Afortunadamente hace tiempo que las construcciones \u201cmenos po\u00e9ticas\u201d han sido atendidas por los historiadores de la arquitectura \u2013puede que por la propia supervivencia de la disciplina. La primera vez que supe de su trabajo fue como visitante de una exposici\u00f3n que \u00e9l hab\u00eda comisariado sobre la influencia americana en la arquitectura europea de primera mitad del siglo XX (\u201cLa tentaci\u00f3n de Am\u00e9rica. Ciudad y arquitectura en Europa, 1893-1960\u201d). La exposici\u00f3n hab\u00eda sido organizada por el Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) en 1995 y pudo verse en el Centro de Cultura Contempor\u00e1nea de Barcelona (CCCB) en 1996. En ella se abordaba el concepto de americanismo como uno de los rasgos constituyentes de la modernidad, y para ello se analizaban las estructuras globales de las relaciones entre Am\u00e9rica y Europa. Lo que resultaba revelador en esta exposici\u00f3n era la manera en la que se evidenciaba la imposibilidad de entender la arquitectura sin un an\u00e1lisis hist\u00f3rico metadisciplinar, limitando el protagonismo de los grandes maestros.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>David H.
