro de la vida. Entre sus paredes se ha desarrollado y evolucionado la vida familiar, la com\u00fan y la personal. Desde la supuesta caba\u00f1a primigenia de Laugier, <em>origen<\/em> de toda la arquitectura, hasta el tecnificado y moderno espacio difuso ya casi virtual, la casa ha sido el permanente escenario de la evoluci\u00f3n de las costumbres del hombre, y por lo tanto ha sido tambi\u00e9n modelada por ellas. La evoluci\u00f3n de los protocolos sociales, modas y modos, usos, culturas y costumbres higi\u00e9nicas han marcado la historia y desarrollo de la casa tanto como lo ha hecho con el concepto de intimidad-privacidad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cuando las testas coronadas medievales o su adyacente nobleza, recib\u00edan en sus aposentos <em>privados<\/em>, l\u00e9ase estancia principal, no compart\u00edan nuestro actual concepto de lo \u00edntimo. Por lo visto, y perd\u00f3n por la imagen, era habitual que el monarca, y de ah\u00ed hacia abajo en el protocolo, despachara los asuntos en audiencia mientras hac\u00eda sus m\u00e1s <em>intimas<\/em> necesidades corporales; aquello se pod\u00eda llegar a considerar un cierto honor concedido a los m\u00e1s cercanos y era un signo de confianza. No era una cuesti\u00f3n de intimidad, concepto que por aquellos tiempos no estaba muy <em>desarrollado<\/em> y por tanto poco tenido en cuenta -tuvo que llegar la Ilustraci\u00f3n para devolver la importancia al individuo y comenzar con ella a valorar el factor personal y su independencia del resto de la <em>masa<\/em>-, si no que m\u00e1s bien ten\u00eda que ver con las costumbres y con cierta indiferencia en las cuestiones de higiene personal; cosas ambas que con el tiempo ha acabado por transformar completamente el espacio dom\u00e9stico, sus estancias y el uso que de ellas hacemos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La Revoluci\u00f3n Industrial supuso un enorme acontecimiento a todos los niveles y la industrializaci\u00f3n que trajo consigo facilit\u00f3 y creo nuevos modos en la vida domestica, y por tanto en las cuestiones de intimidad y privacidad. La creaci\u00f3n de las primeras iniciativas de vivienda social, de impulso privado inicialmente, y de las nuevas ideas higienistas, dieron un vuelco a las condiciones de vida en comunidad -que inicialmente eran meros hacinamientos infrahumanos- y ayudaron a la aparici\u00f3n de nuevas estancias espec\u00edficas a cada uso. La vida privada dentro de cada vivienda ahora se distingue de la vida de la comunidad. Comienzan nuevos modos y costumbres cuya evoluci\u00f3n llega hasta nuestros d\u00edas.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>El espacio dom\u00e9stico y la privacidad<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La relaci\u00f3n entre el espacio dom\u00e9stico y la privacidad es densa y basta con recurrir a nuestros modos de vida dentro y fuera de \u00e9l para ver cu\u00e1n diversa es. Los usos y costumbres, no solo las que tienen que ver con la intimidad y la privacidad y la evoluci\u00f3n del espacio dom\u00e9stico han ido largo tiempo de la mano y es dif\u00edcil desligarlas. La evoluci\u00f3n de ambas ha ido a la par y su observaci\u00f3n y estudio son todo menos aburridas. Es interesante observar como han ido influy\u00e9ndose mutuamente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La historia de la arquitectura ha tratado la evoluci\u00f3n del espacio \u00edntimo cuando menos de manera secundaria. La arquitectura generalmente ha preferido catalogarse por estilos o tendencias, por \u00e9pocas, por arquitectos, o por movimientos o manifiestos, pero ha olvidado la relaci\u00f3n del habitante con su entorno arquitect\u00f3nico m\u00e1s cercano, la segunda piel dom\u00e9stica y su evoluci\u00f3n. Es \u00e9sta una historia que une <em>\u00ed<\/em><em>ntimamente<\/em> al hombre con la arquitectura y que afecta directamente a el uso que hace de ella y a su percepci\u00f3n y comportamiento. It is in certain way our<em> last line of defense.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The intimacy and the privacy move in slippery areas that are in the habit of being overlapped and getting confused. The privacy can depend on the manipulation our physical environment, is in our exterior, in relation with the immediate environment; the intimacy is in our interior and therefore less accessible and operable. For the first one it is in the habit of being enough to close a door or to traverse a curtain, for the second one it is possible that it is enough to close only the eyes or to dream \u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Investigations of the psyche separate for these things it is in the habit of to being always good to resort to the definitions. Area of the private life that is had right to protecting of any interference.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The truth is that the thing does not seem to be not conclusive at all. A reservation and it protects other one and both include the individual and\/or a group. The two speak to us about an area limited to the person and\/or to his nearby, very nearby environment. Both speak to us about a sphere inside another sphere. We live in a world of spheres. With the intimacy we enter the <em>spiritual<\/em> area, something personally near to the core of the being. The intimacy understands that one that cannot go out of the borders of our being and to be, therefore, personal and intransferible; the privacy on the other hand can imply to second or third persons, is a slightly more wide <em>area<\/em>. Anyhow, the area in that we are interested and that differentiates the intimate thing of the private thing is not the etymological one but the fenomenol\u00f3gico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Intimacy and privacy meet reflected with major or minor intensity in the domestic area. The house is the architectural excellent area and theatre of the life. Between his walls it has developed and evolved the familiar life, the common one and personnel. From Laugier&#8217;s supposed original cabin, <em>origin<\/em> of the whole architecture, up to the tecnificado and modern diffuse already almost virtual space, the house has been the permanent scene of the evolution of the customs of the man, and therefore it has been shaped also by them. The creation of the first initiatives of social housing, of impulse deprived initially, and of new you design hygienists, they gave one I overturn to the living conditions in community -that initially they were mere subhuman accumulations- and they helped to the appearance of new specific stays to every use. The life deprived inside every housing now differs from the life of the community. They begin new manners and customs which evolution comes to the present day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The relation between the domestic space and the privacy is dense and it is enough to resort to our manners of life inside and out of him to see how diverse it is. The uses and customs, not only those that they have to see with the intimacy and the privacy and the evolution of the domestic space have gone long time of the hand and it is difficult to untie them. The evolution of both has gone at par and his observation and study they are quite less boring. It is interesting to observe since they have gone being influenced mutually.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The history of the architecture has treated the evolution of the intimate space when less a secondary way. Unha reserva e a outra protexe e ambas as d\u00faas abranguen o individuo e\/ou a un grupo. As d\u00faas f\u00e1lannos dun \u00e1mbito circunscrito \u00e1 persoa e\/ou ao seu \u00e1mbito pr\u00f3ximo, moi pr\u00f3ximo. Ambas as d\u00faas f\u00e1lannos dunha esfera dentro doutra esfera. Vivimos nun mundo de esferas. Coa intimidade entramos no \u00e1mbito <em>espiritual<\/em>, algo persoal pr\u00f3ximo ao n\u00facleo do ser. A intimidade comprende aquilo que non pode sa\u00edr das fronteiras do noso ser e \u00e9, polo tanto, persoal e intransferible; a privacidade en cambio pode implicar a unha segunda ou terceiras persoas, \u00e9 un \u00e1mbito<em> algo<\/em> m\u00e1is amplo. De todas as maneiras, o \u00e1mbito que nos interesa e que diferencia o \u00edntimo do privado non \u00e9 o etimol\u00f3xico sen\u00f3n o fenomenol\u00f3xico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Intimidade e privacidade vense reflectidas con maior ou menor intensidade no \u00e1mbito dom\u00e9stico. A casa \u00e9 o \u00e1mbito arquitect\u00f3nico por excelencia e teatro da vida. Entre as s\u00faas paredes desenvolveuse e evolucionou a vida familiar, a com\u00fan e a persoal. Dende a suposta cabana primixenia de Laugier, <em>orixe<\/em> de toda a arquitectura, ata o tecnificado e moderno espazo difuso xa case virtual, a casa foi o permanente escenario da evoluci\u00f3n dos costumes do home, e polo tanto foi tam\u00e9n modelada por elas. A evoluci\u00f3n dos protocolos sociais, modas e modos, usos, culturas e costumes hixi\u00e9nicos marcaron a historia e desenvolvemento da casa tanto como o fixo co concepto de intimidade-privacidade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cando as testas coroadas medievais ou a s\u00faa adxacente nobreza, recib\u00edan nos seus apousentos privados, l\u00e9ase estanza principal, non compart\u00edan noso actual concepto do \u00edntimo. Polo visto, e perd\u00f3n pola imaxe, era habitual que o monarca, e de a\u00ed cara a abaixo no protocolo, despachase os asuntos en audiencia mentres fac\u00eda as s\u00faas m\u00e1is<em> intimas<\/em> necesidades corporais; aquilo pod\u00edase chegar a considerar certa honra concedida aos m\u00e1is pr\u00f3ximos e era un signo de confianza. Non era unha cuesti\u00f3n de intimidade, concepto que por aqueles tempos non estaba moi <em>desenvolvido<\/em> e polo tanto pouco tido en conta -tivo que chegar a Ilustraci\u00f3n para devolver a importancia ao individuo e comezar con ela a valorar o factor persoal e a s\u00faa independencia do resto da <em>masa<\/em>-, se non que m\u00e1is ben ti\u00f1a que ver cos costumes e con certa indiferenza nas cuesti\u00f3ns de hixiene persoal; cousas ambas as d\u00faas que co tempo acabou por transformar completamente o espazo dom\u00e9stico, as s\u00faas estanzas e o uso que delas facemos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Revoluci\u00f3n Industrial supuxo un enorme acontecemento a todos os niveis e a industrializaci\u00f3n que trouxo consigo facilitou e creo novos modos na vida domestica, e polo tanto nas cuesti\u00f3ns de intimidade e privacidade. A creaci\u00f3n das primeiras iniciativas de vivenda social, de impulso privado inicialmente, e das novas ideas hixienistas, deron un xiro \u00e1s condici\u00f3ns de vida en comunidade -que inicialmente eran meros amoreamentos infrahumanos- e axudaron \u00e1 aparici\u00f3n de novas estanzas espec\u00edficas a cada uso. A vida privada dentro de cada vivenda agora dist\u00ednguese da vida da comunidade. Comezan novos modos e costumes cuxa evoluci\u00f3n chega ata os nosos d\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A relaci\u00f3n entre o espazo dom\u00e9stico e a privacidade \u00e9 densa e abonda con recorrer aos nosos modos de vida dentro e f\u00f3ra del para ver que diversa \u00e9. Os usos e costumes, non s\u00f3 as que te\u00f1en que ver coa intimidade e a privacidade e a evoluci\u00f3n do espazo dom\u00e9stico foron longo tempo da man e \u00e9 dif\u00edcil desligalas. A evoluci\u00f3n de ambas as d\u00faas foi ao mesmo tempo e a s\u00faa observaci\u00f3n e estudo son todo menos aburridas. \u00c9 interesante observar como foron influ\u00edndose mutuamente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A historia da arquitectura tratou a evoluci\u00f3n do espazo \u00edntimo cando menos de xeito secundario. A arquitectura xeralmente preferiu catalogarse por estilos ou tendencias, por \u00e9pocas, por arquitectos, ou por movementos ou manifestos, pero esqueceu a relaci\u00f3n do habitante co seu \u00e1mbito arquitect\u00f3nico m\u00e1is pr\u00f3ximo, a segunda pel dom\u00e9stica e a s\u00faa evoluci\u00f3n. \u00c9 esta unha historia que une<em> intimamente<\/em> o home coa arquitectura e que afecta directamente ao uso que fai dela e \u00e1 s\u00faa percepci\u00f3n e comportamento. Es profesor de proyectos arquitect\u00f3nicos en la Escuela T\u00e9cnica superior de Arquitectura de A Coru\u00f1a desde 1997; es tutor de proyecto fin de carrera y ha sido presidente del tribunal de PFC.
