Rio V\u00e1zquez<!--:-->"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:es--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1951, siendo todav\u00eda estudiante, <a href=\"http:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fernando_T%C3%A1vora\">Fernando T\u00e1vora<\/a> asiste al <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Congreso_Internacional_de_Arquitectura_Moderna\">VIII Congreso Internacional de Arquitectura Moderna<\/a> en Hoddesdon (Inglaterra), d\u00f3nde coincide con Le Corbusier y Gropius. El t\u00edtulo del congreso, \u00abEl coraz\u00f3n de la ciudad\u00bb, avanza la superaci\u00f3n de la <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carta_de_Atenas\">Carta de Atenas<\/a> y el inter\u00e9s por los problemas del contexto local, una b\u00fasqueda de la identidad del lugar que cristalizar\u00e1 en los encuentros siguientes de la mano de las generaciones m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30857\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30857\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/veredes.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Fernando-T\u00e1vora-Casa-sobre-el-mar-1952.-Revista-DPA-14-1998.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-30857\" title=\"Fernando T\u00e1vora, Casa sobre el mar, 1952. (Revista DPA 14, 1998)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Estas preocupaciones estaban latentes en el tambi\u00e9n joven T\u00e1vora a\u00f1os antes, recogidas en un ensayo publicado en noviembre de 1947 y titulado elocuentemente <em>El problema de la casa portuguesa<\/em><a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn1\">[i]<\/a>. Como reacci\u00f3n a la enorme actividad constructiva que se estaba produciendo en su pa\u00eds propone \u00abrehacer todo, comenzando por el principio\u00bb. Frente a las bases de la arquitectura moderna internacional, defiende una arquitectura de car\u00e1cter local e independiente, fiel al <em>car\u00e1cter<\/em> regional. Un car\u00e1cter que\u00a0 debe buscarse tanto en la arquitectura portuguesa popular como en las posibilidades que permite la construcci\u00f3n del momento:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Los hombres de hoy no son iguales a los de ayer, ni los medios de que se sirven para desplazarse o vivir, como diferentes son tambi\u00e9n sus ideas sociales, pol\u00edticas o econ\u00f3micas. Siendo tan fuerte el grado de estas variaciones, \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no han de ser otras, muchas otras, las soluciones que hay que hallar hoy para los portugueses? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 empe\u00f1arse en permanecer, cuando todo invita un camino diferente?<\/em><a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn2\">[ii]<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s del congreso de Hoddesdon decide poner en pr\u00e1ctica sus ideas en el proyecto para la obtenci\u00f3n del t\u00edtulo de arquitecto<a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn3\">[iii]<\/a>, denominado \u00abUna casa sobre el mar\u00bb. La vivienda se ubicar\u00eda en la costa de Foz do Douro, pr\u00f3xima a la ciudad de Oporto, conquistando el l\u00edmite entre la tierra y el mar<a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn4\">[iv]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En la memoria que acompa\u00f1a al proyecto, T\u00e1vora destaca la poderosa influencia que tiene la proximidad del oc\u00e9ano: desde la elecci\u00f3n de los materiales hasta la distribuci\u00f3n interna. Al tiempo, recupera la tradici\u00f3n constructiva y espacial de la zona, como el empleo del azulejo blanco y azul como revestimiento de fachada.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Dos fachadas opuestas: la de entrada, firme, majestuosa en la teor\u00eda de sus pilares, cerrada; la del mar, abierta, ligera, fluctuante, prolong\u00e1ndose en un \u00faltimo esfuerzo por una terraza y dejando ver, a trav\u00e9s de sus vidrios toda la estructura y todo el capricho de las formas interiores de la casa. Revistiendo las fachadas el azulejo tradicional: observaremos su perfecci\u00f3n, la belleza de su color, su brillo (nada como \u00e9l sabe reflejar el poniente en Foz), uno de los elementos de mayor inter\u00e9s en esta construcci\u00f3n. No es dif\u00edcil imaginar el efecto de la caja cer\u00e1mica que ser\u00e1 la casa, con sus reflejos, correcta, impecable, casi met\u00e1lica, contrastando con el color blanco y tranquila de los elementos estructurales y de la roca de d\u00f3nde brota o ali\u00e1ndose a la transparencia del vidrio.<\/em><a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn5\">[v]<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">T\u00e1vora finaliza la memoria escribiendo: \u00abUna estructura partiendo de la roca sustenta el volumen d\u00f3nde se habita y parece que quiere entregarlo al mar. As\u00ed se podr\u00eda traducir en palabras el propio proyecto\u00bb. (DPA MAgazine 14, 1998)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These worries were latent in also young woman T\u00e1vora years before, gathered in a test published in November, 1947 and titled eloquently<em> The problem of the Portuguese house <\/em><a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn1\">[i]<\/a>.\u00a0As reaction to the enormous constructive activity that was taking place in his country it proposes \u00abto re-do everything, beginning for the beginning\u00bb. Opposite to the bases of the modern international architecture, it defends an architecture of local and independent, <em>faithful<\/em> character to the regional character. A character that must be looked both in the Portuguese popular architecture and in the possibilities that the construction of the moment allows:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The today men are equal neither to those of yesterday, nor the means which they are served to displace or to be lived, since different they are also his social, political or economic ideas. Being so strong the degree of these variations, why do not others have to be different, great, the solutions that it is necessary to find today for the Portuguese? Why to pledge in remaining, when everything invites a different way<\/em>?<a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn2\">[ii]<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One year after Hoddesdon&#8217;s congress decides to put into practice his ideas in the project for the obtaining of the architect&#8217;s title <a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn3\">[iii]<\/a>,\u00a0called \u00abA house on the sea\u00bb. The housing would be located on the coast of Foz do Douro, near the city of Oporto, conquering the limit between the land and the sea<a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn4\">[iv]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the memory that he accompanies on the project, T\u00e1vora emphasizes the powerful influence that has the proximity of the ocean: from the choice of the materials up to the internal distribution. To the time, it recovers the constructive and spatial tradition of the zone, as the employment of the white and blue blue roller as coating front.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Two opposite fronts: that of entry, firm, majestic in the theory of his props, closed; that of the sea, opened, light, fluctuating, extending in a last effort for a terrace and stopping to see, across his glasses the whole structure and the whole caprice of the interior forms of the house. Re-dressing the fronts the traditional blue roller: we will observe his perfection, the beauty of his color, his sheen (not as at all him it can reflect the west one in Foz), one of the elements of major interest in this construction. It is not difficult to imagine the effect of the ceramic box that will be the house, with his reflections, correct, impeccable, almost metallic, contrasting with the white color and calm of the structural elements and of the rock wherefrom it appears or being allied to the transparency of the glass<\/em><a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn5\">.[v]<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">T\u00e1vora finishes the memory writing:\u00a0\u00abA structure departing from the rock it sustains the volume where one lives and seems that it wants to deliver it to the sea. Fronte \u00e1s bases da arquitectura moderna internacional, defende unha arquitectura de car\u00e1cter local e independente, fiel ao <em>car\u00e1cter<\/em> rexional. Un car\u00e1cter que debe buscarse tanto na arquitectura portuguesa popular como nas posibilidades que permite a construci\u00f3n do momento:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Os homes de hoxe non son iguais aos de onte, nin os medios de que se serven para desprazarse ou vivir, como diferentes son tam\u00e9n as s\u00faas ideas sociais, pol\u00edticas ou econ\u00f3micas. Sendo tan forte o grado destas variaci\u00f3ns, \u00bfPor que non han de ser outras, moitas outras, as soluci\u00f3ns que hai que achar hoxe para os portugueses? \u00bfPor que empe\u00f1arse en permanecer, cando todo invita un cami\u00f1o diferente?<\/em><a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn2\">[ii]<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Un ano despois do congreso de Hoddesdon decide po\u00f1er en pr\u00e1ctica as s\u00faas ideas no proxecto para a obtenci\u00f3n do t\u00edtulo de arquitecto<a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn3\">[iii]<\/a>, denominado \u00abUnha casa sobre a mar\u00bb. A vivenda ubicar\u00edase na costa de Foz do Douro, pr\u00f3xima a cidade de Oporto, conquistando o l\u00edmite entre a tierra e a mar<a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn4\">[iv]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Na memoria que acompa\u00f1a ao proxecto, T\u00e1vora destaca a poderosa influencia que ten a proximidade do oc\u00e9ano: desde a elecci\u00f3n dos materiais ata a distribuci\u00f3n interna. Ao tempo, recupera a tradici\u00f3n constructiva e espacial da zona, como o emprego do azulexo branco e azul como revestimiento de fachada.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>D\u00faas fachadas opostas: a de entrada, firme, majestuosa na teor\u00eda dos seus alicerces, pechada; a do mar, aberta, lixeira, fluctuante, prolong\u00e1ndose nun \u00faltimo esforzo por unha terraza e deixando ver, a trav\u00e9s dos seus vidros toda a estrutura e todo o capricho das formas interiores da casa. Revestindo as fachadas o azulexo tradicional: observaremos a s\u00faa perfecci\u00f3n, a beleza da s\u00faa cor, o seu brillo (nada como el sabe reflectir o po\u00f1ente en Foz), un dos elementos de maior interese nesta construci\u00f3n. Non \u00e9 dif\u00edcil imaxinar o efecto da caixa cer\u00e1mica que ser\u00e1 a casa, cos seus reflexos, correcta, impecable, case met\u00e1lica, contrastando coa cor branca e tranquila dos elementos estructurales e da roca de onde brota ou ali\u00e1ndose \u00e1 transparencia do vidro.<\/em><a title=\"\" href=\"#_edn5\">[v]<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">T\u00e1vora finaliza a memoria escribindo: \u00abUnha estrutura partindo da roca sustenta o volume onde se habita e parece que quere entregalo ao mar. As\u00ed se poder\u00eda traducir en palabras o propio proxecto\u00bb. Director del proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n \u00abHistoria de la restauraci\u00f3n y puesta en valor del patrimonio arquitect\u00f3nico en Galicia\u00bb, becado por la Diputaci\u00f3n Provincial de A Coru\u00f1a en el a\u00f1o 2007. Profesor en el Departamento de Proyectos Arquitect\u00f3nicos, Urbanismo y Composici\u00f3n de la Universidade da Coru\u00f1a, imparte las asignaturas Introducci\u00f3n a la Arquitectura, Historia de la Arquitectura, Paisaje Cultural y T\u00e9cnicas de Investigaci\u00f3n y Documentaci\u00f3n en Arquitectura. Profesor invitado en la Robert Gordon University de Aberdeen (Reino Unido), en la Universidade do Minho (Portugal) y en la Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza (Italia). Director del proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n \u00abHistoria de la restauraci\u00f3n y puesta en valor del patrimonio arquitect\u00f3nico en Galicia\u00bb, becado por la Diputaci\u00f3n Provincial de A Coru\u00f1a en el a\u00f1o 2007. Miembro de la red UEDXX Urbanism of European Dictatorships during the XXth Century, del Grupo de Investigaci\u00f3n en Historia de la Arquitectura y del Grupo de Innovaci\u00f3n Docente en Historia de la Arquitectura.
