\u00abEn el ballet las bailarinas danzan com\u00fanmente sobre las puntas de sus pies. A primera vista este comportamiento parece tanto artificial como sin sentido. Para entender un aspecto tan importante del ballet uno debe investigar la naturaleza y el significado de lo vertical en la vida humana.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

En la lejana \u00c1frica de hace siete millones de a\u00f1os los primeros hom\u00ednidos, nuestros antepasados m\u00e1s remotos, tuvieron que enfrentarse a un cambio clim\u00e1tico extremo. A un calentamiento medioambiental de escala global que produjo como consecuencia una paulatina y severa disminuci\u00f3n de la masa forestal. El h\u00e1bitat natural, principalmente arb\u00f3reo, se transform\u00f3 entonces de forma significativa, form\u00e1ndose en poco tiempo un paisaje de grandes e inseguros espacios abiertos.<\/p>\n

Los vestigios encontrados permiten concluir que ante tan importante desaf\u00edo vital aquellos primeros primates cuadr\u00fapedos, aquellos que no tuvieron m\u00e1s remedio que descender de los \u00e1rboles y adaptarse al rigor de las extensas superficies para seguir viviendo, optaron de manera instintiva por cambiar su postura frente al medio y empezaron a caminar erguidos sobre la tierra.<\/p>\n

Aquellos supervivientes consiguieron evolucionar, qui\u00e9n sabe si por azar o por necesidad, gracias a un nuevo y eficaz modo de enfrentarse al mundo; abandonaron la horizontal y se transformaron en seres verticales, dieron el gran salto a la bipedestaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

De hecho se ha podido comprobar que la posici\u00f3n b\u00edpeda result\u00f3 ser muy conveniente en tan vulnerables condiciones de vida.<\/p>\n

La nueva presencia vertical les facilit\u00f3 otear el horizonte por encima de la vegetaci\u00f3n en busca de refugio o depredadores. Les permiti\u00f3, a su vez, que los diferentes individuos tuvieran la oportunidad de transportar instrumentos y objetos, o incluso a sus cr\u00edas, con las manos, liberadas definitivamente de la funci\u00f3n locomotora. El movimiento, la marcha, en esas condiciones result\u00f3 ser claramente m\u00e1s lenta que la horizontal cuadr\u00fapeda, pero mucho menos costosa energ\u00e9ticamente, lo que tuvo que ser de gran utilidad para viajar y recorrer largas distancias en la sabana, o en un h\u00e1bitat m\u00e1s pobre en recursos que los bosques o la selva de la que proven\u00edan. Y, como gran ventaja adicional, tal cambio de postura supuso ser capaz de exponer mucha menos superficie corp\u00f3rea al sol, permitiendo aprovechar el efecto regulador del viento, consiguiendo no recalentar el cuerpo en exceso y, lo que es m\u00e1s importante, ahorrar agua, muy escasa por aquel entonces.<\/p>\n

Mucho tiempo despu\u00e9s, hace aproximadamente ciento cincuenta mil a\u00f1os, el cercano y capaz homo sapiens, descendiente de aquellos primeros b\u00edpedos hom\u00ednidos, tuvo que desenvolverse de nuevo en un clima que llev\u00f3 al planeta a una generalizada desecaci\u00f3n. Una vez m\u00e1s, el fuerte est\u00edmulo de superaci\u00f3n hizo que se trasladara mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de sus fronteras naturales en busca de la supervivencia.<\/p>\n

Aquel primer hombre fue colonizando poco a poco la Tierra y fijando los rasgos principales de nuestra especie, transform\u00e1ndose en un ser cada vez m\u00e1s evolucionado gracias a su privilegiada y poderosa verticalidad frente al mundo. Liber\u00e1ndose del suelo y ascendiendo perpendicularmente con respecto al horizonte en imitaci\u00f3n al movimiento diario de los astros, pudo responder corp\u00f3rea y an\u00edmicamente a la necesidad de tratar de dominar y comprender cuanto le rodeaba.<\/p>\n

Podr\u00eda decirse que \u00e9ste fue el nacimiento de la m\u00e1s importante de las revoluciones en toda la historia humana. La actitud f\u00edsica y mental que supone la adopci\u00f3n de la vertical, su capacidad dominadora frente al espacio f\u00edsico, frente a la naturaleza, puede que haya sido nuestro mayor logro como especie.<\/p>\n

La vertical, l\u00ednea que asciende no sin dificultad, aspira a algo superior. Los animales, las cosas, las presencias, yacen horizontales, tranquilas sobre la tierra, o bien se elevan perpendicularmente, liberadas de soportes innecesarios, activas y expectantes. Las impresiones cambian notoriamente. La sensaci\u00f3n ps\u00edquica de lo horizontal provoca regularidad y sosiego, lo vertical, sin embargo, transmite emoci\u00f3n, b\u00fasqueda, exaltaci\u00f3n del alma.<\/p>\n

Un \u00e1rbol, un hombre, en posici\u00f3n horizontal, aunque estable resulta despojado de la vida, por el contrario, en su posici\u00f3n alzada lanza sus ramas, su mirada, al cielo, a lo sublime, tenso hacia lo trascendente.<\/p>\n

Con la vertical comienza la historia de la cultura humana y la conquista gradual del cielo y de la tierra. Pero nuestra verdadera historia, el origen de nuestro m\u00e1s importante legado, es posible que comenzara en realidad hace tan s\u00f3lo treinta mil a\u00f1os. En ese remoto y l\u00facido instante en el que una primigenia voluntad resolvi\u00f3 la elevada necesidad de representar, exteriorizar y plasmar su pensamiento. En aquel momento en que su inteligencia supo ascender, traspasar el l\u00edmite animal, y act\u00fao para satisfacer, no ya sus instintos m\u00e1s primarios, sino su intelecto, su creatividad y su espiritualidad.<\/p>\n

Aqueles sobreviventes conseguiron evolucionar, quen sabe se por azar ou por necesidade, grazas a un novo e eficaz modo de enfrontarse ao mundo; abandonaron a horizontal e transform\u00e1ronse en seres verticais, deron o gran salto \u00e1 bipedestaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

De feito p\u00faidose comprobar que a posici\u00f3n b\u00edpeda resultou ser moi conveniente en tan vulnerables condici\u00f3ns de vida.<\/p>\n

E, como gran vantaxe adicional, tal cambio de postura supuxo ser capaz de expo\u00f1er moita menos superficie corp\u00f3rea ao sol, permitindo aproveitar o efecto regulador do vento, conseguindo non recalentar o corpo en exceso e, o que \u00e9 m\u00e1is importante, aforrar auga, moi escasa por aquel ent\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Moito tempo despois, fai aproximadamente cento cincuenta mil anos, o pr\u00f3ximo e capaz homo sapiens, descendente daqueles primeiros b\u00edpedos hom\u00ednidos, tivo que desenvolverse de novo nun clima que levou ao planeta a unha xeneralizada desecaci\u00f3n. Unha vez m\u00e1is, o forte est\u00edmulo de superaci\u00f3n fixo que se trasladase moito m\u00e1is al\u00e1 das s\u00faas fronteiras naturais en busca da supervivencia.<\/p>\n

Aquel primeiro home foi colonizando aos poucos a Terra e fixando os trazos principais da nosa especie, transform\u00e1ndose nun ser cada vez m\u00e1is evolucionado grazas \u00e1 s\u00faa privilexiada e poderosa verticalidad fronte ao mundo. Liber\u00e1ndose do chan e ascendendo perpendicularmente con respecto ao horizonte en imitaci\u00f3n ao movemento diario dos astros, puido responder corp\u00f3rea e animicamente \u00e1 necesidade de tratar de dominar e comprender canto lle rodeaba.<\/p>\n

Poder\u00eda dicirse que este foi o nacemento da m\u00e1is importante das revoluci\u00f3ns en toda a historia humana. A actitude f\u00edsica e mental que sup\u00f3n a adopci\u00f3n da vertical, a s\u00faa capacidade dominadora fronte ao espazo f\u00edsico, fronte \u00e1 natureza, poida que fose noso maior logro como especie.<\/p>\n

Unha \u00e1rbore, un home, en posici\u00f3n horizontal, a\u00ednda que estable resulta desposu\u00eddo da vida, pola contra, na s\u00faa posici\u00f3n alzada lanza as s\u00faas ramas, a s\u00faa mirada, ao ceo, ao sublime, tenso cara ao transcendente.<\/p>\n

Coa vertical comeza a historia da cultura humana e a conquista gradual do ceo e da terra. Pero nosa verdadeira historia, a orixe do noso m\u00e1is importante legado, \u00e9 posible que comezase en realidade fai tan s\u00f3 trinta mil anos. Nese remoto e l\u00facido instante no que unha primigenia vontade resolveu a elevada necesidade de representar, exteriorizar e plasmar o seu pensamento. Naquel momento en que a s\u00faa intelixencia soubo ascender, traspasar o l\u00edmite animal, e act\u00fao para satisfacer, non xa os seus instintos m\u00e1is primarios, sen\u00f3n o seu intelecto, a s\u00faa creatividade e a s\u00faa espiritualidade.<\/p>\n

Being liberated of the soil and ascending perpendicularly with regard to the horizon in imitation to the daily movement of the stars, it could answer corporeal and mental to the need to try to dominate and understand all that him was making a detour.<\/p>\n

It might be said that this one was the birth of the most important of the revolutions in the whole human history. The physical and mental attitude that supposes the adoption of the vertical one, his dominating capacity opposite to the physical space, opposite to the nature, can that major achievement has been ours as species.<\/p>\n

The vertical one, line that ascends not without difficulty, aspires to something top. The animals, the things, the presences, lie horizontal, calm on the land, or rise perpendicularly, liberated of unnecessary supports, active and expectant. The impressions change glaringly. The psychic sensation of the horizontal thing provokes regularity and quiet, the vertical thing, nevertheless, transmits emotion, search, exaltation of the soul.<\/p>\n

A tree, a man, in horizontal position, though stable he turns out to be taken off of the life, on the contrary, in his lifted position throws his branches, his look, to the sky, to the sublime thing, I tighten towards the transcendent thing.<\/p>\n

With the vertical one it begins the history of the human culture and the gradual conquest of the sky and of the land. But our real history, the origin of our more important legacy, is possible that it began actually it does only thirty thousand years. In this remote and lucid instant in which an original will solved the high need to represent, expressing and forming his thought. In that moment in which his intelligence could ascend, penetrate the animal limit, and I act to satisfy, not already his more primary instincts, but his intellect, his creativity and his spirituality.<\/p>\n
