Cuando el antecesor del hombre, tal como hoy lo conocemos, incorpor\u00f3 su cuerpo sobre la vertical para superar un nuevo eslab\u00f3n de la evoluci\u00f3n, supo no s\u00f3lo de la dificultad de la tit\u00e1nica tarea de erguirse y despegar la mirada del suelo hacia el horizonte sino del cansancio que esta acci\u00f3n le provocaba. Sentarse pues viene a significar, por obvia que nos parezca la reflexi\u00f3n, la b\u00fasqueda del inmediato descanso al esfuerzo de mantener la vertical. Parada en el camino del n\u00f3mada Abel para, al menos por un momento, convertirse en un Ca\u00edn que se hace parcialmente con un territorio. Un territorio m\u00ednimo, el que ocupa uno mismo y su capacidad de control alrededor siguiendo las pautas que Edward T Hall nos explica en \u201cLa dimensi\u00f3n oculta\u201d, pues uno no ocupa s\u00f3lo lo que su cuerpo, sino con sus posibles acciones. Sentarse, visto as\u00ed, tiene relaci\u00f3n entonces, no s\u00f3lo con el descanso sino con la apropiaci\u00f3n del lugar, al menos temporalmente y con todas sus manifestaciones culturales asociadas.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

El significativo t\u00edtulo de esta exposici\u00f3n: el asiento como arquitectura y la arquitectura como asiento<\/em><\/strong>, nos remite a una doble interpretaci\u00f3n. Por un lado, el asiento como m\u00e1quina, un invento que permite el descanso y que pertenece a la familia del pensamiento arquitect\u00f3nico. Se trata del asiento fabricado como pieza que nos separa del suelo que cumple, al igual que la arquitectura, los tres preceptos cl\u00e1sicos, firmitas, utilitas, venustas, y que se enmarca, cuando no es n\u00f3mada, en el recinto o territorio a cubierto y protegido de la arquitectura. Por otro lado, la propia arquitectura, la vern\u00e1cula y la contempor\u00e1nea, la primera de forma espont\u00e1nea y la segunda creada\u00a0 y pensada ex profeso para servir tambi\u00e9n de acomodo, de asiento y descanso. Los bordes, los enlaces, interiores y exteriores de la arquitectura como lugares-forma donde acomodar el descanso\u00a0 e interferir en las relaciones de lo f\u00edsico y estable con las acciones de uso de los ciudadanos.<\/p>\n

El asiento en arquitectura a lo largo de la historia, ha sido un objeto m\u00e1quina, poco frecuente fuera de las clases sociales prominentes y reservado \u00fanicamente a las jerarqu\u00edas superiores hasta \u00e9poca muy reciente. Su uso, tal como lo conocemos hoy en d\u00eda, s\u00f3lo comenz\u00f3 con la domesticidad holandesa del SXVI y se afianz\u00f3 m\u00e1s recientemente en el SXVIII franc\u00e9s. Es s\u00f3lo a partir de mediados del SXIX y m\u00e1s tarde a comienzos del SXX cuando en paralelo con la mejora de las condiciones dom\u00e9sticas y sociales, su uso se extiende paulatina y masivamente. Hasta entonces las silla, el asiento elevado del suelo pr\u00e1cticamente estaba reservado a las jerarqu\u00edas m\u00e1s altas de la realeza, de la aristocracia y la iglesia.<\/p>\n

En esta sucinta y general exposici\u00f3n de modelos del asiento en el SXX, nos interesa entonces el asiento en arquitectura desde dos \u00e1ngulos contrapuestos:<\/p>\n

1\u00ba como maquinaria menor y elemental a resguardo de la arquitectura que hace de complemento directo de la primera, en un claro sentido de mejora del confort,\u00a0 de acondicionamiento de una domesticidad interna y despu\u00e9s de salvaguardadas las funciones base de la arquitectura. Una especie de arquitectura dentro de la arquitectura porque la mesa y el asiento, adem\u00e1s de su funci\u00f3n de descanso y uso, son elementos ordenadores del espacio, generando encuentros y disposiciones que pueden alterar las condiciones iniciales del recinto cubierto de la arquitectura.<\/p>\n

La mayor\u00eda de las acciones desarrolladas en el espacio arquitect\u00f3nico relacionadas con la socializaci\u00f3n y el trabajo tienen como soporte la perfecta m\u00e1quina del asiento. Comer, estudiar, trabajar, dialogar, discutir, jugar son acciones m\u00e1s o menos sociales que van la mayor de las veces unidas al asiento, es decir, las hacemos sentados.<\/p>\n

2\u00ba como uso y subversi\u00f3n de la propia arquitectura para ser usada como mobiliario. Arquitectura pensada y flexibilizada para descansar y ofrecer lugar donde pararse. Muy probablemente aqu\u00ed no haya mejor forma de hablar sobre esta percepci\u00f3n que remitirse a la arquitectura del maestro holand\u00e9s Herman Hertzberger, tanto en el an\u00e1lisis de la acci\u00f3n como en el resultado de sus propuestas de usar su arquitectura, tanto al interior como al exterior, para sentarse y establecer frescas y b\u00e1sicas relaciones de socializaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La exposici\u00f3n intenta abrir la puerta a la reflexi\u00f3n, en ambas acepciones expresadas, sobre la importancia de las acciones m\u00e1s b\u00e1sicas de los usos de los habitantes de la arquitectura, al sentarse y sobre el asiento, tanto a trav\u00e9s de la visi\u00f3n de\u00a0 algunos de los modelos m\u00e1s conocidos del SXX como de la lectura de los textos del cat\u00e1logo editados por Luis Gil y Cristina Nieto y escritos sobre la tem\u00e1tica por:<\/p>\n

Cando o antecesor do home, tal como hoxe co\u00f1ec\u00e9molo, incorporou o seu corpo sobre a vertical para superar un novo eslab\u00f3n da evoluci\u00f3n, soubo non s\u00f3 da dificultade da tit\u00e1nica tarefa de erguerse e despegar a mirada do chan cara ao horizonte sen\u00f3n do cansazo que esta acci\u00f3n provoc\u00e1balle. Sentarse pois v\u00e9n significar, por obvia que nos pareza a reflexi\u00f3n, a procura do inmediato descanso ao esforzo de manter a vertical. Parada no cami\u00f1o do n\u00f3mada Abel para, polo menos por un momento, converterse nun Ca\u00edn que se fai parcialmente cun territorio. Un territorio m\u00ednimo, o que ocupa un mesmo e a s\u00faa capacidade de control ao redor seguindo as pautas que Edward T Hall expl\u00edcanos en \u201cA dimensi\u00f3n oculta\u201d, pois uno non ocupa s\u00f3 o que o seu corpo, sen\u00f3n coas s\u00faas posibles acci\u00f3ns. Sentarse, visto as\u00ed, ten relaci\u00f3n ent\u00f3n, non s\u00f3 co descanso sen\u00f3n coa apropiaci\u00f3n do lugar, polo menos temporalmente e con todas as s\u00faas manifestaci\u00f3ns culturais asociadas.<\/p>\n

O seu uso, tal como co\u00f1ec\u00e9molo hoxe en d\u00eda, s\u00f3 comezou coa domesticidad holandesa do SXVI e afianzouse m\u00e1is recientemente no SXVIII franc\u00e9s. \u00c9 s\u00f3 a partir de mediados do SXIX e m\u00e1is tarde a comezos do SXX cando en paralelo con mell\u00f3raa das condici\u00f3ns dom\u00e9sticas e sociais, o seu uso est\u00e9ndese paulatina e masivamente. Comer, estudar, traballar, dialogar, discutir, xogar son acci\u00f3ns m\u00e1is ou menos sociais que van a maior das veces unidas ao asento, \u00e9 dicir, fac\u00e9molas sentados.<\/p>\n

2\u00ba como uso e subversi\u00f3n da propia arquitectura para ser usada como mobiliario. Arquitectura pensada e flexibilizada para descansar e ofrecer lugar onde pararse. When the predecessor of the man, as today we know it, it incorporated his body on the vertical one to overcome a new link of the evolution, knew not only of the difficulty of the titanic task of raising and becoming detached the look of the soil towards the horizon but of the weariness that this action was provoking him. To sit down so comes to mean, for obvious that looks like to us the reflection, the search of the immediate rest to the effort to support the vertical one. Stop in the way of the nomad Abel for, at least for a moment, to turn into a Cain who is done partially by a territory. A minimal territory, which occupies one itself and his capacity of control around following the guidelines that Edward T Hall explains to us in \u00bb The dimension conceals \u00ab, since one does not occupy only what his body, but with his possible actions. To sit down, I dress like that, it has relation at the time, not only with the rest but with the local appropriation, at least temporarily and with all his cultural associate manifestations.<\/p>\n

The significant title of this exhibition: the seat like architecture and the architecture as seat, he sends us to a double interpretation. On the one hand, the seat like machine, an invention that allows the rest and that belongs to the family of the architectural thought. It is a question of the seat made as piece that it separates us from the soil that fulfills, as the architecture, three classic rules, firmitas, utilitas, venustas, and that places, when it is not nomadic, in the enclosure or territory to cutlery and protected from the architecture. On the other hand, the own architecture, the vernacular one and the contemporary one, the first one of spontaneous form and the created and well-considered second one ex-I practise to use also as arrangement, as seat and rest.\u00a0 The edges, the links, interiors and exteriors of the architecture like places – forms where to accommodate the rest and to interfere in the relations of the physical and stable thing with the actions of use of the citizens.<\/p>\n

The seat in architecture along the history, has been an object machine, frequent little out of the social classes prominent and reserved only to the top hierarchies up to very recent epoch. His use, as we know it nowadays, only it began with the Dutch domesticity of the SXVI and became strong more recently in the French SXVIII. It is only from middle of the SXIX and later at the beginning of the SXX when in parallel with the improvement of the domestic and social conditions, his use spreads gradually and massively. Till then the silla, the high seat of the soil practically was reserved to the highest hierarchies of the royalty, of the aristocracy and the church.<\/p>\n

In this model succinct and general exhibition of the seat in the SXX, we are interested then in the seat in architecture from two opposite angles:<\/p>\n

1 \u00ba as minor and elementary machinery to security of the architecture that it does of direct complement of the first one, in a clear sense of improvement of the comfort, of conditioning of an internal domesticity and after safeguarded the functions base of the architecture. A species of architecture inside the architecture because the table and the seat, besides his function of rest and use, are elements computers of the space, generating meetings and dispositions that can alter the initial conditions of the covered enclosure of the architecture.<\/p>\n

The majority of the actions developed in the architectural space related to the socialization and the work take the perfect machine of the seat as a support. To eat, to study, to work, to talk, to discuss, to play are more or less social actions that go the major one of the times joined the seat, that is to say, we make them seated.<\/p>\n

2 \u00ba as use and subversion of the own architecture to be used as furniture. Architecture well-considered and adapted to rest and to offer place where to stop. Very probably here there is no better way of speaking on this perception that to be sent to the architecture of the Dutch teacher Herman Hertzberger, both in the analysis of the action and in the result of his offers of using his architecture, so much to the interior as on the outside, fresh and basic relations of socialization to sit and to be established.<\/p>\n

The exhibition tries to open the door for the reflection, in both expressed meanings, on the importance of the most basic actions of the uses of the inhabitants of the architecture, on having sat down and on the seat, so much across the vision of some of the models more acquaintances of the SXX as of the reading of the texts of the catalogue edited by Luis Gil and Cristina Nieto and writings on the subject matter for:<\/p>\n
