How has it changed the way of communicating the architecture in the Internet age? Which is the difference between the architecture and his myth? What does happen when one tries to make coincide the architectural work with his photography? What ways does it take the work when he travels across his image? What have they to see Facebook and Twitter with the promotion of the project of a building? These questions, of great current importance, are the axis of the volume “Architecture on the web. A Critical Approach to Communication” compiled by Paolo Schianchi.
“Internet and the social means have changed the way of spreading the information” it is an affirmation that repeats itself and is applied also to the communication in architecture. Nowadays, when it passes from the project of an architectural work to his diffusion inevitable dilemmas appear. For example, the forms and period in which the users consume this information, or the relation between the work of architecture and his interpretation across the means.
Thanks to the tests elaborated by four historical authors of Floornature’s draft (Paolo Schianchi, Mara Corradi, Christiane Bürklein and Agnese Bifulco) the book “Architecture on the web. A Critical Approach to Communication” throws a current topic in the field of the architecture, giving free rein to the debate and establishing the bases for a discipline, ” the image of the architecture in the web “, that arises and develops in our days.
They complete the volume a series of collaborations on the topic on the part of architects of international reputation as C.F. Møller Architects, Alberto Campo Baeza, Giancarlo Mazzanti, Mauricio Pezo and Sofia von Ellrichshausen, MVRDV, TYIN tegnestue, photographers like Ken Schluchtmann and Tom Vack, teachers as Angelo Maggi of IUAV of Venice, Luca Molinari de la Seconda Facoltà I gave Architettura “Luigi Vanvitelli” of Naples, Kuba Snopek of the Strelka Institute for Architecture, Average and Design of Moscow and Alexis Kraft de la Parsons The New School of Design of New York, direct evidences of the interest that raises a question that manages to influence the own way of doing architecture.
