El curso aborda, mediante una serie de lecciones magistrales de expertos, exposici\u00f3n de casos o experiencias y exploraci\u00f3n de materiales, tecnolog\u00edas y registros documentales y audiovisuales, la identificaci\u00f3n de los principios en que se funda, o debiera fundarse, el espacio urbano contempor\u00e1neo. Espacio vac\u00edo, contenedor de lo p\u00fablico y generador de las transiciones con lo edificado. Reemprenderemos la discusi\u00f3n de los procesos de pensamiento, dise\u00f1o y proyecto relacionados con todo aquello que no es estrictamente \u201cedificaci\u00f3n\u201d, \u201carquitectura\u201d o \u201curbanismo\u201d y, sin embargo, constituye dicho espacio. Finalmente, valoraremos las situaciones que se ofrecen al ciudadano cuando estos espacios activan la convivencia y los modos de relaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica cualificada. Entre lo edificado y lo no edificado persiste una frontera compleja que los separa. Lugares sin nombre, tr\u00e1nsito de lo p\u00fablico a lo privado y viceversa, plenos de matices, graduales, semip\u00fablicos o de acceso controlado. Espacio entre el rostro y la m\u00e1scara, intermedio en el que se produce la vida colectiva.<\/p>\n

\u00bfC\u00f3mo encontrar un lugar en el espacio? La sutil cuesti\u00f3n formulada por Joseph Rykwert sugiere una rica miscel\u00e1nea de asuntos imprescindibles para todos aquellos que interpretamos la ciudad como un artefacto consecuencia de actos y construcciones voluntarias. Corresponde a los arquitectos y urbanistas una cuota de responsabilidad notable en la tarea colectiva de construir la ciudad. Su cometido es el de dar \u201cforma\u201d a un contexto urbano funcionalmente eficiente y bello. Su \u201carte\u201d consiste en manejar y dominar los significados de esta forma para que los ciudadanos puedan recuperar e interpretar buena parte de los resortes y valores que han vertido en sus proyectos. Curso que pretende pues recuperar la tradici\u00f3n del arte c\u00edvico desde una visi\u00f3n contempor\u00e1nea de la condici\u00f3n urbana, con el objetivo indisimulado de ensayar el proyecto de la forma urbana desde el entendimiento y la concepci\u00f3n simultanea de las arquitecturas, el espacio p\u00fablico colectivo y las actividades.<\/p>\n

Todo ello sin ignorar que la ciudad es hoy en d\u00eda un rompecabezas inconexo que se produce por fragmentos y a saltos tantas veces impredecibles, con un sentido de comunidad decreciente, pero asimismo con la voluntad de considerar que las grandes \u201cfuerzas\u201d econ\u00f3micas\/hist\u00f3ricas, aparentemente impersonales, siempre han sido el resultado de elecciones efectuadas por individuos singulares (pol\u00edticos, empresarios, ingenieros, arquitectos, urbanistas\u2026)<\/p>\n

The course approaches, by means of a series of experts’ magisterial lessons, exhibition of cases or experiences and exploration of materials, technologies and documentary and audio-visual records, the identification of the beginning on which it is founded, or there must be founded, the urban contemporary space. Empty space, container of public and generator of the transitions with the built-up thing. We will re-undertake the discussion of the processes of thought, design and project related to all that that is not strictly \u00aba\u00bb \u00abbuilding\u00bb, \u00abarchitecture\u00bb or \u00aburbanism\u00bb and, nevertheless, it constitutes the above mentioned space. Finally, we will value the situations that offer themselves the citizen when these spaces activate the conviviality and the manners of public qualified relation. Between the built-up thing and not built there persists a complex border that separates them. Places without name, traffic of the public thing to the private thing and vice versa, plenary sessions of shades, gradual, semipublic or of controlled access. I spread between the face and the mask, interval in the one that produces the collective life to himself.<\/p>\n

How to find a place in the space? The subtle question formulated by Joseph Rykwert suggests a rich miscellany of indispensable matters for all those that we interpret the city as an appliance consequence of acts and voluntary constructions. There corresponds to the architects and town planners a quota of notable responsibility in the collective task of constructing the city. His assignment is of giving \u00abform\u00bb to an urban functionally efficient and beautiful context. His \u00abart\u00bb consists of handling and dominating the meanings of this form in order that the citizens could recover and interpret good part of the springs and values that they have spilt in his projects. Course that tries to recover so the tradition of the civic art from a contemporary vision of the urban condition, with the undisguised aim to test the project of the urban form from the understanding and the simultaneous conception of the architectures, the public collective space and the activities.<\/p>\n

All this without ignoring that the city is nowadays an unconnected puzzle that takes place for fragments and skippingly so often unpredictable, with a sense of diminishing community, but likewise with the will to consider that the big economic \/ historical, seemingly impersonal \u00abforces\u00bb, always they have been the result of choices effected by singular individuals (politicians, businessmen, engineers, architects, town planners \u2026)<\/p>\n
