Como se dijo, las columnas cruciformes desprolijas se revisten con chapa de acero cromada. La base de hormig\u00f3n est\u00e1 revestida con travertino. El entramado irregular del techo est\u00e1 revestido con listones y un plano ininterrumpido de yeso. Mucho de lo que parece piedra monol\u00edtica son en realidad delgadas placas montadas sobre mamposter\u00eda. Adem\u00e1s de posibilitarle esconder sus uniones en la perfiler\u00eda, esto le permit\u00eda a Mies usar s\u00f3lo delgadas capas de materiales costosos, y aplicar estos materiales en un trabajo de precisi\u00f3n sobre la obra gruesa de acero y hormig\u00f3n.
