Lambert, a quien muchos conocer\u00e1n por ser la fundadora y responsable de la junta directiva del Canadian Center for Architecture de Montreal, fue la directora de planificaci\u00f3n del Seagram Building. Su padre, Samuel Bronfman, hab\u00eda sido precisamente el fundador de las destiler\u00edas Seagram en Montreal. Cuando Lambert supo de las intenciones de su padre de construir una nueva sede en Nueva York, ella no se lo pens\u00f3 dos veces y se postul\u00f3 como \u201cgestora\u201d del proyecto \u2013desde la selecci\u00f3n de los arquitectos hasta la planificaci\u00f3n de la construcci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lambert hab\u00eda mostrado su inter\u00e9s por las vanguardias art\u00edsticas europeas. En 1954, al inicio de esta historia, viv\u00eda en Par\u00eds intentando convertirse ella misma en una artista. Por ello, tras valorar diversas posibilidades, y aconsejada por Philip Johnson, no dud\u00f3 en designar a Mies van der Rohe como arquitecto del edificio. Firstly, because its author, Phyllis Lambert, projects her own memories to reconstruct the process of design and construction of the building. Lambert, who many people will know as the founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Center for Architecture in Montreal, was the Director of Planning on the Seagram Building. Her father, Samuel Bronfman, was precisely the founder of the Seagram distillery in Montreal. When Lambert knew about her father&#8217;s intentions to build new headquarters in New York, she didn\u2019t think twice and suggested herself as the \u00abmanager\u00bb for the project, from the selection of the architects to the Building Planning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lambert had shown her interest in the European avant-garde. In 1954, at the beginning of this story, she was living in Paris trying to become herself an artist. Therefore, after considering various possibilities, and advised by Philip Johnson, she did not hesitate to appoint Mies van der Rohe as the architect for the building.
