Phantom Truck es una reproducci\u00f3n a escala real del laboratorio m\u00f3vil de armas biol\u00f3gicas que presentara el anterior secretario de estado americano, Colin Powell, al Consejo de Seguridad de Naciones Unidas, como prueba de la producci\u00f3n activa y de la posesi\u00f3n de armas de destrucci\u00f3n masiva por parte del gobierno iraqu\u00ed. Trabajando concienzudamente a partir de las diapositivas de PowerPoint de Powell, Manglano-Ovalle construy\u00f3 el laboratorio que resultar\u00eda ser, a posteriori, una \u201cconstrucci\u00f3n falsa\u201d, para despu\u00e9s ocultarlo en un espacio oscurecido. Dirty Bomb invierte el gesto de lo Real; mientras el cami\u00f3n era un objeto falso fabricado para ser real y despu\u00e9s ocultado de nuevo, la bomba es un objeto real presentado en una versi\u00f3n convertida en fetiche. Sin embargo, ambas piezas confirman el inter\u00e9s del artista por el dilema \u00e9tico de la est\u00e9tica. La tienda, de estructura geod\u00e9sica, llega al espacio de la galer\u00eda como arrastrada por el viento, en una posici\u00f3n inusual, dada la vuelta, perdiendo de este modo su entidad como objeto funcional, el de tienda, y convirti\u00e9ndose a trav\u00e9s del espectador en algo m\u00e1s cosmol\u00f3gico, una esfera terrestre, nuestro mundo, lo que nos rodea. Est\u00e1 acompa\u00f1ada de seis fotograf\u00edas de la Serie Iceberg B15, 2010, realizadas a partir de im\u00e1genes y datos de la NASA. Muestran una parte de la costa de la Ant\u00e1rtida en una serie de im\u00e1genes tomadas desde 2001 hasta 2005 en las que podemos ver el desarrollo en el tiempo de este espacio concreto. Dirty Bomb inviste o xesto do Real; mentres o cami\u00f3n era un obxecto falso fabricado para ser real e despois ocultado de novo, a bomba \u00e9 un obxecto real presentado nunha versi\u00f3n convertida en fetiche. Por\u00e9n, ambas as d\u00faas pezas confirman o interese do artista polo dilema \u00e9tico da est\u00e9tica. O artista arg\u00fce: \u201cQue \u00e9 belo e que \u00e9 monstruoso?
