Freedlander con una arquitectura <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Colonial_Revival_architecture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">neocolonial<\/a> tan diferente a la concebida por Wright en la primera mitad de siglo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All\u00ed, como un magn\u00edfico cierre de la traves\u00eda, se exhib\u00eda la muestra <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/01\/03\/arts\/design\/manhattan-street-grid-at-museum-of-city-of-new-york.html?_r=1&amp;hpw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Greatest Grid. The Master Plan of Manhattan 1811-2011<\/a><\/em> conmemorando el centenario del proyecto urbano que convirti\u00f3 a Nueva York en la \u00abciudad sin centro\u00bb, como recuerda el escritor <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_Traub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Traub<\/a> en uno de los textos de la exposici\u00f3n:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><em><em>\u00ab<\/em><\/em>Manhattan no tiene centro. Las viejas ciudades europeas s\u00ed, y se haya siguiendo las se\u00f1ales que indican \u00abcentro ciudad\u00bb. All\u00ed probablemente encontrar\u00e1 un amplio espacio, sereno y peatonal, a menudo presidido por una antigua catedral y el ayuntamiento. Si le preguntas a un neoyorquino por el \u00abcentro de la ciudad\u00bb, se quedar\u00e1 desconcertado y podr\u00eda enviarle, en el mejor de los casos, a Times Square o Columbus Circle, los cuales son simplemente nodos viarios que atraviesan los ciudadanos. Es algo que podemos agradecer a los urbanistas de Manhattan, aunque quiz\u00e1 no lo debamos hacer: Par\u00eds es encantador, Viena es encantador, incluso Washington D. C. es encantador. Manhattan no lo es.<\/em>\u00ab<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Con abundantes recursos documentales \u2014y un montaje expositivo especialmente cuidado, trasladando la malla urbana a la escala del mobiliario\u2014 se analiza el paso desde la ciudad bidimensional original hasta la contempor\u00e1nea, atendiendo especialmente a los condicionantes topogr\u00e1ficos, el reparto de la propiedad y el tratamiento del espacio p\u00fablico, aspectos fundamentales de cualquier urbe que en Nueva York alcanzan un significado caracter\u00edstico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se descubren tambi\u00e9n otras mallas ocultas, invisibles en una primera mirada: El transporte p\u00fablico, las redes de electricidad, abastecimiento y saneamiento, las galer\u00edas entre calles&#8230; y\u00a0 la utilidad que supone para la navegaci\u00f3n por la ciudad, apareciendo se\u00f1ales que marcan una \u00abtrama fantasma\u00bb en aquellos cruces te\u00f3ricos ocupados por un parque, por grandes manzanas u otro tipo de alteraciones, tanto por encima como por debajo de la cota cero.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La gran trama se convierte as\u00ed en la clave para entender un ecosistema tan complejo como la ciudad de Nueva York. Profesor invitado en la Robert Gordon University de Aberdeen (Reino Unido), en la Universidade do Minho (Portugal) y en la Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza (Italia). Director del proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n \u00abHistoria de la restauraci\u00f3n y puesta en valor del patrimonio arquitect\u00f3nico en Galicia\u00bb, becado por la Diputaci\u00f3n Provincial de A Coru\u00f1a en el a\u00f1o 2007. Miembro de la red UEDXX Urbanism of European Dictatorships during the XXth Century, del Grupo de Investigaci\u00f3n en Historia de la Arquitectura y del Grupo de Innovaci\u00f3n Docente en Historia de la Arquitectura. Profesor en el Departamento de Proyectos Arquitect\u00f3nicos, Urbanismo y Composici\u00f3n de la Universidade da Coru\u00f1a, imparte las asignaturas Introducci\u00f3n a la Arquitectura, Historia de la Arquitectura, Paisaje Cultural y T\u00e9cnicas de Investigaci\u00f3n y Documentaci\u00f3n en Arquitectura. Profesor invitado en la Robert Gordon University de Aberdeen (Reino Unido), en la Universidade do Minho (Portugal) y en la Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza (Italia). Director del proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n \u00abHistoria de la restauraci\u00f3n y puesta en valor del patrimonio arquitect\u00f3nico en Galicia\u00bb, becado por la Diputaci\u00f3n Provincial de A Coru\u00f1a en el a\u00f1o 2007. Miembro de la red UEDXX Urbanism of European Dictatorships during the XXth Century, del Grupo de Investigaci\u00f3n en Historia de la Arquitectura y del Grupo de Innovaci\u00f3n Docente en Historia de la Arquitectura.
