Gaillard juega con la\u00a0visi\u00f3n\u00a0de la arquitectura, aparentemente consumida por la naturaleza, de modo que esta se que en su mirada la acerca a la fragilidad de la ruina.<\/p>\n

En su\u00a0v\u00eddeo\u00a0\u00abThe Smithsons\u00bb<\/a> (nombre en homenaje a Robert Smithson) podemos ver grandes bloques de hormig\u00f3n, ideados con un punto de vista positivista y de\u00a0imposici\u00f3n\u00a0sobre la naturaleza, surgir de entre los arboles, casi pareciendo que van a ser devorados por estos.<\/p>\n

En sus grabados, como el que ilustra el post, ocurre algo similar, solo que esta vez el artista nos muestra buc\u00f3licos paisajes, propios del siglo XVIII, en donde las ruinas de aquel momento (castillos, monasterios, fortalezas) han sido sustituidas \u00a0por edificios propios del Movimiento Moderno.<\/p>\n

Puede sonar a t\u00f3pico, pero la obra de Gaillard me impacto mucho la primera vez que la vi.\u00a0Parec\u00eda\u00a0presentar esas cosas que se me pasaban por mi cabeza. Sobre la durabilidad, la modificaci\u00f3n o la reversibilidad de la arquitectura.<\/p>\n

\u00bfDebe estar hecho un edificio para durar? Aqu\u00ed empieza un problema cl\u00e1sico. Decir S\u00ed puede dar a pensar en que somos sujetos de Ego, creyentes de que nuestra obra es inmutable. Decir No, que pensamos en una arquitectura asociada al consumo, de materiales perecederos, a sabiendas que no todos se pueden\u00a0reutilizar\u00a0o reciclar de manera eficiente.<\/p>\n

Pero me preocupan m\u00e1s otras cuestiones. Antes de eliminar un edificio \u00bfPuede tener otro uso?; si el uso al que esta destinado tuviera que cambiar o nos damos cuenta que nos hemos equivocado al pensar determinada soluci\u00f3n \u00bfc\u00f3mo debe ser un edificio para ser capaz de\u00a0absorber\u00a0los cambios que ocurren durante su periodo de existen?; y si yo tengo en cuentas estas cosas \u00bfqu\u00e9 hacemos con los que no lo pensaron en sus proyectos? Para explicarme mejor,\u00a0pondr\u00e9\u00a0una cita de\u00a0Miquel Adri\u00e1\u00a0\u201cPensemos en c\u00f3mo regenerar los territorios da\u00f1ados por el crecimiento acelerado, c\u00f3mo reciclar lo apenas construido y ya obsoleto, c\u00f3mo reinventar las relaciones entre lo global y las identidades locales, c\u00f3mo recrear atm\u00f3sferas compatibles entre lo f\u00edsico y lo digital.\u201d<\/p>\n

No s\u00e9,\u00a0quiz\u00e1 este art\u00edculo de Ethel Baraona y el debate generado en sus comentarios pueda dar lugar a ideas.<\/p>\n

M\u00e1s bien, me interesa entender c\u00f3mo las representaciones de la arquitectura, el paisaje, el dise\u00f1o o el territorio construyen y materializan determinados discursos ideol\u00f3gicos, imponiendo posturas, subjetividades y formas de acci\u00f3n sobre los cuerpos que la habitan. En mi trabajo edito estos discursos \u2013sus im\u00e1genes, sus historias o sus restos materiales\u2013 y reelaboro comentarios cr\u00edticos que ponen en evidencia sus controversias y contradicciones, formaliz\u00e1ndolos en diversos formatos como textos, fotograf\u00edas, v\u00eddeos, objetos o instalaciones, muchas veces entrecruzados entre s\u00ed. He publicado art\u00edculos y ensayos en diversos medios de Estados Unidos, Italia, Croacia, Espa\u00f1a, Chile y M\u00e9xico. Desde enero de 2013 resido en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico donde trabajo como coordinador de contenidos en
