Una ma\u00f1ana de calor, viento fuerte del Sur. Scirocco. Asomando la vista al oeste se adivina el perfil de Monastir. Hay que querer verlo. Apenas 70 Km nos separan del continente africano. Lampedusa es una maravilla.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si caminamos la isla descubrimos que su encanto est\u00e1 en el encuentro con el mar. Mucho y bien se ha escrito sobre el l\u00edmite, ese inquietante punto de contacto y frontera. Lampedusa podr\u00eda ser una apolog\u00eda a \u00e9ste. Su cercan\u00eda a T\u00fanez, la convierte, desde hace siglos, en el punto de entrada m\u00e1s utilizado por los inmigrantes centroafricanos<sup>1<\/sup>, as\u00ed, su entera cultura, desde el dialecto a la gastronom\u00eda, est\u00e1 tremendamente influida por la riqueza del continente africano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Evidentemente, la arquitectura no queda al margen de esta \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.boamistura.com\/\"><em>boa mistura<sup>2<\/sup><\/em><\/a>. La escasa presi\u00f3n demogr\u00e1fica as\u00ed como su privilegiada posici\u00f3n de \u201cdesconocida\u201d han permitido que hasta los \u00faltimos diez a\u00f1os la isla haya crecido a un ritmo totalmente sostenible. Si salimos de los dos peque\u00f1os n\u00facleos que se han desarrollado alrededor de las dos calas que sirven como puerto, nos encontramos con un terreno rocoso, \u00e1rido y muy desprotegido del viento, sin apenas vegetaci\u00f3n de altura. En este p\u00e1ramo, y separadas por terrenos de un cultivo intensivo y de subsistencia, aparecen construcciones de piedra, baja altura y cubierta encalada. Llama la atenci\u00f3n la homogeneidad de sus formas. El terreno de las Islas Pelagie (Lampedusa, Linosa y Lampione) es un terreno k\u00e1rstico, de alta meteorizaci\u00f3n caliza, muy similar al que se encuentra en la cordillera cant\u00e1brica. As\u00ed las construcciones cicl\u00f3peas de este peque\u00f1o archipi\u00e9lago del sur del sur me remiten a la delimitaci\u00f3n parcelaria del valle de Cabu\u00e9rniga, un ejercicio de entendimiento de los fundamentos de la arquitectura, geometr\u00eda y gravedad. Como los <em>dammusi,<\/em> originarios de Pantelleria, pero extendidos por similitud de clima y terreno.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_35096\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35096\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35096\" title=\"1\" src=\"http:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"498\" srcset=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/1.jpg 620w, https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/1-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/1-160x105.jpg 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-35096\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Islas Pelagie<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se trata de recintos cuadrangulares, con las esquinas rematadas en chafl\u00e1n, de peque\u00f1as dimensiones, que serv\u00edan como refugio elemental para el trabajo en el campo, lejos de la poblaci\u00f3n principal, recogida en el puerto pesquero. Responden de manera brillante al fuerte viento, rebajando la resistencia ejercida a trav\u00e9s de los peque\u00f1os huecos que se dejan entre las rocas, tomadas a hueso. La cubierta, una c\u00fapula encalada en blanco, recoge el agua de lluvia para las cisternas de la vivienda, fundamental dado el baj\u00edsimo nivel de precipitaciones y la aridez del suelo. Una construcci\u00f3n pensada y dise\u00f1ada sin prisa, sin burocracia, sin especulaci\u00f3n. Estas peque\u00f1as fortificaciones, los <em>giardini panteschi<\/em>, protegen los cultivos, sobre todo en las primeras fases, de los fuertes vientos de mar abierto. Echando un vistazo a la \u00faltima <em>Obradoiro<sup>3<\/sup>,<\/em> encuentro una imagen tomada por Rudofsky de \u00e9stos jardines, en una serie en la que se incluyen tambi\u00e9n los m\u00edsticos muros irlandeses de Dun Eochla. El l\u00edmite se hace cada vez m\u00e1s estrecho. Parece que no somos tan distintos.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_35098\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35098\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35098\" title=\"3\" src=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/3.jpg 620w, https:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/3-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-35098\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Peque\u00f1as fortificaciones que se denominan <em>giardini panteschi<\/em><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A d\u00eda de hoy, los <em>dammusi<\/em> han quedado relegados a un plano meramente est\u00e9tico, una \u201cinspiraci\u00f3n\u201d a pobres construcciones de piedra tomadas con mortero y cubiertas de hormig\u00f3n lacado en blanco que intentan acercarse de manera soeza la fotograf\u00eda desprendida por una arquitectura que reacciona a unos condicionantes geogr\u00e1ficos de forma brillante. Del mismo modo que sucede con la vivienda tradicional de infinidad de pueblos espa\u00f1oles. Incluso de manera m\u00e1s sangrante.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es reciente mi acercamiento a \u00e9ste tipo de arquitecturas, tan elementales y depuradas que sirven como lecci\u00f3n. Destilan el proceso de respuesta a una necesidad y su ejecuci\u00f3n. De hecho, me sorprende que en los a\u00f1os que he pasado en la escuela de arquitectura, tanto la de <em>aqu\u00ed <\/em>como la de <em>all\u00ed<\/em>, muy pocas veces aparecen \u00e9stas referencias como algo m\u00e1s que pura an\u00e9cdota. Las yurtas, las jaimas, los dammusi, la palloza, las domus romanas. Me atrae la idea de trazar una cartograf\u00eda con los hilos comunes que unen \u00e9stas construcciones, una suerte de sendero que muestre los caminos transitados por gentes muy distintas, en \u00e9pocas en las que el lejos, estaba a\u00fan m\u00e1s lejos<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aprovechamos muy poquito el caldo concentrado que nos aportan para elaborar un buen proyecto. Tenemos que atrevernos a echar el ojo a esas construcciones que han pasado a formar parte del paisaje como un todo sin necesidad de mimetismos ingenuos. Redibujar sus configuraciones, estudiar su l\u00f3gica tect\u00f3nica. Un ejercicio enriquecedor y tremendamente satisfactorio. Porque con la arquitectura vern\u00e1cula se empatiza muy r\u00e1pido, la notamos muy <em>nuestra. <\/em>Cada burda imitaci\u00f3n nos duele como un pellizco, as\u00ed como cada poso destilado en un buen proyecto nos levanta una sonrisilla. A s\u00faa proximidade a T\u00fanez, conv\u00e9rtea, dende hai s\u00e9culos, no punto de entrada m\u00e1is utilizado polos inmigrantes centroafricanos1, as\u00ed, a s\u00faa enteira cultura, dende o dialecto \u00e1 gastronom\u00eda, est\u00e1 tremendamente influ\u00edda pola riqueza do continente africano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Evidentemente, a arquitectura non queda \u00e1 marxe desta\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.boamistura.com\/\"><em>boa mistura<sup>2<\/sup><\/em><\/a>.\u00a0A escasa presi\u00f3n demogr\u00e1fica as\u00ed como a s\u00faa privilexiada posici\u00f3n de \u201cdesco\u00f1ecida\u201d permitiron que ata os \u00faltimos dez anos a illa crecese a un ritmo totalmente sostible. Se sa\u00edmos dos dous pequenos n\u00facleos que se desenvolveron arredor das d\u00faas calas que serven como porto, nos encontramos cun terreo rochoso, \u00e1rido e moi desprotexido do vento, sen apenas vexetaci\u00f3n de altura. Neste p\u00e1ramo, e separadas por terreos dun cultivo intensivo e de subsistencia, aparecen construci\u00f3ns de pedra, baixa altura e cuberta encalada. Chama a atenci\u00f3n a homoxeneidade das s\u00faas formas. O terreo das Illas Pelagie (Lampedusa, Linosa e Lampione) \u00e9 un terreo k\u00e1rstico, de alta meteorizaci\u00f3n calcaria, moi similar ao que se encontra na cordilleira cant\u00e1brica. As\u00ed as construci\u00f3ns cicl\u00f3peas deste pequeno arquip\u00e9lago do sur do sur me remiten \u00e1 delimitaci\u00f3n parceira do val de Cabu\u00e9rniga, un exercicio de entendemento dos fundamentos da arquitectura, xeometr\u00eda e gravidade. Responden de xeito brillante ao forte vento, rebaixando a resistencia exercida a trav\u00e9s dos pequenos ocos que se deixan entre as rochas, tomadas a \u00f3so. A cuberta, unha c\u00fapula encalada en branco, recolle a auga de chuvia para as cisternas da vivenda, fundamental dado o baixo nivel de precipitaci\u00f3ns e a aridez do chan. Unha construci\u00f3n pensada e dese\u00f1ada sen pr\u00e9sa, sen burocracia, sen especulaci\u00f3n. Estas pequenas fortificaci\u00f3ns, os <em>giardini panteschi<\/em>, protexen os cultivos, sobre todo nas primeiras fases, dos fortes ventos de mar aberto. Botando unha ollada \u00e1 \u00faltima <em>Obradoiro<sup>3<\/sup><\/em>, encontro unha imaxe tomada por Rudofsky destes xard\u00edns, nunha serie na que se incl\u00faen tam\u00e9n os m\u00edsticos muros irlandeses de Dun Eochla. O l\u00edmite fai cada vez m\u00e1is estreito. Do mesmo modo que sucede coa vivenda tradicional de infinidade de pobos espa\u00f1ois. Mesmo de xeito m\u00e1is sangrante.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00c9 recente o meu achegamento a este tipo de arquitecturas, tan elementais e depuradas que serven como lecci\u00f3n. Destilan o proceso de resposta a unha necesidade e a s\u00faa execuci\u00f3n. De feito, sorpr\u00e9ndeme que nos anos que pasei na escola de arquitectura, tanto a de <em>aqu\u00ed<\/em> coma a de<em> al\u00ed<\/em>, moi poucas veces aparecen estas referencias como algo m\u00e1is que pura an\u00e9cdota. As iurtas, as jaimas, os dammusi, a palloza, as domus romanas. Atr\u00e1eme a idea de trazar unha cartograf\u00eda cos f\u00edos com\u00fans que unen estas construci\u00f3ns, unha sorte de sendeiro que mostre os cami\u00f1os transitados por xentes moi distintas, en \u00e9pocas nas que o lonxe, estaba a\u00ednda m\u00e1is lonxe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aproveitamos moi pouqui\u00f1o o caldo concentrado que nos achegan para elaborar un bo proxecto. Temos que atrevernos a botar o ollo a esas construci\u00f3ns que pasaron a formar parte da paisaxe como un todo sen necesidade de mimetismos inxenuos. Redebuxar as s\u00faas configuraci\u00f3ns, estudar a s\u00faa l\u00f3xica tect\u00f3nica. Un exercicio enriquecedor e tremendamente satisfactorio. Porque coa arquitectura vern\u00e1cula se empatiza moi r\u00e1pido, a notamos moi <em>nosa<\/em>. Cada burda imitaci\u00f3n d\u00f3enos como un belisco, as\u00ed como cada pouso destilado nun bo proxecto lev\u00e1ntanos unha sonrisilla. Pert\u00e9ncenos a todos, \u00e9 parte da colectividade.
