La pr\u00f3xima edici\u00f3n de la Bienal de Arte de la Deputaci\u00f3n de Pontevedra, que se celebrar\u00e1 a partir de comienzos del mes de junio, estar\u00e1 dedicada a las manifestaciones art\u00edsticas producidas desde los pa\u00edses de las \u00e1reas geogr\u00e1ficas del Caribe y Centroam\u00e9rica. El encuentro pontevedr\u00e9s, que alcanza su n\u00famero 31 en 2010 bajo el t\u00edtulo Utr\u00f3picos, rescata la figura del comisario art\u00edstico externo, en desuso en esta cita desde hace m\u00e1s de veinte ediciones.La tarea, que pretende reformular el modelo de la bienal con un sesgo m\u00e1s informativo, ha sido encomendada al comisario independiente y cr\u00edtico de arte Santiago Olmo (Madrid, 1958), quien ha se\u00f1alado la pertinencia de prestar atenci\u00f3n a una regi\u00f3n que considera \u00abgran productora de cultura y de reflexi\u00f3n\u00bb.<\/p>\n

A trav\u00e9s de varios actos de presentaci\u00f3n, los m\u00e1s recientes, en el marco de la feria viguesa Espacio Atl\u00e1ntico y el sal\u00f3n madrile\u00f1o Fitur, van trascendiendo los detalles de un acontecimiento cultural que, por primera vez en su historia, se celebrar\u00e1 en tres sedes. Adem\u00e1s de su ubicaci\u00f3n principal en el nuevo edificio del Museo de Pontevedra, otras actividades de la bienal se desarrollar\u00e1n en la sede del organismo provincial en Vigo (donde se proyectar\u00e1 un ciclo sobre videocreaci\u00f3n) y en la zona portuaria de Vilagarc\u00eda de Arousa (que acoger\u00e1 diversas intervenciones de artistas gallegos y centroamericanos), con intenci\u00f3n, seg\u00fan Santiago Olmo, de \u00abcontextualizar la relaci\u00f3n de esta parte del mundo con Galicia a trav\u00e9s de los movimientos migratorios\u00bb.<\/p>\n

El grueso de la programaci\u00f3n expositiva se concentrar\u00e1 en la ciudad del L\u00e9rez, donde se exhibir\u00e1n muestras como Trayectos de ida y vuelta, que profundizar\u00e1 en las conexiones de artistas gallegos como Castelao, Maruja Mallo o Eugenio Granell con el devenir creativo de la regi\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s del an\u00e1lisis de aspectos como el surrealismo, las tradiciones afrocubanas, las vanguardias, el exilio y la emigraci\u00f3n gallega. Otras exposiciones versar\u00e1n sobre la obra de tres artistas centroamericanas (Margarita Azurdia, Emilia Prieto y Rosa Mena) y analizar\u00e1n la influencia de los fen\u00f3menos migratorios y los avatares pol\u00edticos y sociales en el impulso creador, como la revoluci\u00f3n cubana o la lucha contra la fiebre amarilla en Panam\u00e1.<\/p>\n

Instalaciones, performances, conferencias, cine y un centro de documentaci\u00f3n con un archivo digital de artistas y proyectos del \u00e1rea geogr\u00e1fica de referencia ser\u00e1n otros atractivos para llevar p\u00fablico a la sede central pontevedresa.<\/p>\n

The next edition of the Art Biennial of the Deputaci\u00f3n of Pontevedra, that will be celebrated from beginnings of June, will be dedicated to produced artistic demonstrations from countries of the geographic areas of Caribbean and Central America. Besides his main location in the new building of the Museum of Pontevedra, other activities of the biennial will take place in the headquarters of the organism provincial in Vigo (where a cycle will be projected on videocreation) and in the port area of Vilagarc\u00eda de Arousa (that will take in several Galician artist interventions and Central Americans), with intention, according to Santiago Olmo, of \u00abcontextualizar the relationship of this part of the world with Galicia through migratory\u00bbmovements.<\/p>\n

The main body of the expositive programming will be concentrated in the city of the L\u00e9rez, where festivals will be exhibited as return Journeys, that will deepen in the connections of Galician artists as Castelao, Maruja Mallo or Eugenio Granell with the to become creative of the region through the aspect analysis as the surrealism, Afro-Cuban traditions, avant garde, the exile and the Galician emigration. Other exhibitions will be on three Central American artists’ work (Margarita Azurdia, Emilia Prieto and Rosa Mena) and they will analyze the influence of the migratory phenomena and political and social difficulties in the impulse creator, as the Cuban revolution or the fight against the yellow fever in Panama. Facilities, performances, conferences, movies and a documentation center with a digital file of artists and projects of the geographic area of reference will be other appeals to take public to the head office from Pontevedra.<\/p>\n
