The headquarters of the Foundation Juana of Vega received last November 13 the act of reading of the failure and delivery of the Juana de Vega Architecture Award 2015. Consolidated as one of most emphasized from the sector and created by the Foundation Juana de Vega to recognize the labor of the architects who, with his projects, contribute to the improvement of landscape quality of Galicia. In him the best one-family housing is rewarded, both of new plant and of rehabilitation, finished in the natural year previous to the summons, in this case 2014.
The members of the juror of this edition were the dean of the COAG, Antonio Maroño Cal (president); the director of the Galician School of the Landscape, Isabel Aguirre (secretary) and the members Enrique Sáez (president of the Foundation Juana of Vega); Fernando Agrasar (the director of the Technical Top School of Architecture of the UDC), as well as Gonçalo Byrne, Salvador Fraga, Manuel Caamaño and Xavier Seoane.
The juror awarded the Prize Juana of Vega of Architecture to the Chao House placed in Corcubión’s historical hull (To Corunna, Galicia, Spain) of the architects Juan Creus y Covadonga Carrasco. Also a second prize and special mention has been granted to other two housings. The first one of them for the housing, Choupana House placed in the Street Luis Vázquez Parga, n º 9 in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, Spain) of 2es + _ office of architecture. Whereas the special mention went for house placed in A Ferreirúa (Nogueira de Ramuín) in the Ribeira Sacra (Galicia, Spain) of the architect Quico Jorreto.
