Four books that form the collection are:
The book approaches the study of the projects that, inside the educational area, there have developed some of the best Spanish architects of the second half of s. The XXth. An introductory article studies the principal international, both theoretical and constructed models, that could use as modals the Spanish selected architects.
Under this prism with global vision the contributions are analyzed that Miguael Fisac, Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza, Julio Cano Lasso, Fernando Higueras, Rafael Moneo and Alberto Campo Baeza to the educational Spanish architecture. In the book they are revised from the first modernization that there suppose Fisac’s labor Institutes up to the international consecration of the North American schools of I Clown around, happening for experiences as interesting as the ” educational uterus ” of the schools of Oiza’s Fulling mill, the clear syntax of the centers of vocational training of Grey-haired Lasso, the active progressism of the college I Study and the later offers of Fig trees or the colleges of essential geometries of pure volumes of Field Baeza.
Panels of the contest of Miguel Fisac’s Labor (unpublished) Institutes and it takes a folder with plants to scale.
Since we improve in the previous publication, this investigation takes as an object the study of all those documents, in the main unpublished, that remain in the files of some of the principal protagonists of the Spanish contemporary architecture referred to the educational architecture. The architects who occupy us are Miguel Fisac, Francisco Javier Saénz de Oíza, Julio Cano Lasso, Fernando Higueras, Rafael Moneo and Alberto Campo Baeza and with the documents that they have found we can put at the disposal of the scientific community, and of the interested public in general, a valuable material that can use as solid base for other future investigations, so much in this field of the architecture for the education as in that of the work in general as our teachers or as the epoch that they represent.
In this second phase that now we publish we have centred on the project processes of those works that we have considered to be representative both of the thought and of the way of working of his authors. In her we have found numerous planes, photographies and texts, up to today unpublished, many of which let’s sense beforehand in this book.
In these three years we have studied all the documents that, relative to the educational architecture, remain in the particular files of six of the principal Spanish architects: Miguel Fisac, Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oíza, Julio Cano Lasso, Fernando Higueras, Rafael Moneo and Alberto Campo Baeza. The opposing information, once analyzed, has allowed us to put at the disposal of the scientific community, and of the interested public in general, a valuable documentation formed by twenty tests and critical analyses on educational architecture, so much to general as particular level, more than 130 planes and unpublished and, sketches approximately, hundred analytical schemes drawn for the occasion with which there have been studied both the context and the original references and the evolution in the time of the buildings and his current validity. Finally, we have extended the area foreseen in our project incorporating an exhaustive investigation on the use of the ceramics on the part of the studied architects and whose results are included in this third volume.
Our work concludes with a few reflections brings over of the current condition of the buildings that seemed to us to be more representative in the first phase of investigation, as well as of the paper that they can play, as models of reference, in the new educational architecture of the 21st century. Though it is true that some have had better luck that different, they all continue being examples of the highest architectural level that any investigator or designer who is employed at this area should know.
This publication gathers the fourth phase of the project of investigation that, under the title SPACES FOR THE EDUCATION, there develops the Group of Investigation Contemporary Spanish Architecture of the Technical Top School of the university San Paul CEU.
The project financed with a scholarship – bridge granted by the Bank of Santander and the University San Paul CEU (reference USP BS APP6 2015), approaches the study of the projects that, inside the educational area, they have developed someone of the principal protagonists of the Spanish architecture of last decades.
